    Incredible story, very good graphics, but average combat, I never really liked "cinematic" games but this one in particular really got to me, its story is extremely moving and forced me to keep playing, its only weakness, in my opinion, is its combat.

    I don't like Marvel much, don't like GotG much but what a great game. It's real good, light hearted fun. Enjoying it a lot. Very linear, which I like 'cos I don't have 60 hours to plod around an open world. A bit of light humour and a good balance of story, action and environments.

    Very nerdy game but really glad I got it.

    This game is great! The story is funny, the gameplay is very fun and the devs knew how long the game should be to be satisfying. It's like 20h, it's a lot better then playing a 100h long boring rpg. The jokes are funny and the graphics are amazing! The music is on point too ! The only thing I would say is that it's gets repetitive like at the 3/4 of the game im glad that the game is onlyThis game is great! It has made each member of the Guardians team a meaningful, cinema-like character with his own problems, development, and story arc.     Gameplay 5/10 + The    Guardians of the galaxy
    If you like the Marvel universe, specifically Guardians of the galaxy, you will love this game. It has made each member of the Guardians team a meaningful, cinema-like character with his own problems, development, and story arc. These amazing stories are accompanied by a big pack of crazy music and bright, interesting surrounding worlds.

    Gameplay 5/10
    + The main game-line of the game is teamwork and collaboration between the members of your team, utilizing their individual strengths. All your actions, including the discovery part and fights, are based on using the abilities of your teammates.
    + The roleplaying part and your moves have a real impact on the world and the development of relationships between team members.
    + Researching the world helps to uncover the team's history and traits.
    – Researching the world can be quite boring, as the situations are very limited, and they start to repeat early on. For instance, if you have to overcome a breakage, your only option is to ask Groot to grow through it. This becomes repetitive quickly.
    – Fighting and enemies are some of the weakest parts of the game. Fights are very similar and interactions are minimal. You just push all the buttons and wait until all the enemies die.
    – Enemies are nondescript and uninteresting such as slugs, cubs, and worms.
    – The looting and crafting systems are disappointing and could have been omitted.

    Story and plot 7/10
    + Each team member is an interesting, deep and slowly developing character with their own story, fears, motivations, and conflicts.
    + The game develops and opens up the characters better than two films.
    + By the end of the game, you love all your team members like they are your own team.
    – The ending is typical of a Marvel story.
    – The creators of the game wanted to appeal to a younger audience, so there isn’t any profanity in the game. You will hear “fluck” and “fitch” frequently, which can be annoying.

    Visualization 6/10
    + The graphics are bright, the world is beautiful and colorful.
    + Each mission is set in a different atmosphere, nature, colors, making the world interesting.
    – The enemies are dull and mostly gray.
    – There is no blood in the game.

    Sound 10/10
    + The music selection is excellent.
    + The music is really crazy, especially during bright moments like activating team huddle up.
    + The Music highlights the mood of the scenes.

    Amazing game. Best characters that I have seen in a game for a long time. They are very authentic, funny and you feel with them. Great visuals, too. The game even has a replay potential for me, which is very rare.

    On the downside, there are quite a few annoying QTE events and boring flashback sequences with mawkish cutscenes that drag down the game like giant speedbumps. GoTG is also unacceptably buggy. There were a dozen times that I got stuck in the world, or my main character was stuck in an endless animation loop or couldn't move after an ingame cutscene. A number of these required me to restart a checkpoint. One of the story-based achievements is also bugged, and wouldn't unlock even after I replayed the chapter. The various bugs and some ill-advised indulgent game design bring the game from an 8/10 to a 7.    … Expand

    El juego tiene una excelente historia y mecánicas, banda sonora, todo esta muy bien, pero tiene muchos bugs, en ocasiones se queda el menú pegado en la pantalla y no se va, entre otros, quitando esos problemas el juego esta perfecto.

    Marvel knows how to tell a story and they outdid themselves with this. The voice acting is superb, the graphics, music and level design is top notch. The story writing and dialogue are terrific. The combat is fun with Mass Effect style team cooperation. Really excellent game that I never would have played if it hadn’t been scheduled for departure from Xbox Game Pass.

    I thought the game was not for me. But I gave it a try because it was on the Game Pass. I finished the game in just 3 days. Once you get into the story, it's hard to get out of the game.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy blew me away. I had low expectations going into this game. Why can we only play as Star-Lord and not the other Guardians? I found out that question doesn’t matter if the gameplay is sound and the story is spectacular. I was engrossed the whole time in this surprisingly emotional story. The gameplay is unique, too. Commanding the other Guardians feels great,Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy blew me away. I had low expectations going into this game. Why can we only play as Star-Lord and not the other Guardians?     This game blew me away! I am honestly really sad that it did poorly financially because that means we probably will never get a sequel. Here are the positives: - The graphics are truly next-gen. The game looks incredible. - The story is super fun with lots of twists and turns. It is incredibly well paced. Expect 15-20 hours. - Great    Underrated Gem - One of the Best Superhero Games

    - Great achievement design. You can get them all in one play through if you are intentional with collectibles (which are not excessive).
    - The combat is very fun. You play as Star Lord but command the whole team with special abilities and group combos. It is very satisfying and fun. Ability progression is perfectly balanced throughout the game. Love the combat!
    - Movement feels great.
    - The villain is awesome and very comic book accurate!
    - The cast is easily the best part. You will love this version of the guardians. There is a ton of heart and growth amongst each member throughout the game and their ability progression is tied to them overcoming past struggles. Really well done in the character department.
    - This game is also hilarious. I love funny games (Sunset Overdrive and High on Life for example). I consistently laughed through the whole game. Great writing.

    Negatives
    - The end drags on for a laugh or two and it hurts the pacing of a otherwise great final fight.

    Must-have game for Marvel fanboys. You are a lord although through commands you can make your companions launch attacks. perhaps it could have been improved by choosing a character, being able to switch between them or with specific missions. But if you liked the movies, the game sure did too.

    A nice transposition of this Marvel's universe. Graphics are good overall and the performance mode does a nice job. The gameplay could have been deeper et more precise but it does the job globally. The artistic direction, wide representation of the lore, the typical humour of the licence are the real strength, everything is here and very well transposed.     Just play the game and it will be worth every second of your time when i first downloaded the game i was a bit skeptical coz the same publisher launched marvel avengers and we all know that game is not even good but man was i relieved after booting the game for the first time that this game is nothing like marvel avengers and it turned out to be a great game i liked everything about the game from story to upgrade system to combat and so on. And yes kudos to xbox game pass because if it was not on game pass i would never have played the game coz i was not willing to spend my money on the could be great/good game launched by the same publisher as marvel avengers. Just a minor spoiler though i did not like rocket complaining and disagreeing too much with peter it goes to a point where it becomes annoying.     This game is fun from start to finish. It's so action-packed and the story is interesting enough to keep you going. I enjoy the use of music and voice acting. Its also great seeing he characters develop and become friends overtime. This was a great ride.

    The good: -Amazing Story- Everything from the character development, how the team dynamic evolved, the dialogue, the pacing of the story, they were all perfect. -Great gameplay- Even though it was nothing    This game is an example of what a singleplayer experience should be like!

    -Flawless audio- One of the best uses of audio I've ever encountered in a game. The voice acting is perfect. The sound effects are perfect, but the piece of resistance is the soundtrack. They pieced together everything in a way that make the game feel truly epic.
    -Amazing visuals- They created believable alien worlds that look beautiful as you vanquish your enemies.

    Хорошая игра, давно не получал такого удовольствия от игр, прошел примерно за 20 часов, время пролетело незаметно. Герои постоянно что-то обсуждают, постоянно что-то происходит, вполне годный для супергероики сюжет и динамичные сражения не дадут заскучать.
    На боксе сх пару раз застревал в текстурах, но это мелочи. Также несколько раз было, что начинал побочный миниразговор с персонажем и    Хорошая игра, давно не получал такого удовольствия от игр, прошел примерно за 20 часов, время пролетело незаметно. Герои постоянно что-то обсуждают, постоянно что-то происходит, вполне годный для супергероики сюжет и динамичные сражения не дадут заскучать.

    Super fun single player game. It's an linear straight forward experience but is super good. The story is awesome, you don't need to be a marvel fan to enjoy it fully. If you are a marvel fan IT'S A MUST PLAY no doubt

    Guardians of the Galaxy was put together really well. Upon watching tidbits of gameplay I could see potential in it, but didn't think I would like it as much as I did, despite its shortcomings.

    The name of the game here is: fun. Square Enix did an incredible job with story, dialogue and character development. Every major piece in this game feels very well fleshed out and the writing    Guardians of the Galaxy was put together really well. Upon watching tidbits of gameplay I could see potential in it, but didn't think I would like it as much as I did, despite its shortcomings.

    The name of the game here is: fun.

    Square Enix did an incredible job with story, dialogue and character development. Every major piece in this game feels very well fleshed out and the writing constantly evolves throughout the 16 chapter journey, making you care not only about Peter Quill and his teammates, but also about secondary characters to the plot.
    It's not easy to do that, but they manage to do it with charm. I laughed out loud on most of the chapters, during the myriad conversations the Guardians have on their missions. Well-written characters and dialogues and the game's amazing pace were honestly the main reason to keep me there 'til the end. It just works and it is funny and interesting as hell to see things unfold.

    On top of that, GotG has a very stylish and smooth combat. It might get repetitive after a while, but it does its job well. Characters have their own unique traits, powers and outfits, their fighting style is varied enough to give room to creativity and just moving Quill and shooting around aliens feels good enough. I also love how the game doesn't overstay its welcome, making it easy to get all power-ups, collectables and secrets. It's a blast, honestly.
    Not to mention how beautiful the game looks. From facial animations to how beautiful each planet is, this game excels on modern consoles, which helps to improve immersion even further.

    But I have to say, it actually took me the first 2 chapters to start enjoying the game and understand its pacing. It's not a huge slow start, but it's definitely a slow burner, to the point that it put me to sleep right on the 1st chapter. Yes, it gets better really fast around the 3rd mission (which is insane, btw), but it took me a little while.
    I also found very annoying that dialogues tend to overlap each other and you can even miss entire chunks of well-written jokes/story moments just by walking in the wrong place at the wrong time. Highly annoying. Just as annoying as the many unskippable cutscenes you have to go through whether you've seen them or not. Or maybe as annoying as Rocket Racoon, which, close to most other characters in the game, just seems a bit off.

    And then we get to my biggest issues with the game. Two things that can drag the experience down.
    1 - The puzzles
    Guardians of the Galaxy insists on making you complete the same puzzles OVER and OVER again. And yes, it's great when you get a new gadget or discover some new team work skill. But only the first time. Then it just slows you down.
    2 - Glitches/Crashes
    I really don't understand how a game can ship like this. I CONSTANTLY got stuck into places, had my game freeze out of nowhere, experienced minor crashes or just had characters/story not progressing as they should. It was more than annoying, it really pissed me off! And it's a shame, because this game is actually really good!

    I didn't think I'd enjoy Guardians of the Galaxy as much as I did, but I'm glad I got to experience such an entertaining and well-told game. If you like super heroes or just a good story, this game's for you.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An absolute mess of a game. Everything is tedious. It's full of horrible plot holes, that make it seem as though they just slapped it together and said, good enough. The fighting consists of shooting and dodging. They try very hard to make you think your teammates are necessary, but you rarely actually need them to defeat enemies. The constant bickering chatter from your mates becomes annoying as hell after about 30 minutes. The way in which you interact with those conversations is so tedious that I found myself ignoring them more often than not. An example of the plot hole mess is, when you are going to sell Rocket or Groot to the monster buyer. On the way, you come across several monsters that you kill instead of selling them to her, in place of pretending your friend is a monster to fool her. There is even a monster that you find in a cage. Instead of taking it to her, Groot sets it free and you have to kill it. Once inside her fortress, Rocket suggests pulling off a heist when you come across her vault. Everyone shoots him down, as though it is a bad idea; yet that is exactly what you are doing. You are selling your friend to her, only to break in and steal him back later. Essentially pulling of a heist. This game has no soul. It is a rushed, irritating experience. If you are looking for a good Marvel game, I would suggest you play the Avengers instead. At least the fighting and main story are well fleshed out in that game. Also, why do I have to tell Gamora to cut down vines every time they are blocking our entrance? Shouldn't she know to cut them down? Same thing with all the characters.     Fajna historia, jako osoba nie oglądająca żadnej części bardzo przyjemnie dowiadywałem się kolejnych elementów i historii całej grupy. Sama rozgrywa świetnie łączy możliwość wykorzystywania swoich kompanów i pozwala poszaleć z pistoletami głównego bohater. Ocena: 8 /10!

But thanks to Xbox Game Pass, I tried perhaps one of the best games of 2021. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy reads a good plot, well-written characters (thanks to the original sources, of course) and a good game play.     First time I tried this game it had unskippable dialogue scenes and didn't play it further. Its trying to lure you into one of its finest aspects which is the characters and their interactions such as dialogue. Once you get past the first 5-10 minutes of the game it becomes better and better. The gameplay is simple but fun and gets better as you go along.     Sehr gute Grafik, witzige Charaktere und gute Story. Spiel legt sowieso mehr wert auf Story, also viel Text, etwa 65% Story/Gelaber - 35% Kampf. Spielt sich sehr casual, stört aber nicht. Für Fortgeschrittene Spieler empfehle ich den schweren Schwierigkeitsgrad, da sogar der sehr leicht ist. Für wen es wichtig ist, es sind nicht die Filmcharaktere!     So the graphics in this game are good and this goes along with all the different type of styles that they are going for in the sci fi genre. You got big planets that all look very different and alienlike, the best thing about these are that you always feel uninvited and like the planet was not made for you. To capture this feeling they make you feel really small and weak in comperison with everything that is going on. like for instance a planet where constant rocks as big as buildings fall from the sky or just plants that super massive. besides the big planets there are also big ships that do the exact same thing so this whole game you feel way smaller than you actually are. This is a strong point of the game and suits the group of hero's very well.

    Story, characters and writing: 8/10
    For the story its kind of all over the place and a big mess. I know this sounds wrong but thats actually everything what the guardians of the galaxy should represent. Not to forget that the heroes in this game are very well written and all go for a different type of character and if all are together make for a constant conversation where you can actually slide in have a few lines too. This is the biggest plus point the game gets as it sets the characters exactly like you know them from the movies and it really feels you are on this adventure with them while still staying important as yourself. One thing that was not so good about this was that you could have different things to say but with almost no consequences. Yes you could send groot instead of rocket or you could approve more with gamora than drax but I believe these all have the same outcomes but just a different line.

    Gameplay 2/10
    The gameplay this is where the game falls flat on its face. To simply put it the gameplay is horrible, tedious and a complete insult to people that actually play it. For the combat you dont even have to aim and its just hold LT, press RT and jump/dash around like an idiot. You could also send out one of your teammates to execute a move by pressing a button combination in a tedious type menu that slows down time. While you could shoot you actually do little to no damage at all and most damage comes from your teammates so what you end up doing is just go into that menu let all your team mates execute a move and watch how they do it. Do you see what is wrong with this? You literally just do nothing and stand there like an idiot while the game is playing itself. Besides the combat you also have to be doing puzzles made for 5 yr olds. The puzzles are all like can you move this to there or smash this wall, these are not really puzzles these are just to make the game longer and longer while being tedious to get through. And to make the game even longer they put a crawl through that hole or walk over that beam around every single corner. The worse part of this is that you cant even fall off the beam or fall down a ravine. The game just requires zero skill or even any brain activity this could simply not be a game for this matter and makes this whole experience just not fun to playthrough but to watch through.

    Final verdict: 5/10
    While the graphics and story are good and enjoyable the game lacks in a serious type of gameplay. The gameplay makes this game tedious and unenjoyable experience that just lets you want to see the next cutscene the game has to offer but you need to suffer first. Because this is a game first I will give this a 5/10 and the game itself is not enjoyable but the cutscenes are. So lets just make this an interactive show on disney+ and scrap all the gameplay out of it so this could be an enjoyable story to watch with well written characters overall.    … Expand

    Just Fantastic game, Great Story exploring these characters better than the marvel movie. the jokes are perfect written in the story. plenty of costume to find for everybody. upgrading for all character's choices to make thru the story. wish i can enjoy the music but had to mute the good music for streaming. miss a big part of the game i must say

    Let's start by saying that this is a MUST game for Marvel fans. It's like a cross-over of a good comic book and a good live-action film. Now, as a video game, it has some pretty graphics, a good story, and nice gameplay with some fresh ideas. Nice one! Don't miss it.

That makes it all the more shocking how the actual combat can be so astonishingly bad. it´s like it´s done by different people. people that had no idea what they were doing and didn´t care either. it feels tacked on, like a tedious mini game rather than the backbone of the game. they might as well just have cutscenes there. if you don´t care about actual gameplay and like interactive movies this might actual perfect for you. but if you like a good combat system and think gameplay is king this is pretty bad. the writing in itself, as to the overall story arc, is pretty boring as well. but what keeps me going, when it comes to writing, are the dialogues itself, the interactions between the characters. they seem like real characters. i usually wanna hear what they have to say and not just read it and then skip or skip the everything outright to get to the gameplay. altough that might also be because, like i said, there isn´t much actual gameplay. you also don´t have any freedoms at all your path is set and stone you can´t deviate from that at all. the levels are straight forward tubes, no sidepaths, no exploration, no freedom. it´s a rather classic and more remniscent of level design from 20 years ago which isn´t neccesrily a bad thing, and i´d say is rather a good fit for the game, but a bit more freedom would´ve been nice to compensate for the fact that this is so light on gameplay and the terrible combat system. overall it´s hard to give this a number. in another terrible game, a terrible combat system wouldn´t stand out much. but because everything else is done so well here, it sticks out like a nail, you have to put up with that unengaging mindless combat system if you wanna keep playing, which is what you want to do because all of it´s other strengths.    … Expand

    I've never been a fan of Super Hero worlds, so I wanted to play this game to enjoy the gameplay and not focus on the story, but surprisingly I enjoyed the plot more than the gameplay.

    The plot is not that creative, but the narrative was amazing and the characters keep talking and roasting each other almost all the time of the game, which is about 15-20hrs to complete, I believe the sound acting was the best element in this game.

    In the contrary, the gameplay was a little disappointment to me, very repetitive after completing few chapters, no remarkable diversity in enemies and no huge differences in boss fights, and the main character has a very weak weapon that make you feel that shooting has no point, and make you focus more on using the companions abilities to win the battle, which is fine for the first 3 hours, but after that, it was annoying and made me cannot wait to end this game, therefore I did not care much by gaining the 1000 gamerscore, because if you are seeking that, prepare yourself for a multiple walkthroughs and some of very annoying and grinding achievements.

    Still, the game is a -must play- game at least once, thanks to Xbox for adding it to Gamepass, my advice if you want to enjoy it, don't play more than 2-3 chapters a time.    … Expand

    Great writing, very funny and fun game. Game is set in a slightly different timeline than the films which make it feel new and more interesting. Could maybe had a more in depth customisation, levelling up system of the characters but overall very enjoyable.

It is spectacularly written, and the gameplay is intriguing enough to get you excited during most fights. The real gem is the story though. I haven’t ever laughed this hard at video game comedy.     Tried this thanks to Gamepass and what a surprise! Really fun and engaging singleplayer adventure experience, love the dynamic between the characters and lots of good humour. The only less positive aspect is the combat that gets a bit repetitive by the end of the game! Besides that the game is perfect, definitely recommended.

Seule la fort jolie et sexy Gamora tire son épingle du jeu… car tout le reste, y compris cette « galaxie » tombe régulièrement dans l’humour potache très bas de gamme et un côté bling-bling fort désagréable.

    Le mode performance est sujet à quelques à-coups hélas… mais rien d’alarmant. Ce qui s’avère très alarmant par contre, c’est ce système de combat confus et merdique tout droit tiré d’une fiente d’un Final Fientasy moderne : c’est chiant, répétitif, alambiqué… et chiant.

    L’espèce d’histoire se montre rapidement bien débile en tout cas et a raison de notre patience un peu trop vite… mais on ne pouvait pas espérer grand-chose d’une marvellerie de ce genre, forcément !    … Expand

    Game deserves a 10 if we watch back to other games the last 2 years. I did not thing this game could surprise me with anything.
    Great grafi, very good synchronisation (in german), great gameplay and sounds. only a few bugs where u have to restart the game or characters starts flying. A few voices are sometimes Interruping someone else. But overall, a great game with great story.

The story is driven from the comic books I believe so you will notice very quickly that it's different from the movies but this does not mean its bad, in fact this story is so much better and the characters really made me feel like I care about what they are saying, the dialogue is great and can be very funny however, it can be cut short very often if you try to progress too fast so it is highly advise to take things slow and stop to smell the roses so you can get the most out of the narrative, the game does rewards and opens new (hilarious) dialogue for you exploring the secret areas, unlock cool cosmetics and obtain scraps to use for upgrades and some have better impact to the mechanics, way better than marvel avengers game, sadly the disliking of Avengers game made this one unpopular to buy and I agree that The Avengers video game really was a let down and made me steer clear from this game when it came out, hence why they put it on xbox game pass hoping to get enough people to like it so we can have a sequel! It is rare that a game makes me want to collect and complete 100% of the game it's really that enjoyable, give this a try it is very much worth your time and money. The reason why I didn't give it a 10 because the bugs ruined some of the moments for me but they are going to patch them so it's definitely still worth getting.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Different Developers, sale publisher. So YES the game is different. Compare it to Mass Effect. Play as one character and control others thru commands. Simple right? Somewhat.

    Mechanics are alright. Moderate Auto Aim, overheating on blasters, quick reflexes and of course which character to use for what enemy. Now all of them have a weakness which the tutorial will show you how. Downside was the jet boots. Only got for short jumps? Lame.

    Graphics... HOLY S*it!!! PS4/PS5/XBox... who cares?! Take a minute and just admire how much damn work these people put in to make this ascetically pleasing, visually captivating. Granted it's no Marvel movie but you get a moment to really enjoy the work. The detail is pretty massive.

    The characters themselves are all motion capture which you'll notice, nothing spectacular but what you do notice is the dialogue between all the characters. Just the normal back and forth between traveling. Especially Drax. He's more witty and somewhat intelligent.

    Soundtrack. It's GoTG. Do I need to say more?

    Just know the runthrough is anywhere between 18-25 hrs. Yes the decisions affect some parts of the game so choose wisely. But overall. It's comedic, upbeat, just single player fun. No BS. Just fun.    … Expand

    Between the fun combat and the great dialogue with the team, it’s an awesome game. Total opposite of the Avengers game. Don’t judge Guardians based on the terrible Avengers game, please!

The game has its problems, like repetitive combat system that basically forces you to spam similar combos in every single fight or occasional weird bugs, but offers a satisfying plot that conveys the spirit of GOTG series. I would recommend it to every MarvelAfter disastrous Marvel's Avengers, the next Square Enix's entry based on the Marvel's universe feels like a terrific improvement.     Story is awesome, song in the game is amazing. i hope the next games will be same as guardians. Marvel Avengers was fine but not great. game makes me smile while playing.

The maps are vibrant and filled with life and their is collectables that consistently keep your eye on lookout for hidden secrets.     Love every aspect of this game. Story and characters are great! No micro transactions, great graphics and the music is just fits perfect. Love the soundtrack. I couldn’t recommend this game more. I hope games like this aren’t a dying bread.

    Even with a couple of technical shortcomings and the fact that the game needs a few patches to correct them, Eidos Montreal made a masterpiece with a lot of love and attention that will be remembered for all time. Marvel fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief and indulge in the new space adventures of Peter Quill’s gang.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best Marvel games ever released. It has a deep original story that becomes personal with every choice you make , a combat system that may start slow but holds some of the best moments of teamwork and explosive action, and amazing graphics and soundtrack. If you’re a Marvel fan, this is a game you’ll enjoy.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy could’ve easily ended up being a lacklustre attempt at recreating what makes this group of oddballs so endearing to the Marvel community, but that’s not the case. The acting is top drawer, with a script in place that can make you laugh one minute and bring a tear to your eye the next.
