    Superb writing; awesome motion capture, dubbing, and overall graphics; mediocre gameplay; some awful quick time events paired with non-skippable cutscenes (especially one in the pink goo, what they were thinking), although they can be bypassed via accessibility option.

    It was a long time since I had the pleasure to listen to some truly well-written and funny dialogue.     Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was unfairly missed by me in 2021. Once after Marvel's Avengers, there was no desire to play Guardians of the Galaxy at all. But thanks to Xbox Game Pass, I tried perhaps one of the best games of 2021. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy reads a good plot, well-written characters (thanks to the original sources, of course) and a good game play. And mostMarvel's Guardians of the Galaxy was unfairly missed by me in 2021. Once after Marvel's Avengers, there was no desire to play Guardians of the Galaxy at all. But thanks to Xbox Game Pass, I tried perhaps one of the best games of 2021. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy reads a good plot, well-written characters (thanks to the original sources, of course) and a good game play. And most importantly, this is not another game for 100 hours with an open world. In 20 game hours, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy goes great.     Definitely 10/10 nonstop fast pace action , multiple branching stories line choices allowing for multiple different play throughs good amount of lore and no sjw nonsense that marvel been pushing

    Guardians of the Galaxy is a wild ride with a gripping story, fun gameplay, and great music.

    The story deserved all the awards it won, the theme of coping with loss and learning to accept your past is done really well. Seeing the guardians slowly build up trust between each other was a genuinely great experience.     Great game. Story, atmosphere, characters, exploration, and combat all make this an incredibly immersive experience. I'm on my second playthrough now and only a few chapters in, but making total opposite decisions and I'm pretty excited to see that there is actually an impact on the story/gameplay unlike some other games out there that simply add a dialogue wheel to give an illusion ofGreat game.     I'm incredibly excited to see where this story goes in sequels. I'd love to see an ability to freely visit any planets you've already gone to - as long as you don't leave the planet guns blazing, more space dogfights with a better variety of combat options, and some type of side-quest system so you can earn credits (I get the guardians aren't supposed to be rich, but I really wanted to buy all of the items at the Collector's Emporium and it's literally impossible to make enough credits in this game).    … Expand

    Taking inspiration mostly from the comics with some nods to the movies, this game tells its own very enjoyable story. It is a gorgeous game with fun combat that isn't complicated but varied enough to stay engaging.     The only flaws are minor: there were some audio bugs that occurred on both platforms; sometimes you are pulled out of the action a little too long; and sometimes you miss out the funny banter between the characters if you happen to interact with something while they are talking,

    Love every aspect of this game. Story and characters are great! No micro transactions, great graphics and the music is just fits perfect. Love the soundtrack. I couldn’t recommend this game more. I hope games like this aren’t a dying bread.

    - très bonne mise en scène et scénario travaillé

    Ses défauts:
    - pas mal de bugs (perso bloqué dans des décors, bande son qui déconne, ...)
    - synchro labiale aux fraises
    - peu de combats spatiaux, et ceux existants sont courts et bof
    - j'aurais aimé plus de libertés (choix des destinations, planètes, ...)

    Pour ceux qui aiment ces personnages Marvel, je vous le conseille, il est vraiment bon. A jouer en mode Qualité 4k sur Series X. Mention spéciale avec l'utilisation du Dolby Vision pour ce jeu (pour ceux qui ont une tv compatible)    … Expand

    Tried this thanks to Gamepass and what a surprise! Really fun and engaging singleplayer adventure experience, love the dynamic between the characters and lots of good humour. The only less positive aspect is the combat that gets a bit repetitive by the end of the game! Besides that the game is perfect, definitely recommended.

I found out that question doesn’t matter if the gameplay is sound and the story is spectacular. I was engrossed the whole time in this surprisingly emotional story. The gameplay is unique, too.     This game is fun from start to finish. It's so action-packed and the story is interesting enough to keep you going. I enjoy the use of music and voice acting. Its also great seeing he characters develop and become friends overtime. This was a great ride.

    Simply fantastic. Please buy and play. Help get a sequel green lit!! The dialogue is so amusing, the team building is perfect, you care for the characters by the end, the combat is fun, adds layers of complexity and a bit of strategy. It’s just so great. If you like sci fi adventure games in general or the guardians of the galaxy it’s a must play!

    Youll be going forward through these linear sections, dealing with obstacles in the way and uing the other guradians to progress such as groot making a bridge or drax tipping things over or breaking walls.. and then there will be a fight, enemies will swarm you and you use your abilities and command the other 4 guardians for them to do teir special moves, and youll be able to fill up a meter to huddle up for some extra damage and listen to some classic 80s tunes while you kick alien butt.. at first this is all really fun, but eventually it just becomes tiresome, combat is so repetitive and a slog to get though due to how spongy enemies are, it just never feels satisfying and was my least favorite part of the game.. I enjoyed the traversing and problem solving, dealing with waves of bullet sponges, not so much…
    That’s being said, marvels guardians of the galaxy is a crazy goofy adevnute, there are great action pieces here.. the world is fun to get around, the writing is hilarious at times, and I loved the incorporation of 80s music,
    The game does overstay its welcome for somone not really a fan of the IP, but this is still a great game to run through

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Different Developers, sale publisher. So YES the game is different. Compare it to Mass Effect. Play as one character and control others thru commands. Simple right? Somewhat.

    Mechanics are alright. Moderate Auto Aim, overheating on blasters, quick reflexes and of course which character to use for what enemy. Now all of them have a weakness which the tutorial will show you how. Downside was the jet boots. Only got for short jumps? Lame.

    Graphics... HOLY S*it!!! PS4/PS5/XBox... who cares?! Take a minute and just admire how much damn work these people put in to make this ascetically pleasing, visually captivating. Granted it's no Marvel movie but you get a moment to really enjoy the work. The detail is pretty massive.

    The characters themselves are all motion capture which you'll notice, nothing spectacular but what you do notice is the dialogue between all the characters. Just the normal back and forth between traveling. Especially Drax. He's more witty and somewhat intelligent.

    Soundtrack. It's GoTG. Do I need to say more?

    Just know the runthrough is anywhere between 18-25 hrs. Yes the decisions affect some parts of the game so choose wisely. But overall. It's comedic, upbeat, just single player fun. No BS. Just fun.    … Expand

    I confess that the trailer at E3 to the sound of "bad reputation" by Joan Jett and "Holding Out For a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler left me with instant hype. I didn't regret it, the game is amazing, graphics, storyline, gameplay, etc.

    Sehr gute Grafik, witzige Charaktere und gute Story. Spiel legt sowieso mehr wert auf Story, also viel Text, etwa 65% Story/Gelaber - 35% Kampf. Spielt sich sehr casual, stört aber nicht. Für Fortgeschrittene Spieler empfehle ich den schweren Schwierigkeitsgrad, da sogar der sehr leicht ist. Für wen es wichtig ist, es sind nicht die Filmcharaktere! Ganz andere Handlung, störte mich aber nicht

    This is a no brainer, funny, great story, amazing graphics and you can see and feel a lot of love has been put into it in general but especially the music/situational properties of this game... This game is a grand ole time, absolutely loving it! This is what the Avengers should have been, but GOTG makes up and then some for the disappointment Avengers has been.

    Guardians of the Galaxy is a much better game than Avengers. With that being said, it’s not a 10/10 game and does have some issues, mostly with combat becoming stale at about the halfway point and the enemies feeling more of a chore then an exciting challenge. If you’re a Marvel fan and want to play a game that captures the feeling of the source material, check it out. If you want an action game and are okay with the combat becoming a little stale halfway through it, check it out. It may not be the 10/10 game Marvel fans might’ve wanted but it’s not a bad game, not at all and it is enjoyable, and it makes up for the mistakes Avengers made. If their next game takes the constructive feedback about the combat getting a little too stale, then I can see their next game being a masterpiece.

    All and all this developer has learned from their mistakes and I personally did enjoy this game much more then I thought I would’ve.    … Expand

    I don't like Marvel much, don't like GotG much but what a great game. It's real good, light hearted fun. Enjoying it a lot. Very linear, which I like 'cos I don't have 60 hours to plod around an open world. A bit of light humour and a good balance of story, action and environments.

    Very nerdy game but really glad I got it.

    I thought the game was not for me. But I gave it a try because it was on the Game Pass. I finished the game in just 3 days. Once you get into the story, it's hard to get out of the game.

    As for gameplay, I was sold when I found out you only control Peter and direct the other Guardians, rather than it being a co-op experience. Everyone has a unique move set and they are all useful. Outside of combat, there is platforming, minor exploration, and numerous action scenes reminiscent of the Uncharted series. Also, you will make choices that affect certain scenes. Early on, you sell a “monster” to a collector and what you choose drastically affects what happens.

    The game isn’t perfect though. The story gets a little too weird for my taste and it drags on towards the end. I also encountered small glitches that forced me to reload checkpoints. Nevertheless, if you have an affinity for the movies, playing this game is a no brainer.    … Expand

    Pretty good game with interesting story. The only downside is that it doesn't keep true to the movies lore and the characters looks are not matching the actors - it took some getting used to for MCU fan.

The story is driven from the comic books I believe so you will notice very quickly that it's different from the movies but this does not mean its bad, in fact this story is so much better and the characters really made me feel like I care about what they are saying, the dialogue is great and can be very funny however, it can be cut short very often if you try to progress too fast so it is highly advise to take things slow and stop to smell the roses so you can get the most out of the narrative, the game does rewards and opens new (hilarious) dialogue for you exploring the secret areas, unlock cool cosmetics and obtain scraps to use for upgrades and some have better impact to the mechanics, way better than marvel avengers game, sadly the disliking of Avengers game made this one unpopular to buy and I agree that The Avengers video game really was a let down and made me steer clear from this game when it came out, hence why they put it on xbox game pass hoping to get enough people to like it so we can have a sequel! It is rare that a game makes me want to collect and complete 100% of the game it's really that enjoyable, give this a try it is very much worth your time and money. The reason why I didn't give it a 10 because the bugs ruined some of the moments for me but they are going to patch them so it's definitely still worth getting.… Expand

    Just play the game and it will be worth every second of your time when i first downloaded the game i was a bit skeptical coz the same publisher launched marvel avengers and we all know that game is not even good but man was i relieved after booting the game for the first time that this game is nothing like marvel avengers and it turned out to be a great game i liked everything about the game from story to upgrade system to combat and so on. And yes kudos to xbox game pass because if it was not on game pass i would never have played the game coz i was not willing to spend my money on the could be great/good game launched by the same publisher as marvel avengers. Just a minor spoiler though i did not like rocket complaining and disagreeing too much with peter it goes to a point where it becomes annoying.     Great writing, very funny and fun game. Game is set in a slightly different timeline than the films which make it feel new and more interesting. Could maybe had a more in depth customisation, levelling up system of the characters but overall very enjoyable.

    Great grafi, very good synchronisation (in german), great gameplay and sounds. only a few bugs where u have to restart the game or characters starts flying. A few voices are sometimes Interruping someone else. But overall, a great game with great story.

    - Great achievement design. You can get them all in one play through if you are intentional with collectibles (which are not excessive).
    - The combat is very fun. You play as Star Lord but command the whole team with special abilities and group combos. It is very satisfying and fun. Ability progression is perfectly balanced throughout the game. Love the combat!
    - Movement feels great.
    - The villain is awesome and very comic book accurate!
    - The cast is easily the best part. You will love this version of the guardians. There is a ton of heart and growth amongst each member throughout the game and their ability progression is tied to them overcoming past struggles. Really well done in the character department.
    - This game is also hilarious. I love funny games (Sunset Overdrive and High on Life for example). I consistently laughed through the whole game. Great writing.

    Negatives
    - The end drags on for a laugh or two and it hurts the pacing of a otherwise great final fight.

    Amazing game. Best characters that I have seen in a game for a long time. They are very authentic, funny and you feel with them. Great visuals, too. The game even has a replay potential for me, which is very rare.

    Even with a couple of technical shortcomings and the fact that the game needs a few patches to correct them, Eidos Montreal made a masterpiece with a lot of love and attention that will be remembered for all time. Marvel fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief and indulge in the new space adventures of Peter Quill’s gang.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the best Marvel games ever released. It has a deep original story that becomes personal with every choice you make , a combat system that may start slow but holds some of the best moments of teamwork and explosive action, and amazing graphics and soundtrack. If you’re a Marvel fan, this is a game you’ll enjoy.

    Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy could’ve easily ended up being a lacklustre attempt at recreating what makes this group of oddballs so endearing to the Marvel community, but that’s not the case. The acting is top drawer, with a script in place that can make you laugh one minute and bring a tear to your eye the next.
