It's a game that delivers: it doesn't stand out or break new ground, but it manages to keep us engaged, encouraging us to keep moving forward. It may not be suitable for everyone, and is more geared toward die-hard fans of the soulsvania genre ; a winding road, no doubt, for those who dare to take it.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is a high-quality action-RPG that blends metroidvania and souls-like elements with impressive cohesion. Strong exploration, deep combat, and standout presentation give it a clear identity, despite some repetitiveness and a less-than-polished launch. Packed with secrets, side quests, and optional bosses, it's a rewarding experience for fans of the genre - and for anyone seeking a fresh challenge.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is a solid game, with a lot of fun on offer. The combat is nicely paced, adding depth as you get better equipped, and while the battling remains a little too numb, you do get used to the quirks of the way it feels. With a decent story to follow, and a lot of ground to cover, Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree should well last you a good while.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is a Soulslike fan’s must-play, and could be a good option for fans to cut their teeth on if other titles seem too difficult.

Mandragora: Whispers of the Witch Tree is an ambitious action RPG with solid art direction and deep character customisation. The richly detailed world, increasing difficulty, multiple gameplay systems and numerous secrets hidden throughout the levels make for a captivating game. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, Mandragora suffered from a major save issue, which made the game unplayable. Additionally, the difficulty may discourage some players, but it is possible to adjust enemy damage and health. All in all, the title remains very interesting for demanding RPG fans, and we can only recommend it since the update.
