Don't be fooled by its perfect artistic style, which hooks us at first sight, because it is much more than a pretty game. It has a combat system that reminds us of soulslike games and, in addition, its difficulty (adjustable) offers us a level of challenge worthy of any player.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is the peak of its genre as it brilliantly combines story, exploration, music and combat in a beautifully organized world.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a top-quality adventure, capable of providing many hours of fun for a wide audience. A game that makes the essentiality of the control system, the beauty of the puzzles and the increasingly articulated exploration its strong points, all enhanced by an extraordinary graphic realization and a simple storyline but, at the same time, capable of touching on important themes.

I’ve been jonesing to play Kena: Bridge of Spirts since its release on other platforms so I was super excited to finally get to play it. Luckily, I think it lived up to the hype. I really only had the visuals to rely on and they are some of the best in gaming. The combat was something I didn’t look into beforehand but ended up enjoying how simple it was. For those who enjoy beautiful action-adventure games with a high emphasis on storytelling, I can’t recommend Kena: Bridge of Spirts enough.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits feels like a blast from the past. We simply don’t get a lot of games like this anymore, when they used to be a dime a dozen. The visual fidelity and outstanding production values round out an excellent package, and I think everyone should check this game out. I am happy to see it finally make its way onto other platforms, even after three years I am sure there are some people who haven’t taken the plunge. Don’t skip this one, it is well worth your time and money.

But overall, it is a very nice experience that exudes a certain Disney charm and - with the exception of minor performance issues - plays almost perfectly on Microsoft consoles.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is very high quality and incredibly beautiful for the indie scene. It combines a simple story and uncomplicated puzzles with well-developed combat mechanics, while offering time-tested solutions at the same time.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an absolutely stunning game on the eyes and ears, but is perhaps a little too much style over substance. While there’s nothing inherently wrong with the mechanics, they can at times feel fairly shallow and archaic, but thankfully things don’t really get too repetitive or boring, and what you get in the overall experience more than makes up for that.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits was never a revelation, and it still isn't, but it is, nonetheless, a gorgeous, engaging action-adventure title that Xbox players now have the perfect opportunity to dive into.

The game is just a blast to look and listen to, which pardons some of the less impressive combat encounters and the play-it-safe game design. It’s not a game that reinvents anything, but it sets out to do specific things, all of which it does pretty well. Fans of third person action adventure games should definitely consider playing Kena: Bridge of Spirits, with accessibility options and a story mode difficulty allowing even newcomers to videogames to enjoy this colourful, cartoon-esque journey.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a game that has something for everyone. Some may love the story, others perhaps the combat. A few people may just want to explore the world and put the difficulty on easy. Each element of the game is done well enough to create an all round very good game.

All-in-all, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a beautiful and wholly pleasant adventure with a gentle spirit, a meaningful story and delightful little Rot creatures. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more pleasing-looking game on Xbox hardware, and that's a wonderful attribute to have.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a super solid debut for Ember Labs that serves up an enchanting atmosphere, slick and challenging combat and some very cute companions in the form of the ROT. It does all feel a little muddled in who it’s trying to attract at times, with simple puzzles and streamlined upgrade options attached to combat that pulls no punches. However, a respectful run-time, stellar visuals and a procession of very decent boss scraps ensure that this one still manages to find itself on our recommend pile.

Thanks to an impeccable art direction, Kena’s journey to the sacred mountain left us both amazed and impressed. Additionally to adding the right amount of ingredients to its recipe, Ember Lab has also brought a real sense of harmony to it.
