Nov 13, 2023Jusant has utterly wowed me these past few evenings. The simple but effectively done climbing mechanic is supremely rewarding to use, giving us a great sense of accomplishment even though really it’s probably harder to fail than succeed. Combine this satisfying gameplay with a touching, well told tale and some stunning audio visual work, and you have a game that is all but essential playing in my eyes – Game Pass subscription or not.

Oct 31, 2023Sometimes you can just tell when a game is ‘special’, and Jusant gives this feeling almost from its onset. With stunning vistas, a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack, and relaxing gameplay, take a few hours out of a weekend and experience its gorgeous ascent.
-
Nov 1, 2023Jusant is a bewitching experience; a meditative ascent which conveys its themes of hope, inevitability and perseverance effectively alongside puzzling gameplay that pushes players forward with just the right amount of challenge.
-
Nov 2, 2023Jusant is a welcome and new experience: an action/adventure game without combat and a platformer without death-inducing falls. Still, Jusant captures the intensity of high-elevation rock climbing and the wonder of exploring a strange world. The gameplay, sound design, and aesthetic will capture you for the brisk 6 hour runtime and will leave you wanting more.
-
Nov 2, 2023Jusant is a mesmerizing and almost melodic experience on the Xbox Series X and is probably the must play game of the year.
-
Oct 31, 2023A near masterpiece that should be played by anyone and everyone. If you’re after a narrative, it nails it. If you’re looking for a serene game to kick back with for an evening or two, equally so. And if you just want to go up, there’s not a better game to do it with than with Jusant.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant is peaceful and relaxing, easing you into a quiet mood of contemplation and wonder. It's beautiful from every angle, engaging to play, and tells an intriguing tale filled with a surprising amount of magic. The occasional bug, stutter, or moment of frustration only briefly interrupt Jusant's aura of calm.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant has a lot on its mind and says very little with no words. The same can be said of its gameplay, which squeezes an incredible amount of expressive immersion out of very few simple mechanics.
-
Nov 2, 2023Jusant is Don't Nod best game since Life is Strange despite of being completely different. Its relaxing climbing mechanic combines perfectly with a thrilling story and one of the best soundtracks of the year in gaming.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant is a courageous, intense and detailed work. Full of originality, with a brilliant and intelligent plot, it tells of a cross-section of the world that is explored through long crossings and climbs that are always different, but still complex. Strengthened by an exciting, engaging and well-implemented game structure, it is proof of the passion of Do n't Nod, who is preparing to leave his mark in a panorama that he has known for seventeen years.
-
Jan 31, 2024Jusant is a delightful platforming experience. Furthermore, the atmospheric audio and spectacular setting are captivating. However, a short playtime holds it back from becoming a classic indie title.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant then – a beautiful, relaxing adventure that players can tackle at their own pace. Exploring every nook and cranny of this world, and charting your own path is something that should be savoured, and you should absolutely add it to your download queue via Xbox Game Pass.

Nov 8, 2023Jusant is a gentle game that'll have you happily climb up its awe-inspiring world and once it's over, you'll think fondly back at the journey.
-
Nov 3, 2023Jusant is a meditative gem that allows you to savor both the tranquility and the beauty of the surroundings, as well as the adrenaline rush of scaling high cliffs. It captivates with its beauty, mystery, and exploration, instilling an unwavering desire to climb higher until the very last ledge. It's just a shame that the metaphorical summit didn't reach the lofty heights that may have seemed possible through the misty clouds.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant is a gem to see and play; coherent, delicate, thoughtful. The splendid art direction, coupled with a fascinating and magnetic world building, clashes with a limited gameplay layering and a short overall length, but if you love narrative adventures and poetic and inspired game worlds, you will definitely want to play it.
-
Oct 31, 2023What a climb! Without saying a word, Jusant manages to make us feel many things and that makes it a very good contemplative and poetic game. But you still have to not let yourself be disturbed by the few inaccuracies in gameplay and the lack of pressure... Despite some flashes and a welcome relaxing aspect, it doesn't mean that the climb of Jusant pleases everyone. But we quickly forgive its faults when the trip is worth the detour. Whether you want to gain height, reconnect with nature or relax in an exotic world, Jusant may be the game for you.
-
Oct 31, 2023Don’t Nod shows that they distanced themselves from the formula of Life is Strange. But fortunately they kept their strength of storytelling. Jusant is a great mountain adventure that is perfect for the cold autumn days with a great climbing system and a lot of melancholy.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant is a lovely surprise. A short and sweet narrative adventure with a spellbinding tone of natural melancholy that kept me climbing upward in search of new discoveries. Even with its lack of dialogue amidst a world I’d never seen before, it still pulled me in, weaving together a hopeful story of perseverance and forgiveness that grew more and more pertinent the higher I ascended. This is the best game Don't Nod has made since Life is Strange, but also unlike anything the developer has ever produced before.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant's creative take on climbing and a minimalistic approach to storytelling make it one of the boldest titles from Don't Nod so far.
-
Oct 31, 2023A gorgeous fantasy journey enlivened by some thrilling rock-climbing.
-
Oct 31, 2023Jusant is a strong entry from DON'T NOD that offers a chilled out experience with a balanced sense of discovery, challenge, and beauty.
-
Nov 6, 2023Jusant has all the ingredients of the best indie games. It shows with how much love it was made in its touching story, impressive sound design and one of a kind gameplay. But Jusant so relying on its climbing that unfortunately you will not be able to enjoy it if you don't like the way the game treats it, and the boring first half hour doesn't do justice to the rest of the game. Beyond that its a smooth climbing to great heights which make the game a very cool experience.
-
Oct 31, 2023The high point of Jusant is definitely its well-designed climbing mechanics, which are endlessly enjoyable aside from some occasional (but minor) issues. Sadly we weren't quite as taken by the game's story, but we still wanted to reach its summit regardless. It's the kind of Game Pass title we think some fans will absolutely fall in love with, while others will bounce off it pretty quickly. In any case, it's a worthy addition to Xbox's fantastic subscription service.

Nov 6, 2023Jusant is one of the best video game experiences of the year. Maybe its message doesn't get through to you, maybe the climbing doesn't call to you, or maybe the lowpoly art style doesn't appeal to you directly... But it is undeniable that Don't Nod gives us a jewel of just a few hours of duration that deserves all the recognition we can give it. Its demo already pointed out ways, but the final game is as well rounded as the most optimistic of us assumed. [Recommended]

Nov 2, 2023Jusant won us over with its originality. Restful, poetic and artistic, Don’t Nod’s game seized our attention and held it right through to its conclusion, without ever boring us. Boasting a message that is more relevant than ever in terms of ecology and the future of humanity, Jusant is a resolutely militant work. It is as pleasing to the eye as it is to the ears, and provides a great sensation as regards the climbing. Finally, its melancholy and message of hope are particularly compelling: a real breath of fresh air in these suffocating times!
