    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've never played a Harry Potter(like) game and watched 4 HP movies (max). I pre-orderd this game in Sep 2022. Feb 7th it was finally time, what a game thats what I can say. It started already by character customization, no it's not a character creation like Elden Ring but it's good well rounded not to much not to less. Then i started the story and wow! The world is open, wide, and unbelievably beautiful. The character are fun atleast the one you can interact with. Hogwarts itself is huge i've played for a while now but i maybe saw 10% of it. Why a 9/10 then you ask? There is some glitches/ bugs here and there especially with the graphics it's most notable if you play on max settings (fidelity with raytracing) but that's it the rest of the game is pure joy and fellows keep in mind it's a game and it's been a long time i started a game and played trough it with a big smile and i cannot put it down.

    The most boring game ever. Empty open world, stupid plot, senseless dialogues, boring and unlikeble characters. Monotonous battle system. Many bugs and bad optimization. This is a 3D Hogwarts excursion, but not a game.

    Amazing game. The combat, the visuals and the world are beautiful. The story, although not the most unique, gives exactly what the game promised to give: the experience of being a wizarding student at hogwarts, discovering its castle and surrounding lands and learning to become a master at using magic, all the while learning new lore about the world. 10/10

    The visual component of the game is a delight. The gameplay is extremely average. The rest is just poorly done.

    Absolutely excellent game. I haven't read the books since I was a young teenager, and was on the fence. But after seeing someone stream it, I had to dive in and - no regrets! Incredibly fun, exploring the castle is great

    Everything a potter fan could have asked for. Wonderful open world filled with the magical elements we hoped/loved, it's a teal pleasure to walk in the rooms and corridors of Hogwarts and watch all the details programmers have put in. GOTY !

    Absolutely incredible the amount off detail in this game is beyond my imagination. Superb effort by the Devs on this game and all the writers and mission designers. each night after work when I go on it blows me away with the content it keeps giving me! One of the best games ever made hands down!

    About the game though. A beautiful game to experience. It's clear a lot of time went into designing Hogwarts and the area surrounding it. The amount of detail in the game and the graphics are just phenomenal! On top of that the atmosphere with ambience and music is on point. There is a heavy focus on exploration which just feels well done and rewarding with a good mix of puzzles. The combat is very good as well. The beginning obviously is quite basic since you only have a few spells but the further you get in the game with more spells unlocked and with more talents available, the combat just feels very smooth and satisfying. Difficulty is just right for me on normal, at times a bit challenging and at times not so much. The customization of your character is also pretty extensive with a good amount of options to choose from in the beginning and quite a big wardrobe of cosmetics to collect throughout the game. Quests are varied enough for me, they don't feel repetitive and I enjoy doing all the little side things the game has to offer. About the story I can't say much because I'm not super far into it but so far it's fine although nothing groundbreaking here.

    Overall a very enjoyable Adventure/RPG game to play, especially if you love the Harry Potter universe!    … Expand

    Love the game been waiting for years for a game from the harry potter world, a must-play for any Harry Potter fan.
    The only downside for me was how few companions you can interact with and how limited it was, I would have loved it more if it had more school experiences and classes.

    This game is beautifully crafted! The world is immersive and the amount that can be explored sings to my inner child’s heart. I mean just being able to run around the halls of Hogwarts to the extent that you can is amazing. I really hope they make a version of this for VR because I would SO SO SO buy that in a heart beat.     This game was made for Harry Potter fans, book & movie fans. The gameplay is smooth and the graphics look amazing. The map is huge and has so much detail in it. There is so much to do and customize, I already know I'm going to send hundreds of hours playing this game. You can tell that the people that made this game really cared about the project.     Great game and great world design fanaticism storyline brings me back to my child hood and I amd just so excited to be back into one of my favorites franchasie and that we finally got the game we deserve

    I really wanted to love this game, but as time goes on I never find myself wanting to play it and when I do play it I find myself wanting to do something else. This won’t be the case for everybody so let me lay out what was disappointing and enjoyable to me personally:

    The good: -atmosphere is incredible -combat is fun, satisfying, and engaging -music is both original and reminiscent of    I really wanted to love this game, but as time goes on I never find myself wanting to play it and when I do play it I find myself wanting to do something else. This won’t be the case for everybody so let me lay out what was disappointing and enjoyable to me personally:

    The good: -atmosphere is incredible
    -combat is fun, satisfying, and engaging
    -music is both original and reminiscent of the original HP score
    -no game breaking bugs
    -riding the broom is f’n sweet

    The bad:
    -frame rate issues on fidelity mode
    -constant pop-in on performance and fidelity mode
    -constant fade to black and loading creating disengagement -piss poor story (couldn’t care less about what happens for whatever reason or to who)
    -NPCs/characters are as robotic and lifeless as anything I’ve ever encountered
    -the open world provides little to no reason to explore it outside of hardline quest objectives
    -every combat situation can be solved the same way -holds your hand all the way through as if you’ve never played a video game
    -level locked areas that provide no reason for being restricted other than *you’re not a high enough level*
    -can only attack designated *enemies* -UI is needlessly convoluted (small gripe)

    Overall, the game is basically assassins creed with a wand and broom at Hogwarts. If you like AC you’ll like this, if you hate AC (like me) you’ll hate it. I could care less about the controversy surrounding the game (obvi, because I bought it) I just straight up didn’t find it fun or engaging overall. It doesn’t bring anything new to the table from a mechanical perspective and lacks charm from a character and storytelling perspective.    … Expand

    I wanted to like this game. I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies and love open world games. The graphics is also amazing in his game, love the Ray tracing mode. So, why the low score? Not sure I can put my finger on any specific thing, generally I was bored.

    Some factors are the never ending tutorials and hand holding. Way too many dialogues. Even though it's and open world game, each task    I wanted to like this game. I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies and love open world games. The graphics is also amazing in his game, love the Ray tracing mode. So, why the low score? The story is a big yawn, childish and unmemorable. I feel the game is aimed at children, the movies were darker and had more depth to them, reaching kids and adults alike. The battles were also very monotone. Same thing over and over. And beating the enemies has about the same depth as popping a balloon. They have no character, and I did not like the attack pattern involving teleporting in right next to you all the time. A safe gift for your child I guess...    … Expand

    Non ci sono le romance. Mancanza molto grave secondo me, ma parlo a nome di tutti. E apprendere che gli sviluppatori non le hanno messe solo perché gli scoccia, aggrava la situazione ancora di più.

    Super happy with how this game turned out. It looks gorgeous on my Series X and LGC2. Story is good, exploration is on another level of fun. Would recommend 100%. PS I bought 3 copies. Doing my part to make the boycotters salty. One for me, one for the kid and one for a friend I owed a favor to. :D

    not a very good game. Combat get boring real quick. not a lot of spells and most of them are not even for combat. Wizard game and you can not even be dark wizard because game has linear and boring story. don't buy

    Hogwarts Legacy is littered with small niggles which, when stacked together, make the game feel like it was released over a decade ago. While the castle is a large enough area to explore, the monotony of repeating quests and tasks makes the game feel last-generation and boring over time. Hogwarts Legacy could already use some DLC's in order to expand the size of the world, add more complex spells, and introduce a wider array of enemies. If you are a power-nerd looking for a new and complete RPG, you will have to wait for Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, coming in April 2023. While most critics agree that Hogwarts Legacy is near perfect, due to the incomplete feeling of the game and lack of a solid story arc, it feels more Muggle than magic.

    Hogwarts Legacy is an extremely fun adventure, despite having some graphic and narrative difficulties. In the vast open world, which makes it possible to explore popular locations and live like a typical Hogwarts student, you will face interesting challenges in the path of unraveling the main mystery of the game. Even though it's an exciting adventure, even a muggle like me manages, at a certain point, to miss a greater magic to deliver everything that the fans expected.
