It’s not a cinematic movie game which makes it fun because it still has arcade vibes. The music soundtrack really keeps you going to. This game has Rick and Morty all over it.     The game is awesome progressing through it while getting new weapons and upgrades is great if i could point out one flaw it would be that it didn’t have to much enemy variety but it never really bothered me that much and i enjoyed it the whole way through

    This game is absolutely beautiful! Graphically impressive cartoons visually. The adult humor is absolutely hilarious, and the commentary never fails to surprise you! The gun play is also very fun!! I highly highly recommend this game! The critics that gave this game lower scores are crazy and don’t know what they are talking about.

    Un juego genial. Le cuesta un poco arrancar, pero cuando consigues dos o tres armas adicionales se vuelve muy agil, frenético y divertido. Muy buen sentido del humor y técnicamente no desentona. Maravilloso que gracias a GamePass no tengamos que creernos las falacias y tonterías que vienen de la prensa.

    Muy recomendado.

    I love this game. Its had me laughing frequently, the gunplay is simple but fun and the puzzles are hard enough to keep you thinking but not impossible. All round a great game and one that fans of Rick and morty in particular will relish.

    One of the worst games I’ve ever played. I noticed Xbox fans were definitely trying their best to hype this, and now that it has released, we know the truth- it’s bad. Very bad. The cringe dialogue was enough to make me stop playing it.

The gameplay is kinda boring and there are some game breaking issues. Performance wasn't great but the biggest issue is the checkpoint system. I got stuck a few hours in and it checkpointed me.     Got stuck in an infinite loading screen right before last boss. I feel like I wasted my time... Until is fixed, if ever, I can't recommend it to anyone. However, High on life Is a good game with a very specific taste of humor, either you like it on not. Enjoyable game mechanics and decent graphs. Plot is ok, nothing extraordinary.

    Quand on ne flingue pas, on saute et on s’accroche : ce n’est ici qu’un jeu de plateformes en vue subjective, rapidement ennuyeux. L’environnement est de mauvais goût et très criard… on dirait un indé en 256 couleurs ! alors qu’en vérité, c’est tout de même un peu mieux que ça.

    Mais sur consoles, du moins, il ne tient jamais ses 60 im/s et fait le yoyo : c’est très désagréable, surtout au vu de la tronche du jeu et de ses niveaux étriqués ! Enfin bref, on ne va pas y passer la nuit : ce jeu est une daube ! il s’est cru très main et très ‘marrant’… mais il est simplement con comme ses pieds !    … Expand

    This is the surprise hit of the year for me. I didn't know what to expect, but it's an absolutely hilarious game that made me very immersed. Fun action, good gameplay, incredible writing and characters, and I am not even really a fan of the creators, but they really knocked it out of the park with this one.

    High on Life was stuttering and buggy at launch. The jokes are a hit and a miss. Can get annoying but there is an option to lower the banter between you and the gun. Gameplay is basic. Story is okay. High on Life is an average at best. It's best to play gamepass than paying $60 for it. Not worth it

    I can't say for sure if you'll love this game without being a Rick and Morty fan. There's zero connection to the show beyond the voice actors and creator, but the humor is very similar. That being said, I have heard people say they aren't really into R&M but love this game. Personally, this was the best experience I've had playing on my Series X. The graphics are slick, with a style that shows a lot of creativity and love. The writing is hilarious -- honestly this is classic LucasArts level of humor (and meta-humor.) The gunplay isn't best-in-class but it's more than serviceable. Did I mention how funny this game is yet? Literally laughed out loud many, many times.

    It is SO refreshing to play an original game that has no motive beyond entertaining me and making me laugh. The AAA and Indie scene has gone very stale, hopefully some of those creative types take a break to get High on Life before making their next game. We need more entertainment focused on fun.    … Expand

    This game is nauseating, legitimately. I tried to play and couldn’t because I was so nauseated, so I had to stop. Tried to watch a steamer play it and still nauseated. I am not sick, ill or anything of the sort. I was so hyped for this game because I love the style and humour. But it’s a hard pass now. Shame.

O que mais gostei foi se movimentar com jet pack, escorregar, ficar pendurando em abelhas ou andando de ladoArmas que fazem piadas, criticam, orientam e conversam entre si ! Isso é novo, é disso que gostamos e queremos. Embora os inimigos sejam repetidos, temos vários boss. E embora os mapas/planetas sejam simples, cada um tem características que se adaptam as novas armas e suas skills.     High on Life is truly a unique game and the humor may not be for some individuals, but it was outstanding for me. I already finished the story and I hope there will be a DLC or even a sequel for it.

    The game is a lot of fun and made me laugh countless times, there were times when I paused the game to have time to hold back my laughter, as I really like the humor shown in the TV series "Rick and Morty" (the series that the game was heavily inspired).

    (Recalling that the Brazilian game market is one of the largest in the world and it is practically unacceptable that an Indie game as audacious as this one that came out at the end of 2022 comes without translation into Portuguese even though it has support for several other languages).

    I can see why people like the game. In my mind its perfect for those who want to chill out in a world they’re comfortable in, with zero stress and no worries. You can plod along, tick boxes and nothing gets out of second gear. That’s perfectly fine to be enjoyable for people.

    I gave it 5/10 because in terms of my enjoyment it’d be around a 3 but I can understand how it might be a 7/8 for people. I don’t understand how anyone could give it higher because the actual gameplay just isn’t there. I’m not saying it’s terrible but certainly not good.

    As an enjoyer of Rick and Morty hearing the same voices saying the most random things all the time: I almost felt sad for the writers because it just seemed like the dialogue was terrible improv instead of actual comedic writing. Repeating “f*ck f*ck oh f*ck man that dude is totally f*cked like whoa” isn’t comedy and sadly the game is filled with a slurry of “comedic” lines to that affect.

    Breaking the 4th wall is funny when you don’t expect it but the game is just like any recent episode of Rick & Morty, obnoxious, unfunny and attempting to be meta by pointing out the joke or a trope while it’s happening. Very underwhelming.

    Even details like the interdimensional cable which is usually funny because of the limitless possibilities of scenarios and comedy falls flat and sounds like a middle aged man was given a podcast microphone and various psychedelics…
    Overall, i think it’s a waste of time and money, for us and them. The game is visually beautiful and the concept is amazing but the story and writing are terrible and it just becomes a glorified platformer with no sense of achievement since every “unlockable” is basically given to you…    … Expand

    If you like Rick and Morty you'll like this game. If you don't then you won't like this game. It really is that simple. If that type of humor is not your thing, then stay very far away from this title. A lack of guns, mostly because each gun is alive so it would have been tough to do so many voice lines, was my biggest issue. There's only 4 guns and 1 knife in the game. While each have a secondary fire method, this really needed at least 2-3 more weapons for variety. Plus the game has a ton of bugs, both with its graphics and audio. While the game tries to make fun of these, they happen quite often enough to take you out of some scenes. I'd still recommend it, especially to those on gamepass. But you really have to determine if the like the crass and never-ending humor that Justin Roiland brings to the table. Because it's true that there's so much talking at all times it's almost unbearable, especially when characters start talking over one another.… Expand

The graphics and soundtrack are too notch, really stunning. Especially the visual style. The frame rate hold up at 60fps with very few hiccups. (Series X)

The colorful art style and graphics create an energetic and upbeat vibe. The boss fights are challenging. And the game does not overstay its welcome like an Ubisoft game. Short and sweet. This was a blast, and IEven if it's not your brand of humor, this is an outstanding FPS game. The unique weapons offer up dynamic gameplay.     Looks great on PC and Series X. If you like Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites you will enjoy this. I'm a big fan of Red Letter Media, and good bad movies, so it was cool to see that as well.

It has a fun writing, a solid story, good shooting mechanics and powerups, nice overall gameplay, cool environments and it's pretty good looking. To me, it felt like Justin Roiland's take on HALO. As crazy as it sounds. One of the gun even feels like the Needler.

    The humor is definitely not for everybody, but it's the thing that mostly kept me going. I really enjoyed it. The game, as a shooter, felt really competent as well (and I loved the jetpack). From platforming to fighting hordes of enemies, they managed to get a good pace going, packing funny jokes, intense moments and collectables all around the areas. Besides, there's just a lot of things to do in such a short game. For example, you can actually watch entire movies on a cinema or on your living room. It's quite nice.

    The thing is that there's not a lot to say past that point.

    I had a lot of fun with it, but that's it. I wasn't a fan of some of the boss fights, using the other guns (aside from Creature) didn't feel as cool as using Kenny, they reused too much of the same environments for missions, not every NPC you interact has something interesting going and the ending kinda just... ends, you know?

    High On Life is a pretty solid game. It's not impressive, it's not for everyone and definitely won't be your highlight FPS, but it is a nice fun shooter. If you have nothing else to play, maybe try this one out.    … Expand

    Its short and sweet, it took me around 16 hours to complete. It's a very funny game, even people who are not fans of FPS games will like this game because of the humor and cheese dialogues.

    A must play game without any doubt.

    Overall I enjoyed my time with high on life. The metroidvania gameplay kept things interesting. I was surprised by the quality of this production in terms of graphics and animation. Especially compared to previous lower budget squanch game outings.

    On series x I encountered various game breaking bugs. Thankfully the restart checkpoint feature fixed most of these for me.

    If I'm honest I probably wouldn't have bought this but it was a day one gamepass release and surprisingly good so I played through to the end. It's quite long overall around 15-30 hrs depending on how much you like the metroidvania collectathon tucked into its DNA.

    I found the soundtrack to be too much and ended up muting it to focus on the humourous dialogue instead. The jokes come thick and fast - it's kind of a 'throw everything at the wall and who cares what sticks attitude'. And so some of it was hilarious, some just plain messed up. It goes without saying if you're not a fan of Justin roilands brand of surrealist, often sexualised humour then this game will not entertain you.    … Expand

Some secret upgrades for guns, secret areas, a secret boss or two, etc. Plays like Doom, gotta move constantly so you don't get hit, health regens, best gun is the pistol, tho. I killed pretty much every guy with the pistol, other guns just don't compare to it until you get the last one which is basically a BFG. Last boss fight was the hardest, all boss fights were fun.     High on Life is an enjoyable yet silly first person shooter that works on most levels. While the humour sometimes misses he target, for the most part it is quite a witty and humouress story with interesting protagonists and antagonists to be found along the way as you explore this immersive alien shooter. Definitely a game for those looking for something unique yet different in the first person shooter genre.

    Humor is sometimes tough to get right. You have to pace it right and you shouldn’t overdo it. Justin Roiland and co. unfortunately throw it at you in mindless spades and hope something sticks. And underneath it all? Just a very average shooter.
