We are facing if not the best, one of the best works of Tequila Works on many levels. Gylt achieves an excellent setting, with a story that engages and simple gameplay that makes us focus on what is important, its history and the message about bullying and its consequences that it leaves us. Although it may be simple for the most experienced of the genre, it will undoubtedly delight those who are looking for an interesting adventure that leaves a mark after playing it.

GYLT provides a solid entry point into the horror video game genre, especially for those who are not typically drawn to such games. The presence of a child protagonist, simple controls, and relatable themes of bullying and self-worth make it accessible to a wide audience. While there are moments of tension and scares, the horror elements are relatively mild compared to other games in the genre.

Gylt manages to create monsters with very real roots in a survival horror that is very different from anything you have played before.

You'll probably find that GYLT is one of those games you'll struggle to put down, ripe for play with the family, particularly as the gameplay rarely challenges. Yes, the story may be dark, but GYLT is not gory and the visuals have a great look to them.

Making Gylt cross-platform was a wise choice from Tequila Works. The game that was exclusive to Stadia now has the opportunity to reach more players, and raise awareness for bullying. Despite the stealth and combat mechanics being very basic, the story that sustains the action is interesting enough to hold us until the end, making the experience extremely satisfying.

After the narrative excellence of Rime, we had high expectations for this new title from Tequila Works. Unfortunately, Gylt fails to match its big brother. The lack of risk-taking in the gameplay and in the construction of the puzzles leads to a rather plain game. Due to a lack of finesse between what is narrated and what is suggested, the chemistry is not right and many players will miss out on what the developers wanted to convey. As Stadia's sole exclusive when it was first released in 2019, the title probably suffered from the weight that was on its shoulders at the time. We hope that for its next release, the studio will be able to fully express its talent.
