Long time Race Driver: GRID (It'll always be known as that to me) fan here and I have loved the series since the first game and even as recent as last year I replayed the first game and it felt like it had a lot of personality and soul and joy invested into it.

Can I say the same for GRID: Legends. Not really. While not necessarily a bad game, in fact the physics engine is a massive

While not necessarily a bad game, in fact the physics engine is a massive step up from 2019 it feels...Soulless. I don't feel like I'm progressing a team here I feel as if I'm just going through events one after the other.
Every Grid since GRID 2 has felt the same and I feel Codies have lost their way with the series. My Advice? Go back to Race Driver: GRID. Re-learn what made that game so great. Build on it.

I'd Love to see more team customisation and more of a feeling of progression.

This is a series I have a real soft spot for but I'm afraid that its slowing becoming a cookie cutter cash in.

It's not a bad Racing game at all, but - which is the reason to buy this now, instead of waiting for an 20 Dollar sale? Average graphics, average gameplay, the Story is better than expected and i'm not the kind of player to like such Storytelling in an Racing game, but hey, it's acceptable! We better do not talk about the sound.

City races with much bling bling, fireworks, airplane

City races with much bling bling, fireworks, airplane shows... my godness. It's ok if you see it as Arcade racer, but you won't find anything that shows High Quality in this game. It's more like the game's hiding its weaknesses behind vivid colors and intense effects.

And yeah, that's the a reason i can't say "Buy this one". The game is not bad, but compared to Codemasters earlier games, and exactly like Dirt 5 - this game is nothing more than a lifeless shell, without any competition in handling, driving and all the things that made Codemasters for the best Racing game studio they once habe been for sure. It's an typical AAA Racing game, with to much focus on a "Show" beside the Race track, but with nothing worth to seek deeper, because you just jump into the water and reach the ground at the same time.

Good old GRID, game keeps the complete arcade feeling as previous tittles, but has short comings on technical aspects, framerate stuttering and some options not working as intended, replay mode allows me just to drive the car on start line

Excellent presentation, it looks great especially on next gen machines and pc, however.....it feels soulless. By that I mean when you hold the controller in this game the feedback is none existent even when you turn all vibration up to 150. By this I mean it gives you feedback on turns and major bumps in the road, but you can't feel the road surface, so it feels like your floating aroundExcellent presentation, it looks great especially on next gen machines and pc, however.....it feels soulless. It destroys the game for me I can't enjoy it as a result. Expand

And if it's racing with a story that you're after, The Crew and Need for Speed franchisers have you well covered with their mix of outlandish, goofy storytelling and arcade style racing. Perhaps if Legends cut the story entirely, pared down the overly long career mode, and simply focused on being a multidisciplinary arcade racing game, it might find that niche it once occupied on the shelf, back when it was simply known as TOCA.

All too often racing games follow the standard formula. Throw some fast cars and a bunch of tracks together, and gamers will probably enjoy themselves in silence. But when developers step off the beaten path, something magical can happen. This is the case with GRID Legends. Despite its shortcomings – the low difficulty, to name just one thing - it is one of the more enjoyable racing games of the moment.

GRID Legends opted this time to innovate with a story mode that feels somewhat unnecessary. However, it is important to mention that the game did not neglect any of the other aspects that make up a very attractive package for any fan of the genre and a great entry point for the curious and younger drivers.
