Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is an exceptional sequel that doesn't disappoint. It is witty, enjoyable, and wonderfully balanced. The introduction of a new protagonist adds energy. Furthermore, the reliance on traditional mechanics makes this a familiar and comfortable game to play. If you love the original or classic platforming games, you won't want to miss out.

There are some tiny oddities here, but this is an otherwise cracking modern-day platforming experience. Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is one of those games that you will have some superb fun with, constantly in awe of the new mechanics that are introduced, marvelling at the sheer variety of stages and ideas found within.

Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is an adorable sequel that really turns the fun dial up to 11. If you thought Pablo's solo adventure was great then you'll absolutely love his world-hopping journey with the oddly grumpy Luna by his side.

With improved movement mechanics, new dog Luna’s abilities, and a lot of content to get to, Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is a better overall game than its predecessor. The optional levels are a bit easy, and Luna makes playing as Pablo feel a bit weak, but this is still an easy recommendation for anyone looking for some pure, fun platforming action.

I thought that Grapple Dog was one of the best 2D platformers I’d played in ages, and this sequel absolutely lives up to its pedigree. Whatever the developers want to do next with these characters, it’s going to be worth tagging along.
