Floppy Knights combines card game and turn-based tactics to create an experience that demands to be played. And it’s on Game Pass now!

Mixing the good old turn-based strategic with the deck building card game is a brilliant idea, perfectly performed by Rose City Games in Floppy Knights. Between tactical thinking and the surprises of the card battle, all represented in an interesting fashion, this is a game that can be addictive, if you bear its not so lively rhythm.

Floppy Knights has the same nagging demand to play that Advance Wars has: to satisfy a sub-objective, to progress the campaign, to unlock a particular unit. Even as we write now, we have the urge to get floppy with Floppy Knights. If you’ve got a turn-based bone in your body, we’d encourage you to do the same.

Floppy Knights is a fun, whimsical, and colourful deck-building title. Its story is silly and its mechanics are easy to understand. What's more, it is moreish, challenging, and can be played casually.

Floppy Knights is a fun game that is really close to being a great one. Its major flaw for me is how long everything takes. From mission length to waiting on enemy turns, and the slow loading of the menu system it can be a drag.

If this were a physical card game, we suspect it's be the kind people buy booster packs for solely to admire the art within, and never to play with. [Issue#374, p.120]

Surprisingly fun game that caught me by surprise. If you're looking for a laid back mini strategy game - this is it.

It's got an interesting gameplay and so far it seems fairly deep in terms of different deck builds and scenarios.

it doesn't feel as polished as the other games i mentioned but its pretty close. Main things detracting from the score are the very skippable story (way too much dialog), general slowness of the game, poor optimization for xbox that causes some slowdowns and the deck builds are a little too random.

The randomness issue is due to a couple of design decisions that i think mostly work but sometimes make the game frustrating. For instance, you might not be able to spawn a unit on your first turn or you get stuck on a turn with all attack cards but no way to move. This is a rare occurrence though and mostly the game is fun in that way of "figuring out" an optimized way to use all your cards and get out of jams.

overall, a must play for strategy fans on gamepass
