Fast and Furious: Arcade Edition is fun for a little while but wears out its welcome far too soon. You can unlock everything there is to see in an hour, and the unfair AI makes replaying it not all that much fun. I loved the romp, but at $30 this is a hard one to recommend. It just lacks content, and the brutal AI kills any replayability. Combine that with no online mode and this title falls short of a must-have.

Fast & Furious Arcade Edition does exactly what it promises, bringing the original arcade formula to home systems without any additions or compromises. Adrenaline-fueled races, exotic settings, explosions, fiery trails, jumps that defy the laws of physics: it has everything you would expect to find. In its frankness, Fast & Furious Arcade Edition offers everything right away: eight vehicles, six tracks, and lots of small doses of adrenaline to take in even when you don't have much time. What you see is what you get.

The big problem is that racing, while seemingly breathtaking and urgent, is actually a little dull in Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition.

Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition is a fast and hectic racing game. It can be played alone or locally with another. Though I became tired of the shallow action, my kids enjoyed the simplicity and vibrant graphics.

If you played Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition in an actual arcade using the enormous cabinet with all its incredible bells and whistles you’d probably have a great time. The game plays really well and is fun at its core. The problem comes with the complete lack of content and unlockable extras. Six tracks that each take about two minutes is just not enough for a game with this asking price. The unlockable cars don’t help either because they are the same cars again just with three times as many manual boosts.

This is an arcade-perfect port that is fast, flashy and furious. Sadly, this also has no extra frills and struggles to justify an afternoon of play.

The seemingly eternal car saga is back in the world of videogames with an entry that feels empty and totally detached from the source in some key elements.

Despite the incredibly janky physics, the shockingly low amount of content, the outdated graphics… Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition can be pretty enjoyable. The high speeds, the adrenaline-filled courses, the retro vibes… in short, I still had fun. I can not recommend a game like this, however. It’s way too short, way too unpolished, way too expensive for what it offers. Thus, you might want to wait for some patches and some deep discounts before joining this family.

Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition delivers fast, explosive racing that recalls Split/Second and Burnout, offering short bursts of fun—especially in local split-screen. However, its limited content and weak adaptation from arcade to PC and consoles make the experience fade quickly.

It wasn't enough that mechanically Fast & Furious: Arcade Edition is an over-the-top yawner, but when gameplay and narrative-wise the game doesn't really have any logic, let alone much sense, I don't know what the creators were thinking.
