The key takeaway with F1 Manager 2023 is that your enjoyment of the game will differ immensely depending on your knowledge of F1. What is here, as long as you are a real F1 nerd, is capable of captivating for hours on end. However, with niggling issues within Race Moments, a lack of sense of progression, and the engineering side difficult to get to grips with, F1 Manager 2023 is the nichest of niche titles.

F1 Manager 2023 doesn't represent the evolutionary step that could be expected after Frontier's good debut in the difficult world of Formula One management games. The refinements are marginal and could easily have been made with a patch job on the previous title. Furthermore, the additions are limited and do not significantly improve the gaming experience. While overall a better game than last year, it cannot be recommended to anyone who already owns F1 Manager 2022.

With F1 Manager 23, we were hoping that Frontier Developments would make some big improvements and iron out the imperfections present in F1 Manager 22. As regards those improvements, it goes without saying that we are in for a treat, as there are plenty of new features that add more fun, depth and immersion to this management game, which remains fantastic in many respects. The graphics inevitably drag the title down, which smears all the new features. On the other hand, we are still having just as much fun playing the game. So, yes, the British studio is offering us a major update rather than a complete overhaul, but that should not hold back fans of the genre.
