Mar 20, 2024After multiple tens of hours playing, you may still find yourself unable to put Dragon’s Dogma 2 down - one more quest, one more fight, and then an hour or two has passed. If you liked the first game, or if you are looking for an action RPG with epic fights, then Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a must-have.

Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma fans rejoice! This second entry in the series, as much a remake as it is a sequel, absolutely nails everything it sets out to achieve. You can feel the desire to perfect every aspect of the game that we got in 2012 here, with slicker combat, a more engaging pawn system, an incredible world stuffed full of amazing beasties and a general vibe that just begs you to slow down, take your time, and enjoy the majestic adventure ahead. If you're in the market for a fantastic RPG with the power to fully transport you to a world of gritty fantasy and magical friends, we reckon this might just be right up your street.

Mar 20, 2024It may be early, and there may still be some huge releases to come in 2024, but Dragon's Dogma 2 is without doubt a contender for Game of the Year and has set a high bar for its competitors.

Apr 4, 2024It’s a vast and fascinating open world asking to be explored, populated by deadly animals who owe their existence to tasty encounters. The fighting is exciting, and the vocations are all excellent options, regardless of how you play. While there will undoubtedly be some learning curves as you gain accustomed to its brutal environment, the heady feeling that Dragon’s Dogma II provides is well worth the effort.
-
Apr 17, 2024When all’s said and done, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an outstanding refinement and expansion of every good thing the original — now an undisputed cult classic — brought us, and this sequel is more than welcome, especially since its formula still manages to stand alone when it comes to RPGs.
-
Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 is the sequel that all of us who enjoyed the first game could have hoped for.
-
Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma II embodies the essence of what the original should have been. With its expansive open world teeming with dangerous but delightful encounters, enjoyable combat, and versatile vocations, it's an enchanting experience from beginning to end.
-
Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 is an enigma of a game. Every aspect of it, every system, and every quest is a jigsaw puzzle to solve — that experience will not be for everyone. But it was for me. Playing through Dragon's Dogma 2 without a guide was a truly fantastic experience, with a near constant drip-feed of "eureka!" moments, alongside spectacularly rewarding combat highs. Dragon's Dogma 2 celebrates the patient, and committed. For those looking for a relaxing and straight forward experience, perhaps look elsewhere. And it's certainly true that Dragon's Dogma 2 has flaws — particularly with performance on console. However, for those who want cavernous depth at every turn, Dragon's Dogma 2 may be your game of the year.

Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 is a very special RPG. The title has made an effort to try to create a world that wants to be explored, and is not a mere excuse to advance to the next city. The journey and not the destination is the most important thing in an adventure that presents a really deep and tremendously fun gameplay system. It is true that it is not perfect, especially at a technical level, but it is good enough to be considered one of the greats of the year.
-
Apr 7, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 offers an experience with both dated and innovative elements. Some controversial choices, such as those on saves and fast travel, clash with modern standards, but in terms of gameplay and artificial intelligence it is one of the best titles of recent years. The story, on the other hand, remains rather anonymous and unmemorable, but if you are looking for a challenging game that will surprise you between exploration and creativity, then you need look no further.
-
Mar 25, 2024With great fights and an extremely refined pawn system, Dragon's Dogma is a great game, but it would be even better if it had a more varied world in terms of exploration and setting, less draggy progression and better-written plot and characters. The game maintains much of the basis of its predecessor and improves on it in almost every aspect, but it doesn't quite reach the level of the best action RPGs released over the last 10 years, such as Elden Ring, The Witcher 3, Bloodborne and Dragon Age Inquisition.
-
Mar 20, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 is a fine follow up to the cult classic original. With some ingenious gameplay and a captivating open-world, it's a stunning fantasy exploration simulator. If some of the main story missions had better structure, and the game didn’t feel so disjointed at times, this could easily be in the conversation to be crowned one of the best action-RPGs of this generation. It's still bloody good, despite that.

Mar 20, 2024Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a kitchen sink sequel to the original sleeper hit from 2012, building on what worked about the first game to create an RPG experience that’s still unlike any other.
-
Mar 20, 2024Dragon’s Dogma 2 improves upon the original in exceptional ways and is a must-play RPG for fans of the genre.

May 20, 2024Overall, this game is very much like the first game. The main thing Dragon’s Dogma 2 has going for it are its visuals. It has slight improvements here and there and some additions, but overall, the gameplay is nearly exactly the same as the first game. This isn’t bad at all though, considering the first game was so good. If you like the first game, you’re going to love this game, but if you don’t care for the first game, this one will not change your mind. Capcom played it safe with this game, which is really fine with me – it’s better to not change what isn’t broken. I do have some of the same complaints with this game that I did with the first game, but they are overall still minor (see the minuses below). If Capcom would give this game a 60 fps option, that would please me the most.

Apr 12, 2024Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a fantastic experience that comes with a lot of baggage. I suspect it will get those things ironed out over time, but if you can get past all these issues, this is an experience unlike any other. The world feels more alive than 99% of all other games. The sense of discovery is amazing, and there truly is nothing else like this out there. I highly recommend checking it out, or at least dipping your toes in with the extremely cheap original game. Capcom has done an amazing job of creating another unique experience that everyone should see at least once.

Mar 25, 2024If you're looking for a solid Action-RPG this game ticks most of the boxes. It's not going to be for everybody, as I said the way the quests are so open-ended can be a major turn off for some gamers. But, it does feel extremely satisfying when you discover a unique way to achieve something. The combat is the real selling point. I've honestly spent more time fighting monsters than I have progressing through the story and I'm still only experiencing a small part of the total combat experience. If a game with a few quirks but a solid base sounds good to you, then this one is definitely worth a try.

Mar 20, 2024Dragon’s Dogma 2 is a title with a unique and interesting proposition, but which is not intended for everyone. By putting player autonomy at the heart of the experience, Capcom's game offers a feeling of freedom and a pleasure of exploration enhanced by brilliant gameplay and a pawn system that is still fascinating. But this immersion at all costs gives rise to uncomfortable, but voluntary, design choices in order to make this adventure credible. However, the experience still suffers from certain real flaws, such as its overly classic and not always clear quests, its sometimes messy combat and especially its numerous slowdowns on console. In short, Dragon's Dogma will delight those who play the game with its unique and uncompromising proposition, surely leaving aside those too accustomed to the comfort of modern games.
-
Mar 20, 2024A wonderful game with some of the best and craziest fights in the industry.
-
Mar 21, 2024Dragon's Dogma 2 is an RPG tailored for fans of the first game. They will get everything that delighted them 12 years ago, but in greater quantity and with a more careful execution. However, Capcom got lost somewhere in the process and forgot that there are also a lot of people who expected more than just a better first game. It is undoubtedly a bold title that tries to combine features of an RPG, hack'n'slash and a "road game" in an original way, but it didn't master any of these elements.
-
Mar 20, 2024Certain mechanics haven’t evolved from the first game and the graphics are sometimes disappointing. Still, the side quest structure and combat hold up after all this time. Dragon’s Dogma 2 simultaneously keeps the strongest aspects of its predecessor while failing to remedy the shortcomings.

Mar 20, 2024Dragon’s Dogma 2 offers an excellent RPG experience and a great adventure. Exploration is just as rewarding as in other games such as Elden Ring or Zelda Breath of the Wild. The gameplay and its versatility are like two peas in a pod, thus setting Dragon’s Dogma 2 apart from current standards. This second opus builds on solid foundations that it has managed to improve, while offering a range of welcome new features. However, the main storyline and the side quests are no more than backdrops, serving to establish a guiding thread and give meaning to this universe. Players familiar with the licence will be able to understand and reach the game’s ending, while it will be more complicated for those uninitiated who may be left wanting more.
