I'm around 6 hours in. Got all 3 weapons and 2 abilities so far and I love it. Update: The story got better and the ending gave me chills!

This could have been so much better but instead falls flat on poor characters and bad writing. The graphics are decent as are the sound effects but the mission structures and voice overs are well below par. The gameplay is fairly average but the worst part of the game are the annoying bugs with one or two game breaking progress losing ones.

I can say that it is the best space-themed game I have played recently. Normally, playing such a game is boring when everyone can not do it, but Chorus does not squeeze and absorbs at all.

Intense and exhilarating combat in this space video game that reminds me so much of the old and beloved Descent, in terms of feeling and atmosphere. The idea of the story is very well congenital between spiritualism and technology, finally a breath of conceptual novelty in the field of videogame storytelling. Beautiful, beautiful and fun. Amazing graphics, 60 FPS on Series X, cool space combat. Only issue is that mission markers are a bit confusing and you will wander aimlessly before triggering the next event. There is a definite learning curve to triggering missions and the tutorial should have explained how you have to hit the “A” button when in the area of a mission marker to see where to go next. This is a really fun game with a very cool protagonist named Nara and her sentient ship Forsaken. Despite not being a AAA game it has stunning visuals and very smooth controls. My only complaints are: outside of Nara and Forsaken the voice acting is a little weak; this game could use a compendium to keep track of all the people you meet and who they are to you; missions with a time limits suck.

I would love to see what is next for Nara and Forsaken - thank you developers for this gem! I am very likely going to buy it for my PS5 as well to support it when I am ready for another play through.

I felt compelled to give a shout out to what seems like the underdog game of the season. I've always been a fan of the space flight shooter style game since the Wing Commander days, so I'm naturally going to be all in for a new entry into a under represented genre. I'm fully impressed with Chorus so far after 10 hours or so. Graphics are spectacular, controls are tight and fun. I'm fully impressed with Chorus so far after 10 hours or so. Graphics are spectacular, controls are tight and fun. The drifting/jumping mechanic is a fresh new addition that makes combat insanely fast and agile. Tearing through the inside of a capital ship or base is intense and thrilling. Take all that with an interesting plot and unique mythology which leans into fantasy elements also sets Chorus apart from other games in the genre. I have some mild 'wants' from the game - I wish the controls allowed for direct 'roll' control instead of the dodge. You can click the stick to reorient, but I'd love to be able to control my orientation on my own. Cockpit view would also be very cool, but probably deadly dizzying. Some misfires with combat dialogue - you're ship's AI says pretty dumb and repetitive things during battle. HUD can get kind of cluttered and difficult to read at many times - especially when it uses the same white triangle icon for too many different things. Lastly, some of the sub quests seemed glitched and required hard resets to work. The time-lock puzzles are also not as fun as the developers probably thought. They can get pretty frustrating. Here's hoping that they're not too common. Expand

Despite a few flaws, in particular with regard to the structure of the scenario, the excessive presence of dialogues, an insignificant soundtrack and framerate drops, Chorus is the nice surprise of the end of 2021.

Chorus is a fantastic space shooter that is woven together by a story that is great on paper but lacks proper execution. Its overall plot is very interesting, but the dialog and cutscenes didn’t do much to pull me in. That being said, Chorus is the most fun I’ve had in a very long time with a space shooter. With a packed holiday season, I found myself doing the impossible; I delayed playing more Halo Infinite and I died on purpose in Chorus to replay some sequences because they were that much fun. The abilities, the weapons, and the lightning-fast combat make it a joy to play. There is a lot to explore in the world, and I am hoping that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Nara and Forsaken.

Chorus is one of the best space shooter today. A fun, attractive game that amazes you just by seeing and entering its world, but which falls short due to its repetitive missions and lack of additional elements.
