The combat is the highlight, frantic and cinematic, but Chorus' open-world narrative ambitions let it down.

The graphics are decent as are the sound effects but the mission structures and voice overs are well below par. The gameplay is fairly average but the worst part of the game are the annoying bugs with one or two game breaking progress losing ones. Full Review »

I've always been a fan of the space flight shooter style game since the Wing Commander days, so I'm naturally going to be all in for a new entry into a under represented genre. I'm fully impressed with Chorus so far after 10 hours or so. Graphics are spectacular, controls are tight and fun. The drifting/jumping mechanic is a fresh new addition that makes combat insanely fast and agile. Tearing through the inside of a capital ship or base is intense and thrilling. Take all that with an interesting plot and unique mythology which leans into fantasy elements also sets Chorus apart from other games in the genre. I have some mild 'wants' from the game - I wish the controls allowed for direct 'roll' control instead of the dodge. You can click the stick to reorient, but I'd love to be able to control my orientation on my own. Cockpit view would also be very cool, but probably deadly dizzying. Some misfires with combat dialogue - you're ship's AI says pretty dumb and repetitive things during battle. HUD can get kind of cluttered and difficult to read at many times - especially when it uses the same white triangle icon for too many different things. Lastly, some of the sub quests seemed glitched and required hard resets to work. The time-lock puzzles are also not as fun as the developers probably thought. They can get pretty frustrating. Here's hoping that they're not too common. Full Review »

Got all 3 weapons and 2 abilities so far and I love it. Story is a little less dark than I hoped but there are some memorable moments, for example resistance is promoting mass suicide to avoid cult control. Also I'm getting vibes of cosmic horror frequently. Optional quests may lead to Optional boss, or provide interesting new mechanics like racing. Visuals are also stunnig. I hope the story will get better but the gameplay and atmosphere are amaizing. Sound design is also amaizing.

Update: The story got better and the ending gave me chills!
