It's hilarious to look at some cod fanboys right now, they don't know how to react even. They are like "is it even okay to like cod even if it's good?". They clearly know that it's good, but i guess it takes time. I'm having fun with the game rn. Anyone who wants to miss out, good for you.

Surprisingly fun cod, gonna play this for months to come. Why the hate? They finally do something right and people still complain, pathetic.

This is most hilarious CoD launch of all time lmao. There's CoD hating Youtubers getting nervous breakdowns because people apparently like Vanguard and are having fun. This is just amazing.

Just ignore the haters, these guy have zero idea what they are talking about. Half of them are hating just to hate. I can literally feel BF fanboys salt right now, because they know that BF2042 is buggy and lacks content and they just can't stand the fact that Vanguard turned out to be that good.

Really solid CoD, possibly my third favorite after Modern Warfare (2007) and Modern Warfare 2 (2009). Good 4-6 hour story (depends if you take your time or just rush), fun multiplayer that has some spawning issues that need to be fixed.

Best cod in a while. I really liked the new MW but after that I think they went downhill. A great WW2 game and multiplayer is fast and fun

I bought this to level guns for warzone but ended up really enjoying it. Campaign is stunning and like being in a movie. Mp is the the best any cod has launched for year's. Thoroughly recommend

Call of Duty: Vanguard is a breath of fresh air. The first Call of Duty title with great multiplayer in many years. The game definitely needs some polishing, but I'm mostly very impressed and quite frankly surprised with how fun Vanguard really is. The campaign on the other hand, not so good. Solid entry.

Campaign - I had a great time with the campaign, especially the sections with Polina Petrova. Laura Bailey delivers yet another fantastic performance and makes for another memorable character in the Call of Duty franchise. Laura Bailey delivers yet another fantastic performance and makes for another memorable character in the Call of Duty franchise. The story is compelling, but wasn't interesting enough to keep my attention throughout the entirety of it.

Multiplayer - This is the strongest multiplayer mode we've seen in Call of Duty out of the last few years. It's such an improvement over Cold War's multiplayer that I can't ever go back to it. Time to kill is quicker this time around and I'm all for it. Maps aren't designed around camping which forces everyone to get out there and fight, although camping is still possible, it isn't super effective this time around. There's a nice variety of multiplayer maps in this year's entry and I can't say I dislike any of them. The gunplay is extremely similar to MW 2019's as this game does use the same engine and retains the smooth and satisfying feeling the player gets with any of the weapons. All weapons are an absolute joy to use and I personally don't find any to be insanely overpowered in comparison to another.

Zombies - This year's Zombies mode is a disappointment in terms of overall content that released for it. It has been panned by a lot of player within the community for lack of the standard round based Zombies matches we're all so used to. Der Anfang borrows elements for last year's Zombies entry and slightly expands upon it. Perks are back and what's great about it is that the first upgrade for each perk is free. They can be upgraded four tiers total and each upgrade will cost an extra 2,500 essence. What's pretty strange is how much longer is takes to earn points. Killing zombies only gives you 20 points per kill, and 30 points per critical kill (headshot). You're meant to get the majority of your points through doing objectives. The different objectives are Blitz, Harvest, and Transmit. In Blitz the player is required to stay alive until the timer runs out as zombies rapidly spawn. In Harvest the player must collect five runestones from zombies and deposit them into a Sin Eater obelisk. You will do this three times before returning to the main area. Transmit requires the player to escort a floating head across a particular area while zombies attack and will receive points once the escort is completed successfully. Ultimately, Zombies is the weakest game mode out of the three in Call of Duty: Vanguard, but it's still a really enjoyable experience. I want round based Zombies to return too, but for now I'm fine with what we have.

Verdict: Call of Duty: Vanguard is a solid entry in the franchise and is a big improvement on a downgrade of 2019's Modern Warfare. Yes, it's super similar to MW 2019 as the two use the same game engine, however, I think Vanguard perfects the formula. I highly recommend this game to fans of first person shooters all around. I do see a lot of hate for this game going out by those who haven't even played it, referring to it as "just another game ruined by SBMM" and my advice is to ignore that and try it for yourself.

The game is not nearly as bad as most people say it is. It's review bombed for no reason, mostly people that disliked CW and are continuing that hatred onto this game. It's review bombed for no reason, mostly people that disliked CW and are continuing that hatred onto this game. It is, for a few parts, very good; I found weapon customising very interesting as there's a lot to unlock, but hardly any of that is worth grinding out 70 levels for. The maps are interesting, and the graphics are strong. The issues are that, in classic COD fashion, one weapon class is so much stronger than the others that there is no reason to use those other weapons. The killstreaks are a little strong, not for damage per se but for how much they make the screen shake. I'll try to snipe and have my scope thrusted around every 4 seconds on shipment. As for campaign, I just don't care to try it, so this review is specifically for multiplayer. Zombies is technically an MP mode so I am including it. Long story short, (coming from a huge zombies fan) it is vile. This mode is horrid for every reason imaginable. So little content that I realized after completing all three objectives that I had done everything it had to offer, and exfilled on round 8 or something like that. I have one game played, and until (if is a better word) a round based arrives, it will stay one game. To conclude, Vangaurd is a solid game; the MP is fun and interesting, but just copies the MW formula and doesn't add anything. This is a huge issue but it's saved by the fact that almost everything about MW is a great game. All in all, the game is solid, but doesn;t try to change anything about the franchise. It is the first game where the argument "its the same game" actually works. So, 6/10, while being a bit generous, is the final verdict from me. Expand

To me the general over arching storyline that is in it was done with past Call of Duty games in mind with including Nova 6 and Steiner but it also did a good job at showing a new side of WW2 that we didn’t get to see since 2004 in Call of Duty 2 with the African campaign as well as adding Pacific battles which brings us back to Call of Duty World at War which was an amazing WW2 title. In my opinion Vanguard is way better in every category then Call of Duty WW2 to me this was a breath of fresh air in the WW2 genre because it was done so well. Now yes there are some bugs I found while playing but they didn’t stand out or make me stop and question if buying this was the right choice. It is worth the purchase amount it is a good game and I can’t wait to see where this series go from here. Expand

Good number of levels and an enjoyable storyline, good characters, exciting missions and overall decent movement system, pretty good for those who enjoy a single player experience.

    Multiplayer:

TTK isn't too bad could be slightly longer, but isn't a big deal breaker, fun modes available to play, not a single map I dislike, they're all decent some more than others but haven't found one I don't like. Grinded the Atomic Camo and it felt worth it imho, some spawns are flawed but not terrible, really enjoyed it and i pop back sometimes to play.

    Zombies:

Often like playing Zombies modes in COD games, have enjoyed the games I have played in Vanguard's Zombies, not the best Zombies but not one of the worst either.

This is the worst COD that I ever played in my life. The campaign sucks ! there is only 2 real missions, the rest is only a throwback in the past. The missions are not even fun. I tried my best to enjoy the multiplayer too but it sucks too. Every thing is bad about this COD.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was a major disappointment and letdown for something that could have been so much more. I was hopeful that after the mediocre attempt of creating a boots-on-the-ground WWII shooter with CoD: WWII that Sledgehammer would be able to learn from their previous mistakes and release a truly amazing WWII shooter.

The promotional material for the game before its release only increased my hopefulness. Seeing how the campaign would apparently take place over multiple fronts. But unfortunately, for reasons explained below, these hopes were lost once the game was released and I started playing it.

First, campaign. It felt extremely disappointing, disconnected, unfinished, not interesting, and unmemorable. It felt more like a small expansion to the CoD: WWII campaign than its own separate and full campaign. None of the characters were particularly interesting and neither was the story. This meant I never really cared for any of the characters or their attempt to give their backstories. Nor was I particularly interested in the story.

Multiplayer wasn't exactly better. When I had originally played multiplayer with bots. There were many issues with its pathfinding on certain maps (getting stuck at certain sections.) Additionally, I was getting latency issues even though it was a private match with no other players.

Finally, Zombies. It was, like the rest of the game, a huge letdown. The idea of giving the zombies idea a new spin was interesting though it was executed terribly. Leading to many classic features that players have come to know and love being completely absent from the game. It was interesting and fun to play a few times but honestly, I prefer the more traditional style of zombies in previous installments.

Overall I would never recommend picking up Vanguard if you're looking for a good WWII shooter. If you really want a newer WWII shooter I would recommend picking up CoD: WWII instead with its much better story, multiplayer, and zombie game mode that is closer to the traditional style of zombies. I would also recommend getting CoD: World At War with its amazing story that introduces us to some memorable characters, an amazing multiplayer, and a classic zombies game mode (the first CoD to feature such game mode)

    Positives
    - Polished
    - graphically sunning
    - good performances in the campaign
    - runs at a smooth 60.
    - generally fun

    Negatives
    - The multiplayer experience just is not on the level of a black ops or MW.
    - The campaign while fun has a boring story that feels aimed at casual gamers who like lots of cursing, bad humor, and explosions.
    - the progression is mid.
    - the hero shooter elements suck.
    - zombies is legit terrible but I am glad the option is there.

In a gaming industry where releasing broken, unfinished games with little content and few modes this breaks the mold, it just does nothing to stand out.

Vanguard not only brings a whole lot more launch content and improvements than previous Call of Duty titles, by dint of a superior multiplayer experience, a solid and spectacular campaign and a more accessible but just as fun zombie mode.

The biggest problem is CoD: Vanguard feels like the least innovative Call of Duty in years. I think a lot of that has to do with Warzone, and the fact that developers HAVE to ensure that their game can be compatible with that battle royale. The fact that so much has to go into making sure it all works together; I just feel like it has to be hampering the developer’s creativity. In my opinion Call of Duty as a whole need to take a year off and regroup, come back with something as memorable as the original Modern Warfare was when it launched. If it’s a matter of money (and I doubt that it is) developers could lean into Warzone, they already are making a killing on all the microtransactions but just update Warzone like Epic does for Fortnite. Then after a year surprise people with something fantastic… I know this will never happen, but a man can dream.
