    Modern Warfare 2 is the best Call of Duty to date. The new installment of Infinity Ward comes with a realism never seen before, new gameplay for the story mode and new mechanics.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is a phenomenal FPS that ticks every box. With incredible aesthetics and slick gunplay it is a fantastic experience. Furthermore, the online mode is well balanced and the new levelling system is organic. Fans may gripe and groan about the changes, but I adored the methodical action and problem free gaming.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II impresses, albeit without revolutionizing, with a Campaign that smacks of the saga's "best of," a Spec Ops mode that is fun but dares little, and most importantly, a multiplayer side that is damned entertaining even if it rehashes some of the series' unfortunate design choices of recent years. All this is accompanied by an increasingly stunning technical compartment. Call of Duty is alive and well, and this is definitely the best chapter in several years.

    As it did with its reimagining of Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward has used the past as a point-of-reference rather than a blueprint, and the result is thrilling. The MW2 campaign is reliably unrevolutionary, and the multiplayer is bold enough to press against expectations – even if it isn't successful in everything that it tries. Call of Duty is slowly wading outside of its comfort zone, and it's all the better because of it.

    Single player: full of bugs. Had to replay 2 missions all over again because the scripting broke near the end and I was unable to progress. AtSingle player: full of bugs. At another point I died and when I was loaded into the level again, I was trapped in a hallway with unopenable doors at both ends. Other times I would load in and my fire button wouldn't work.

    Multiplayer: also full of bugs! When I play, I keep everyone muted but my own party. But the game likes to randomly mute my party and unmute everyone else. Custom loadouts randomly change between matches. Sometimes prices will show up above the weapons when making a loadout, which doesn't make sense at all because there are no modes currently in the game where weapons have a price. Challenge tracking sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. In the pregame lobby, everyone appears as the same character and level 1, instead of the actual skin and level. Random crashes.

    Bugs aside, it's been a pretty mediocre launch. No hardcore. No gun game. No gunfight. There goes my 3 favorite things from Modern Warfare 1. Weapon progression is convoluted. SBMM swings you between super easy matches and ones where you get stomped. Can't turn off crossplay. The border crossing map is TERRIBLE    … Expand

    Infinity Ward have created another borefest.

    Even the Invasion & Ground War modes are full of players camping with the sniper rifle.
    Gunplay as usual for COD is good. The new weapon upgrade/attachment process is beyond baffling & not user friendly.
    The biggest issue with the game for Xbox users is the ommision of the crossplay option, which was in the beta. Do IW not realise that there are no console players who want crossplay with PC. We have paid the same amount for the game as Playstation gamers, yet they have the crossplay option. I have been advised that the crossplay option is an exclusive for Playstation. Exclusive!!! Crossplay is a basic game option!! What next? No aim assist or crosshair for Xbox players?
    The game is full of PC cheaters using wallhack & aimbot.
    My advice for Xbox players is not to bother with this game unless the crossplay option is added & better maps are updated.    … Expand
