    This game was pretty good, I enjoyed everything from this game, I loved playing through campaign, I enjoyed multiplayer, and I loved zombies, definitely the most underrated zombies title we've ever had to date

    i feel the same way about this game as some older COD fans feel about Black Ops 2. in my opinion it was great. there were always frustrating moments, and multiplayer lag is almost unbearable at times, but overall i had a enjoyable experience. literally the first COD game i have ever pre-ordered. and i still believe it's better than Vanguard and MWII.

    Multiplayer: To explain all the bugs in the game, you should have played it. It would take hours, to write it all down. Additionally you waste about 25-30% of your time in waiting for lobbies. Thank god, I missed MW. The good old times are gone.

In Zombie mode I have not reached a higher level than seven before the game crashed or lost server connection. I play since 2007 but this is the worst version ever. Playing should be fun... This is not funny at all. But as long as "Bug-i-vision" makes money wit COD points selling nothing will change, I think. Maybe this is the reason, why there are no patches or server changings for a longer time now. MONEY ROLLS!

    Imagine Modern Warfare with a slightly longer TTK, no opening doors, no mounting, and less auto-aim. That's basically Cold War multiplayer. It's not bad, but I was bored INSTANTLY because it felt so familiar. I know COD games never change much but Cold War literally feels like DLC. I didn't get that initial fun feeling of playing a new game which I usually do, even with bad CoD games.     Mi no io se lo compro hace no mas de 1 mes y ha dejado los estudios vive por y para el juego no para hacer misiones para conseguir skins ,cada vez más violento insulta a un monitor por que matan a su muñequito y es un caso perdido un nini en toda regla ,ya no duerme bien se acuesta hasta muy tarde y se pasa todo el día durmiendo y jugando necesito ayuda

    Firstly, 136GB on both the new Xbox Series Consoles and 133 on PS5 is quite large for a single game, which is just over 25% of a 500GB hard drive, graphics wise is quite underwhelming at least compared to modern warfare, and only a handful of weapons are viable, hopefully some tweaks can be made to balance the guns and make it more playable

    Ce Black Ops Cold War est le meilleur COD sorti depuis Modern Warfare 2019.
    La campagne est excellente le zombies est de de très bonne facture et le multijoueur a un matchmaking bien équilibré. Le choix des scorestreaks pour le multi est excellent car il favorise ceux qui jouent les objectifs.

    Campaign is fun, the zombies are the best thing since BO3 and has no bad maps. The multiplayer is a hit or miss, you can have a lot of fun with a good team if the SBM isn't screwing you over.

    At launch, the game was really bad, with bad balancing, mediocre matchmaking, etc.
    But now one year later the game is solid. Especially when considering the newest CoD.
    The gameplay is satisfying, graphics and sounds are a lot better than in Vanguard. And overall you can have some fun.

    Imagine paying upwards of 69.99$ for a game to then find out that it has microtransactions! I might expect this from a free to play game but for a 70 dollar one!? Yes I know you don't necessarily have to spend money on the game but unless you want to play this **** for 7 hours+ per day then you are kinda forced to. Greedy developers, same repetitive game...     I play Zombies the most and I like it a lot. Idk what other people's complaints are. The game works perfectly well and that should count for something too. Very smooth, very polished. Regular updates to keep things working. Not much else I could ask for. Some people in multiplayer be sweatin' they nuts off though and it's not fun to play with people who are that competitive with it. Like II play Zombies the most and I like it a lot.     Call of Duty is a dead game. Its all skill based hit detection and other stat manipulation to make it the worst fps game of all time. I been playing cod games online since cod 3 waaaay back when. I play daily with a 2.18 ration ranked in the 40,000 global ranks I know what I'm talking about. Sbmm and other tactics have ruined this franchise for me for life. I'll never buy another one.

    Black Ops Cold War is a very solid game that you should pick up, especially between the enthralling campaign, the ever-expanding zombies mode, and the competitive-yet-cooperative multiplayer. The campaign takes place after Black Ops and before II, where you are "Bell". You work with Russell Adler and other characters to take down Perseus, one of the mythical people from the Cold War. The multiplayer now has many weapons to choose from, and has great maps that are fun to play on, explore, and even find finer details. The zombies kicks off after the end of Tag Der Toten from Black Ops IIII, where certain Aether characters had died. The plot is in the 1980's, where the Dark Aether is spilling into reality, and you must combat the threat before it's too late. Maps ranging from "Die Machine" to "Outbreak", to even "Forsaken", the zombies will be continuing with a new chapter of life, not to even mention the returning perks, most notably PHD Flopper, renamed to PHD Slider.

    In conclusion, BOCW is a game for Xbox, PS4, PC, whatever you play on, that you should pick up regardless of what you hear. The game is great, and is better than some past Call of Duties in some regard. It is well worth the price, especially if you're a long time fan, or a brand new one.    … Expand

I found it to be far more enjoyable than MW(2019) better maps, gameplay, just overall a lot more fun. Solid installment to the franchise. I bought Vanguard and just immediately went back to Cold War.     As a frequent CoD critic, I found this entry in the Black Ops subseries highly intriguing. The campaign includes my favorite POTUS (Reagan), and on top of that, delivers a strong story. Spending hours on multiplayer, specifically outbreak in zombies, crafted many great evenings with friends, especially during COVID-19 in early 2021. I recommend.

    I love this game. Despite what everyone says, I love it. The zombies is good, especially Die Machine. The multiplayer is where I actually got decent at CoD. And the campaign is really good as well.

Perfect damage, perfect recoil, perfect ammo capacity... The campaign feels undeveloped, too easy, but sometimes too hard, such as hacking the floppy. The game had so much potential, and can still be fixed. If you play against bots (multiplayer), then try to join a normal game, it won't allow you in unless you go back to the main menu and onto the game.

    Cold War es un gran juego. Una campaña muy pasable, un modo Zombis super genial, de los mejores. Donde falla CW es en su apartado mas importante, multijugador. Bastante gente en esquina, debido al SBMM (Skill Base Match Making) que es demasiado agresivo.

    Multiplayer team deathmatch takes forever, and since it makes not really fun, its a pain to finish a match. Aim assist is too invasive. Movement and animations are not fluid. Respawn locations are not balanced/scattered enough. Cant read white text on white helmet background in multiplayer loadout. Singleplayer campaign was good, but multiplayer is bad compared to MW.

    Ce que j’ai apprécié:

    fin multiples en fonction de quelques choix dans le jeu et décisions de dialogues. Ca c’est une bonne surprise
    des missions qui sortent du call of standard (infiltration avec objectifs à atteindre par plusieurs moyens)
    le niveau du QG du KGB est plutôt beau, seul niveau à utiliser le ray tracing à fond d’ailleurs (et le niveau le plus marrant)
    spatialisation du son très bonne. Ca pète de tous les côtés, sympa.
    des missions annexes débloquables uniquement si on trouve des indices dans les missions principales et si on résout des énigmes intéressantes
    de vieux jeux d’arcade d’activision cachés dans le jeu

    ce que je n’ai pas aimé:

    ultra court, surtout si on se contente des missions principales (il doit y en avoir 4-5 à tout cassé)
    les persos principaux sont plutôt pas trop mal fait, par contre tous les PNJ et autres joueurs sont d’une autre époque.
    l’IA totalement loupé
    la mise en scène à la rue et sans âme
    Des niveaux allant du « joli » au franchement très médiocres
    vu et archi revu dans ces niveaux principaux. On n’est jamais surpris et on ne s’amuse pas vraiment.

    En faite le jeu apporte quelques nouveautés sympa avec ces choix multiples, ces énigmes à résoudre pour les missions annexes, mais c’est totalement sous exploité. C’est vraiment dommage parce que ça aurait donné de la consistance au jeu. Tout le reste est vu, archi vu, pas intéressant du tout et techniquement très moyen.

    Après, ça reste un jeu qui se savoure très certainement en multi donc le solo n’est qu’une excuse, mais bon…    … Expand

It's better than MW2019, but only barely, both are still really low on the COD totem pole.

    Zombies was admittedly a ton of fun for me, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The new mechanics felt great for bringing on new players, old perk system returned with a few tweaks that finally found an effective way to deal with crutch perk issues, and the Die Maschine and Firebase Z maps were a ton of fun! Shame that Treyarch has decided to ruin it by focusing on Outbreak rather than Dark Aether's main storyline and maps, the characters have no personality since they're all MP Operators, and Treyarch seems focused on playing to our nostalgia for previous games rather than creating something new (can we get some more new perks like Elemental Pop, please? Instead of old perks reworked or combined?). While it's not entirely without merit, Cold War is a perfect encapsulation of how the Call of Duty series has fallen from its once lofty heights.     After the success of the Modern Warfare reboot, Treyarch took COD back on the roue of mediocrity. The campaign is interesting, but the multiplayer and zombies are very lackluster here. At least Warzone is still a thing.

    Awesome single player experience! I never play COD online multiplayer or zombie variants, what I love is to experience a good COD campaign and this one is amazing. Not perfect thats why Im giving it a 9 :) I hated that forces you to install warzone the same way that the last MW does.

    This games graphics suck, the lobby's are ALWAYS broken, it's neat impossible to play with 3+ people, all the maps suck (the only good maps they have are from past cod games, which by the way they just made them loom worse) their game modes suck (when they finally make a good one they just take it away) they have no gun fight maps, and this makes me never want to buy another cod again.

    The campaign, albeit great and possibly one of the best CoD stories to date since BO2, falls short in a few areas. The difficulty of the campaign overall is a little too easy. I completed the campaign on realistic on my first run, compared to 2019's Modern Warfare, which took me about 2 playthroughs of veteran and hardened to learn the levels. With BOCW, I just went straight into realism and didn't need as much trial and error, sometimes only dying once on a level. The level design is great, but the enemy AI is lackluster in working with these areas, making it easier for me to get past the level.
    Overall the story was too short, lasting only 9 missions, with two optional side missions. This, sadly, brought down the experience. Overall, 8/10 Campaign

    Multiplayer
    With better maps out on release compared to MW2019, the only thing holding the multiplayer back was a lack of character. The gunplay felt like a near carbon copy, save for mounting which luckily did not make a return. I was surprised to see the guns weren't as customizable as MW2019, with rarely any unique attachments for specific guns. The map flow was great, with it coming back to a 3 lane design, and good flank routes for each map, making overtaking an area during a match doable. Overall 8/10 MP experience

    Zombies
    This year's zombie experience hit it out of the park in my opinion. With the new crafting system and killstreaks, I was doubtful at first, but going into zombies, it quickly became one of my favorite modes. Although with only one map at launch, it gave good replayability in testing out the weapons and best areas for training. The Easter egg was amazing, albeit a little easier compared to other years' zombies Easter eggs. The new way of upgrading your perks, weapons, and other equipment with aetherium crystals gained at level milestones, adds another way to make the zombie mode more replayable. The multiplayer is quite poor in my opinion. the absence of skill-based matchmaking makes it very unenjoyable due to the fact that one game you'll murder a team of much lower skilled players but then for the next ten games, you'll be the one getting murdered by much higher skilled players. The mechanics of it are average from what players have seen in past games but the biggest complaint I have with multiplayer is that it feels half finished. This is very evident and clear when you boot up last years Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The lack of maps definitely hurts my rating for this game. Multiplayer is among the most unbalanced in the series, with 2-3 guns being viable in most multiplayer maps. With the majority of maps being overly large, sprawling areas with large amounts of dead space (half of the map "Miami" is a beach which is almost entirely unused in gameplay), most people only play on the Nuketown 24/7 playlist. Campaign is good, being the first Black Ops campaign since 2012 to not be a convoluted spin off that barely has any attachment to the franchise. Zombies is excellent, although there are frequent glitches that cause anything from random disconnections, to not being able to que into a game, to having the game completely freeze and require task manager to close. Treyarch's content dripfeed has been severely underwhelming, with only one or two notable things added so far. The battle passes have both been full of filler, with most variants added being simple camouflages that wouldn't look out of place as a gray-tier item in Counter Strike. Overall, Treyarch shows that they have lost their touch with making Call of Duty. Cold War shouldn't have even come out in the first place, considering the pandemic affecting development. Activision should have not released a new game in 2020 and instead, allowed Treyarch to improve their game, instead of delivering a not even half baked and extremely disappointing experience. Don't buy this game if you want to play for the multiplayer, just get Modern Warfare. You should only consider this game for the zombies mode and if it's on sale.… Expand

    First off, there are parts of the game that are absolutely incredible. (1) I don't EVER play campaigns because they bore the s*** out of me, but this one, I was glued to the screen and finished it in 2 sessions. It was incredible, the graphics were stunning, the story actually made my jaw drop at the end, and the Vietnam and KGB missions were a complete blast. I hated BO3/BO4 zombies because they got too ambitious. This zombies is very different, but it is in good ways. The changes make it feel like a revised BO2/BO1 zombies, and that's what everyone wants. The story and characters need work though, because at the moment, I am left missing the old school characters and the sarcastic voice lines. (3) Fireteam Dirty Bomb is the most fun new game mode I have played in several years. it's like a combination of Battlefield Conquest, Search and Destroy, and Battle Royale. It's utter chaos, and both maps are excellent. I find myself having fun even when I get last place. I hope more people start playing it because outside of needing some respawn balance, it's a complete blast.

    Now the bad (and the reasons this game is currently rated a 2.9)

    Holy motherf***ing s*** this game has the absolute worst gun balance and lag I have ever experienced in ANY game. EVER. You can avoid most of the horrible gun balance by playing hardcore, but in core, Assault Rifles can range anywhere from 4 headshots to kill to 12 body shots to kill. Yes I typed that correctly: 12 HITS. SMG's are the most balanced guns overall in my opinion, but with a combination of lag and aim assist that is too strong (which I'll get to), they melt you before you can even ADS. Then to top it off, you have the Tactical Rifles (Burst weapons and DMR) that kill you in one 3 round burst. So you can probably guess that almost every person in the game is using them. I can't understand how a Franchise that has been doing the same thing for so many years can still royally f*** up on something as simple as gun balance. I know it will get fixed, but geeeeez. The guns in Dirty Bomb feel a bit more balanced, since you have Armor and it takes a few burst shots to kill at range, but yeah guns need major work.

    The aim assist. Ok now I am a PC player, and I understand that we PC players can get ridiculously sweaty, but I was an Xbox player just a few years ago. I have watched videos breaking down the aim assist and how it will continue to drag your aim in the direction of the player, even if you are pulling the stick the opposite direction. Aim Assist is entirely necessary for joysticks in a shooter, because you don't have nearly as much range of control/motion as you would with a mouse (hence why PC has no aim assist), but it is ridiculous in this game (and in MW). It is to the point that aim assist literally deletes most of the recoil for most guns and console players are getting headshots almost on accident, while PC players have to actually compensate for recoil. Sure it's nice for bad players, but when a console player is actually good, it is almost impossible to kill them unless you catch them by surprise, because aim assist takes care of a good 80% of their recoil. It's extremely frustrating. I have connected an Xbox controller to my PC and tried it out, and I was able to lead the lobby... mind you I haven't played COD on a controller since Black Ops 3. There is also a version of aim assist called "Focused" where if you are missing your target, it will literally pull your reticle to the target for you. It isn't aim assist anymore, it is soft aimbot.

    Last, the graphics in multiplayer are so bad. I don't understand why honestly... Dirty Bomb and the Campaign both look amazing, then you have maps like Cartel where the bushes look like they're made out of paper mache. If I had to guess, I would say that Treyarch spent most of their time on Fireteam, Campaign, and Zombies (all three of which are quite fantastic) and then they had to rush the multiplayer when they were told their game would be pushed up a whole year.

    Overall, for having an entire year chopped off of their development time, this game is really impressive. I actually like it better than Modern Warfare. I've heard a lot of people complain that it's clunky, and I must assume that these people have never played BO1. It really does feel like the OG Black Ops, and the new mode and Campaign are two of the best things I've played in quite some time. I recommend buying the game and playing only Hardcore Multiplayer and Fireteam: Dirty Bomb if you like to be competitive. I cannot however rate it above a 6 because the gun balance is completely embarrassing.

    If they fix the gun balance, improve multiplayer graphics, and lessen aim assist, I really would rate a 10.

    UPDATE: Season 1 laggy as f***, not even playable now.

    UPDATE 2: Tried it again on 3/24 and the lag is even worse now. The game is a lost cause, save your money.    … Expand

Also, without installing shaders, which lasts about 20 minutes, you will not be able to play from the word at all. And often it freezes, and you have to restart. I've played call of duty since it fist started off and I've finally reached the point where I won't put any more of my money in, this game should be a free to play game with an optional $20 to $30 pricetag for the campaign. I don't want to pay full price for a game only to be bombarded by pop-ups for cosmetics and a season pass, I'll go play fortnite or apex for that where I don't have to pay any extra money unless I want to. It's time for call of duty to drift away into the sunset, I only wish Activision would have let it drift peacefully instead of strangling it dry for every last drop of cash it had left.     The multiplayer is ruined by snipers with aim assist. Before you see them you are dead. Not to mention how bad the game feels and runs as a whole. DO NOT BUY.

De antemano se les avisa que no le hagan caso al "Review bombing", el juego es visualmente una delicia, están inmersivo que lo debes de jugar a 4k, debido a los realista que se llega a ver, la trama es excelente, con varias decisiones que modifica el resultado del guión, honestamente es uno de los mejores juegos de Call of Duty que se hayan jugado. La forma de juego okay Play es muy bueno, vale la pena la toma de decisiones tanto para convertirte en una buena persona o una mala persona, al final una de las decisiones clave, es tan impactante no solamente para el personaje principal, sino para la decisión del final. En cuanto a la música es fenomenal el oeste, debo reconocer Qué es uno de los grandes logros para arrancar una nueva generación de consolas.… Expand

    Needs more maps, but otherwise fun. I like it better than MW. Eliminations, healthbars are more fun for me.

    Rating it a 6 because of bugs that crash the game. Disabling Ray Tracing helps, but does not eliminate issues. Will rate higher if fixed. (Update: Bugs fixed, still enjoying the game.)

    Thanks god i have not buy this game. I was wait to get free weekend and try it. It is really one of the worst call of duty games. Multiplayer is so bad! Downgraded COD MW. DONT BUY IT U WILL WASTE UR MONEY!

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. (Please note: I have the XONE digital version of Cold War. I'm posting it on the Series X version because 1: more people will see it, and 2: they are practically the same version, save for graphical differences. It's also a big game (about 95 GB if I remember correctly), so you'll want to save some storage space if you don't have that much. Definitely worth it though.)

    I've played COD since the first Black Ops. Cold War's campaign, in my opinion, saves this game. While a bit short, it's detailed, and actually has cool and surprising (unless you've been spoiled) twists that I won't name here ('cause of spoilers, obviously). Zombies DEFINITELY takes getting used to. If you haven't tried it yet, don't expect it to be like the previous games. ((here's a little tip: no matter what starter gun you pick, it's probably gonna suck and start acting like an M1911 made out of orange juice and crack by round 2.)) Multiplayer definitely falls a bit flat, as it doesn't exactly bring anything *new* to the table, although it's still good and (in my opinion) smoother and better-looking than previous games. It's still fresh to me.

    If I had to give each mode a rating, this is what I'd do:
    Campaign: 9.5/10 (a bit short, good ending ((yes, there are several endings, congrats)) could've been just a teensy bit better, but it is AMAZING for what it offers)

    Multiplayer: 6/10 (adds nothing new, but is still fresh and fun and it WORKS. that's all that matters to me)

    Zombies: I got no friggin' idea, I haven't played it enough to make an educated decision on it - it's really up to you to decide whether you like it or not since it's so different from other entries in the Black Ops series. They recently added a new map, too, (which is free! thank god!) which is MUCH better than the first one. Much more open and a lotta action.

    Overall, the game could've used some more development time. SBMM isn't a problem for me (because I friggin' SUCK lol), although if you're more highly skilled, you will dislike it. As for technical issues, I didn't have any on my XONE. Maybe it's because I got it digitally? I dunno. Load times weren't even that long.

    -- Oh, and by the way, the graphics are fine. I haven't even mentioned them yet since they don't even play a role in whether or not the game will be fun, so don't pay attention to reviews mainly talking trash about the graphics. This game could have Nintendo 64 graphics and still be fun for me.

    8/10, mainly because of the multiplayer not being anything new. The multiplayer is still worth a try, though, especially if you're new to the series. If you're a serious sweaty "my life is COD" vet, though, campaign and zombies will be more worth it to you.    … Expand

    Overall, despite some performance issues, I rather enjoyed the mercenaries, spies and private eyes campaign that is Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. I’d like to see the development team get a chance to really flesh out a longer campaign in this style, but you know…the call of duty.

    With an entertaining campaign, great online opportunities and panic-stricken zombie slaughter, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is an impressive package. Still, we can not help but feel disappointed. The best parts of the campaign could have been developed much more and the online modes feel well stripped down. Cold War still impresses, but with more development time, it could have been so much more than "this year's Call of Duty game".
