    DRAFTING YOUR JOURNEY
    Upon reaching a closed door in Mt. Holly, you decide what room appears behind it and each decision shapes your path as you navigate through the manor. Every door can reveal new and exciting chambers that contain their own unique challenges and secrets. But be careful how you draft, for each day the manor’s floor plan resets and the rooms you saw today may not be the same rooms you see tomorrow.

    EVERY STEP COUNTS
    Your progress each day is shaped by the rooms you select to draft and the tools you find within them. Items in the game can be used in a number of creative ways to fuel your exploration deeper into the house, allowing you to adopt unique strategies to combat the challenges that each day brings. Yet, tread wisely – the house resets each dawn, erasing all but the permanent upgrades to your estate blueprint. That is, if you were clever enough to find one!

    A HISTORY IN THE MAKING
    As the heir of Mt. Holly, you have been tasked to explore its shifting halls in search of Room 46. Yet as your journey takes you further into the mansion’s depths, you start to discover that there is more lurking under the surface than a missing room. Investigate a past woven with the threads of blackmail, political intrigue, and the mysterious disappearance of a local children’s book author.     It is an impeccably made work of absolute genius, and the team at Dogubomb and Game Director Tonda Ros have worked magic here. As I said at the start of this review, I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever played. Without a doubt a shoe-in for indie darling of the year, I’d give it an 11 out of 10 if I could.

    The more one plays Blue Prince, the more enthralling it becomes. The thrill of finding an item that opens the door to new possibilities in previously-searched rooms is hard to match, and unraveling the game's mysteries is an experience that all gamers should seek out. Blue Prince is the new king of puzzle games and is quite simply can't-miss.

    You will curse Blue Prince many times in your early runs for its capriciousness – before permanently unlockable items and acquired acumen begin to ease your route to the finish line. Persist and you will appreciate the interlocking brilliance of Ros’s creation. Resist and you will be pointlessly pounding your head against the wall of a dead end.

    Blue Prince is a masterpiece. All the different elements, the story, the gameplay and the overarching puzzles work in tandem to create an incredible piece of art that can only exist as a videogame. It obviously might not be for everyone but if you can entertain the idea of jumping into an extremely well made puzzle game then it should be Blue Prince without any doubt.

    Maybe the roguelike elements will annoy, and sometimes luck plays a bigger part than any thoughtful decision making, but even if you do reach the end, Blue Prince will continue to reveal a host more secrets.

    Blue Prince is an excellent, intricate, and intriguing puzzle game that will have you thinking about solutions even when not playing it. While there's some minor foibles, coming across a puzzle and scrolling through your notes for an answer from previous runs is very satisfying. Blue Prince is one of the best puzzle game available.

    It's easy to see why Blue Prince took eight years to make. It's an intricate and layered puzzle game that rewards discovery, albeit at a pace that can make it quite frustrating. Still, if you stick with it, the journey, and the secrets you reveal along the way, make it all quite worthwhile.
