    Dice ruined this franchise. I am extremely disappointed that the way they treated us games like 2nd hand garbage then started to blame other games for their flop. It has fun moments though.

    One of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made. The worst game Dice has ever made. Horrible spawns, everyone runs around and bunny hops like gerbils, The net code is so bad it feels like you take 2 shots yet it takes half a mag to kill someone. You shoot your gun once and everyone knows your location. The teams are always so unbalanced that one team almost always steamrolls the other. TheOne of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made.     Battlefield 2042 is very much so underrated. The game is extremely fun. While it has it's issues, it has great maps and great gameplay.

    Después de Battlefield 1 y Battlefront 2, no entiendo como Dice ha podido lanzar esto: Roto, lleno de fallos visuales y poco inspirado. Sin modo campaña, con un multijugador con mapas ridiculamente grandes y mal diseñados. Una decepción en todos los aspectos.

    Played recently (season 4), outstanding game (audio, graphics and massive battles). Cross-play really helped to find game faster. 128 players on one map is badass! Thanks developers!

Also, we have an interesting Portal mode that can allow us to play on the maps of past parts with weapons from different eras of Battlefield.

    I think, as some players have said, that you should give this game another chance, especially since season 4 is coming out soon, and this is a good reason to get back into the game and try to play a couple of games.    … Expand

    I'm honestly surprised to hear about all the issues but can honestly say I have experienced none of them and have been playing since the start of early access. I definitely admit there's a lack of features and I really hope they iron out all the issues everyone is experiencing. I have had a lot of fun switching between Xbox one and series x version of the game on my series x.     Battlefield 2042 its were i've spended almost more than 1.000h and i enjoyed every single one. I understand that lunch game was terrible but now, its battlefield.

    Like BF5 this game has a lot of potential to be a great and fun game. The gun play is great and it's as chaotic as every pervious BF game. It's just a shame that the game is moving into a wrong direction, by removing core features that make a battlefield game a battlefield game, and trying to monetize the game instead of focussing on what players really want.     I downloaded the game because it's part of of xbox's game pass, would I have paid the full price, I would have been very disappointed. With BFV and BF2042 moving towards a different direction I think the franchise is losing a lot of BF fans, including me.     After several updates, this game is good now. You should give it a try! Graphics are nice, new weapons and characters give more options to player. After playing mw2 for weeks and getting back to battlefield, I can say that I enjoy bf 2042 than mw2.

    Played at launch and was blown away. Not by how good the game was, but by how insanely bad everything about the game was. Got a refund, and never thought about it again. It recently got added to Game Pass and it's undeniably much better than it was, but is still quite easily one of the worst Battlefield games ever. It's just not very enjoyable. There is fun to be had here, for sure, inPlayed at launch and was blown away. Not by how good the game was, but by how insanely bad everything about the game was.     I'd call it a comeback!

    My late 2022 review of this game is basically that this game came back in a big way. They have supported the heck out of this game (pulling the Titanfall/Apex team over to work on it and fix its faults). There are tons of new maps and mods, the battle passes are actually pretty good. The game works and plays really well now and they are getting rid of the hero    I'd call it a comeback!

    This game's comeback however, does not excuse how bad the launch was, it was in all honesty a broken game with no content at release. Publishers have to start forcing games out like this.     I do really like the new plus system, some of the new operator abilities like the grapple, and the graphics (sometimes) are incredible, but the little good there is, is surrounded in **** It is worth noting however, that they are improving it.     Honest to God, I will NEVER EVER pre order ANY game from DICE and any other studio under EA. Including the Dead Space Remastered version. They are not make video games any more. That are packaging it and use it for SCAM. We should file complaint / lawsuit to business agency for their DECEVING act. This is NOT American!!!

    The recent season 1 update was okay but it could be wayyyy better. It lacks on guns and they only added 1 map the game is getting better but it’s quite not there yet.

    The game is definitely in a better state than it was at launch and on next gen it currently plays great with very few bugs. This game I think definitely deserve at least a second chance.

Но больше всего разочаровал кроссплей с ПК и отсутствие поддержки клавиатуры и мыши как в COD например, от чего собственно постоянно выхватывал от игроков с ПК.     lacks any destruction, specialists are cringe and character movement feels badly designed . Specialist abilities can be fun, weather hazards are really cool and the actual gunplay feels satisfying. Theres a lack of much content if u really want to dive in and the maps at times feel too empty with little cover.

    This is honestly one of the worst games I have had the displeasure of playing. Good thing the trial is free.
    Most of the things either don’t work at all or are seriously glitched out.
    Getting stuck in the environment, fps issues. Flickering screens left and right. Packet bursts and lag galore. I thought Cod Vanguard was bad, but BF2042 takes the cake.
    Specialists? What is this this, overwatch?

    Wasted my money. I thought the beta was horrible bit I thought it was connection problems when it was fuiod it was fun. Wich is now worse. Battfield 5 felt better I presented the moment and one on 1 revive mechanic animation.

To hear EA saying they actually believed it was in a playable state come launch, when we all told them during the beta it was nigh unplayable is laughable. To this day the game is a broken mess. DICE's attempt to make a cash printer a la CoD and R6:S's Operators. The Specialists completely and utterly destroy everything that is battlefield. Teamwork is out the window thanks to their introduction, map control based on class/vehicle makeup is also completely out the window.

    Vanguard is bad. I thought that BF will shut cod mouth. but they did such a big mistake with publish this game. i had fun ok but it wasnt worth 70$. Performance is bad. Grahpic is fine but i feel that im playing in alpha version. they tried to make something else but they were lost in this. sad dice

    I've encountered a game breaking bug where I can't select my loadout before entering a match. This happens every other match and I have to restart the game to get it to work and sometimes that doesn't even work. This game is clearly unfinished and shouldn't be sold and I advise everyone who is thinking about buying this game to either wait or just forget this game even exists.     Broken and dull, was a die hard Battlefield fan before this game. Game matches not fun, too many people, maps are way too big. I payed full price and played it for 2 days, don't waste your money like I did.

And for me, personaly worse think, is they didnt told us any damn plans for future. 3 months of big fixing witch brings even more new bugs, or old glitches come back.     That's crazy, but after 10hr played I feel like an idiot and we're pissed of completely .. right now I've played 35hr ... switch to "rush 128" and I start to like this game ... and have some fun playing on series x.     1. IF you play cross platform on the earlier stages of the game on console = you suck! When you switch of cross platform it disconnect both PC and PlayStation ... and the game is almost empty! Keeping an option to play consolses vs consolses w/o PC's will be a great idea!

    2. Visualisation = even on series X the game looks like BF3 = agreed, but also I see bugs and framerate drop down ... how come?!

    3. I cannot choose the server ... when I enter the server and team is OK in 99% after the round game is looking for the new server and I cannot play with the same team even 2x rounds!

    4. Maps = battlewalk 2042 especially in conquest ... it's too long and emty walking distances! In rush the play is much more fun and you see the 128 teammates surround ... 5. Every fraction = same skins!!! How come?! You see no difference between RU and US! When you read something about game you can understand the story behind .. and it seems logical ... but why it was not described in the game? That this is not RU to US conflict and both fractions used 3rd party troops?    … Expand

More destructible environments BUT- the most destructible levels seen in previous titles are in portal. Needs a class system BUT- each operator belongs to a class. Love this game, needs work but it's so damn fun and doesn't get enough credit.My favourite battlefield since Bad company 2. It has bugs for sure.     A complete disaster, this game is not playable. You have to go through lots of bugs, glitches, errors. There is a huge lack of content, the soundtrack is awful and the portal mode is broken... I've played Battlefield 1,2,3,4,5 and Bad Company 2 and this is the worst of them.

Don’t even get me started on missing basic features such as a map, voice chat (for a cooperative multiplayer game at that!), a scoreboard, and countless other things. The weapons don't feel anywhere near as good as the previous games either. The time to kill in this game is also too long which is why I play in milsim servers on Battlefield Portal. I highly recommend going to the portal and searching for milsim servers. They are a lot of fun. I wouldn't recommend buying this game at full price because it simply isn't worth it, when its on sale you should pick it up though. There is some fun to be had.    … Expand

Even for a BF game, the maps are too open and filled with wasted space that you are expected to run across and hope that you don't get picked off along the way. The spawn points have a great tendency to put you in the line of sight of the opposing team so good luck even getting to the point where you sprint for your life. I have had little time to even try and learn the maps because you are constantly being overrun (by what I assume are mostly bots) so early stages of the game are a steady mix of dying and waiting for respawn. The UI is confusing poorly laid out at all levles and the fact that you have multiple operators but only 4 loadouts is baffling. It is clear that they deliberately did not include a scorecard for matches because they don't want you to actually see how poorly you are doing in each and every match. The fact that they give you 10,000 XP for playing your first match of the game is further proof that they are begging you to come back and play again the next day.    … Expand

It’s wild to me that they have Battlefield 4 as a the perfect blueprint on what mistakes to not make, and the things that worked, yet they take so many steps backwards… I am so disappointed, I really hope the next game in the series can bring it back to its former glory.

It’s like DICE were so focused on getting 128 player on a single map and taking on COD - that they didn’t bother considering much else? A real example of ‘caught in your own soundbox’ development here.

    Stop trying to rip-off other games’ ideas, and get back to what used to make BF the best shooters of all time. I’ve played every BF starting in 2002, and I’ve never once felt the need to write a poor review. But sadly and with no exaggeration: this could be the worst one so far. Good job I played a trial for 10 hours and didn’t waste my money beforehand, this is the ONLY BF game in franchise history that I have not purchased. I’m giving it a 1/10 for the inclusion of the legacy game modes - which is a nice touch - but unfortunately they are so unpopulated you can’t get a good match going.

    BF Vietnam, BF2, Bad Company 2 and BF4 were utterly superb - take another look at what made those outstanding - and get back to the basics!    … Expand

    This is basically a redone Battlefield 4 with a new engine, yet somehow poorly done if thats even possible..

The lack of basic things are surprising but with the announcement of Vince zampella from respawn(titanfall/ infinity ward OG) I remain a positive outlook on the future of the game. They also managed to include all maps and the fact that the browser for games hosted is fantastic. I love that we have variety available toI give a 7 as I remain hopeful that they fix the issues with this game. The specialist are lame their quips are cringe worthy and not having team uniforms takes away from reaction time, takes away from immersion and just makes the game look like a worse call of duty. The graphics are awful. Maps are bad little detail and no cover. Everything is to speed apart all you do is run around to die by a tank or helicopter. The helis are super op by the way with infinite flares. Nvehicles no longer need to repair themselves and they no longer run out of ammo. There's no leaderboard no scoreboard no clans nothing from previous games. Even after a third update the game still resets your classes. This game has completely lost its identity and has decided to adhere to the trends going on right now and on top of that it’s completely broken!

    Frame rate issues, weapon bloom is horrible, revive glitches, glitchy spawn menu, a host of in game glitches, on top of that they removed sooo many features from this game it’s ridiculous. I’m gonna stop there because if I keep going I’ll be here all day but needless to say this game crushed my hopes this year for a good battlefield game and honestly unless there is a return to form with the next installment I don’t see myself buying another battlefield game in the future.    … Expand

    This is the worst battlefield I have ever played. Ever. They took the worst things from apex legends and warzone and put it all into one game. It's like they took everything good about previous battlefield titles that are universally loved by the community and DIDNT include them in the game.

    This does NOT feel like a Battlefield game. I was excited for it, but it turns out they just wanted to push out a turd that feels like too much like COD to get those players instead of making it for BF fans. Sooo many missing features, only 7 maps at launch, and way too many bugs. Only consider this if there is a discount in like 4 months when they fix this.

    Destruction is still cool, and in the end I have to give the creators credit for the fact that the much marketing-washed akedo has its moments. Everything else that made a good Battlefield is completely missing, and that chase for record-breaking size or player count is really a poor substitute for well-designed maps, rich content in the form of game modes, and certainly no substitute for the original class system that the gameplay has always relied on in the first place.     Battlefield 2042 is a huge disappointment for gamers and the Battlefield franchise. Had this been the product of an indie developer, then this might be a different story as it would be understandable how a game like this could be the product of an independent studio that doesn’t have enormous corporate backing. Instead, EA pumped more resources into creating a CGI film that acts as the only real source of storyline context than ensuring the game was going to live up to the enormous amount of hype they were trying to create. I hate saying such negative things in my reviews, but when a game developer can’t be bothered to even try and live up to it’s own legacy, then I have to call it as I see it and for that very reason, I don’t recommend this game. Not even the nostalgia or temptation of ‘Battlefield Portal’ is enough to save this game from itself.

    Battlefield 2042 absolutely should have been pushed back by EA and DICE to some point in 2022. Instead, the version of this game that is currently available has been virtually unplayable for me at times since first releasing. Even beyond this, though, some of the key design changes that DICE has made in Battlefield 2042 don't feel for the better. Rather than improving on the core Battlefield experience that fans loved with Battlefield 3, 4, or Bad Company 2, 2042 is a bloated husk of its former self that is trying to recapture some semblance of its previous glory. As a fan that has been playing this series for well over a decade, Battlefield 2042 is a massive disappointment that I struggle to think is even worth saving.
