    Dice ruined this franchise. I am extremely disappointed that the way they treated us games like 2nd hand garbage then started to blame other games for their flop. It has fun moments though.

    One of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made. The worst game Dice has ever made. Horrible spawns, everyone runs around and bunny hops like gerbils, The net code is so bad it feels like you take 2 shots yet it takes half a mag to kill someone. You shoot your gun once and everyone knows your location. The teams are always so unbalanced that one team almost always steamrolls the other. TheOne of the worst multiplayer shooters ever made.     Después de Battlefield 1 y Battlefront 2, no entiendo como Dice ha podido lanzar esto: Roto, lleno de fallos visuales y poco inspirado. Sin modo campaña, con un multijugador con mapas ridiculamente grandes y mal diseñados. Una decepción en todos los aspectos.

    Like BF5 this game has a lot of potential to be a great and fun game. The gun play is great and it's as chaotic as every pervious BF game. It's just a shame that the game is moving into a wrong direction, by removing core features that make a battlefield game a battlefield game, and trying to monetize the game instead of focussing on what players really want.     I downloaded the game because it's part of of xbox's game pass, would I have paid the full price, I would have been very disappointed. With BFV and BF2042 moving towards a different direction I think the franchise is losing a lot of BF fans, including me. So I will keep playing BF4 for as long as the few servers are available.    … Expand

    Played at launch and was blown away. Not by how good the game was, but by how insanely bad everything about the game was. Got a refund, and never thought about it again. It recently got added to Game Pass and it's undeniably much better than it was, but is still quite easily one of the worst Battlefield games ever. It's just not very enjoyable. There is fun to be had here, for sure, inPlayed at launch and was blown away. Not by how good the game was, but by how insanely bad everything about the game was. Got a refund, and never thought about it again. It recently got added to Game Pass and it's undeniably much better than it was, but is still quite easily one of the worst Battlefield games ever.     It has the worst maps in all of Battlefield, hardly any weapons, the operators are cringey and out of place in a game with 120 players, and it's insanely glitchy. I    DICE should be so ashamed.     I do really like the new plus system, some of the new operator abilities like the grapple, and the graphics (sometimes) are incredible, but the little good there is, is surrounded in **** It is worth noting however, that they are improving it.     Honest to God, I will NEVER EVER pre order ANY game from DICE and any other studio under EA. Including the Dead Space Remastered version. They are not make video games any more. That are packaging it and use it for SCAM. We should file complaint / lawsuit to business agency for their DECEVING act. This is NOT American!!!

    This is honestly one of the worst games I have had the displeasure of playing. Good thing the trial is free.
    Most of the things either don’t work at all or are seriously glitched out.
    Getting stuck in the environment, fps issues. Flickering screens left and right. Packet bursts and lag galore. I thought Cod Vanguard was bad, but BF2042 takes the cake.
    Specialists? What is this this, overwatch?

    Wasted my money. I thought the beta was horrible bit I thought it was connection problems when it was fuiod it was fun. Wich is now worse. Battfield 5 felt better I presented the moment and one on 1 revive mechanic animation.

To hear EA saying they actually believed it was in a playable state come launch, when we all told them during the beta it was nigh unplayable is laughable. To this day the game is a broken mess. Teamwork is out the window thanks to their introduction, map control based on class/vehicle makeup is also completely out the window.

I cant check the leaderboard mid game to see if I'm doing well or not. You cant even find matches that fast, Battlefield 5 has more player than Battlefield 2042 due to how bad this game is, if you want a good shooter game than you have to waitThank god i had this game refunded.     I've encountered a game breaking bug where I can't select my loadout before entering a match. This happens every other match and I have to restart the game to get it to work and sometimes that doesn't even work. This game is clearly unfinished and shouldn't be sold and I advise everyone who is thinking about buying this game to either wait or just forget this game even exists.     Broken and dull, was a die hard Battlefield fan before this game. Game matches not fun, too many people, maps are way too big. I payed full price and played it for 2 days, don't waste your money like I did.

And for me, personaly worse think, is they didnt told us any damn plans for future. 3 months of big fixing witch brings even more new bugs, or old glitches come back. If they only had sticked with the basics like the community asked for, and stayed true to what made it unique. A bit more seriousness and realism, and not fortnite like gimmics.     My favourite battlefield since Bad company 2. It has bugs for sure. Could do with more weapons BUT- portal has weapons from multiple generations. More destructible environments BUT- the most destructible levels seen in previous titles are in portal. Needs a class system BUT- each operator belongs to a class. Love this game, needs work but it's so damn fun and doesn't get enough credit.My favourite battlefield since Bad company 2. It has bugs for sure. Could do with more weapons BUT- portal has weapons from multiple generations. More destructible environments BUT- the most destructible levels seen in previous titles are in portal. I thought we were finally returning to a BF3 / BF4 quality game. It was my fault for trusting Dice, they have shown time and again why you do not but there games for at least a year post launch.     A complete disaster, this game is not playable. You have to go through lots of bugs, glitches, errors. There is a huge lack of content, the soundtrack is awful and the portal mode is broken... I've played Battlefield 1,2,3,4,5 and Bad Company 2 and this is the worst of them.

    Technically as sound as a dumpster fire. Impossible to play a game without running into some kind of issues. Don’t even get me started on missing basic features such as a map, voice chat (for a cooperative multiplayer game at that!), a scoreboard, and countless other things. This cash grab has erased battlefield’s identity. Save your money.

The weapons don't feel anywhere near as good as the previous games either. The time to kill in this game is also too long which is why I play in milsim servers on Battlefield Portal.     Overall, this game is very bad and my least favourite in the franchise. However, there is some fun to be had just not in any of the modes that DICE made. I highly recommend going to the portal and searching for milsim servers. They are a lot of fun. I wouldn't recommend buying this game at full price because it simply isn't worth it, when its on sale you should pick it up though. There is some fun to be had.    … Expand

I have played every Battlefield since 1942, that is nearly 20 years worth of titles, and I have never been so frustrated with an FPS game in my life. Even for a BF game, the maps are too open and filled with wasted space that you are expected to run across and hope that you don't get picked off along the way. The spawn points have a great tendency to put you in the line of sight of the opposing team so good luck even getting to the point where you sprint for your life. I have had little time to even try and learn the maps because you are constantly being overrun (by what I assume are mostly bots) so early stages of the game are a steady mix of dying and waiting for respawn. The UI is confusing poorly laid out at all levles and the fact that you have multiple operators but only 4 loadouts is baffling. It is clear that they deliberately did not include a scorecard for matches because they don't want you to actually see how poorly you are doing in each and every match. The fact that they give you 10,000 XP for playing your first match of the game is further proof that they are begging you to come back and play again the next day.    … Expand

    This game it just, makes me sad…. On every level. It’s wild to me that they have Battlefield 4 as a the perfect blueprint on what mistakes to not make, and the things that worked, yet they take so many steps backwards… I am so disappointed, I really hope the next game in the series can bring it back to its former glory.

You’re either out in no man’s land with no one around doing nothing, or caught up in a COD style free-for-all Zerg cluster f*** with no ability to be tactical or influence the outcome. Other issues include: poor kill notification, ridiculous looking post-match ‘avatar clone line up’, a confusing and unclear round reward and gear unlock system - makes the game wholly unrewarding and left feeling like you’ve achieved nothing, regardless of how you performed. It’s like DICE were so focused on getting 128 player on a single map and taking on COD - that they didn’t bother considering much else? A real example of ‘caught in your own soundbox’ development here.

    Stop trying to rip-off other games’ ideas, and get back to what used to make BF the best shooters of all time. I’ve played every BF starting in 2002, and I’ve never once felt the need to write a poor review. But sadly and with no exaggeration: this could be the worst one so far. Good job I played a trial for 10 hours and didn’t waste my money beforehand, this is the ONLY BF game in franchise history that I have not purchased. I’m giving it a 1/10 for the inclusion of the legacy game modes - which is a nice touch - but unfortunately they are so unpopulated you can’t get a good match going.

    BF Vietnam, BF2, Bad Company 2 and BF4 were utterly superb - take another look at what made those outstanding - and get back to the basics!    … Expand

    The Xbox Series X version of this game looks and feels worse than a free to play game on the original Xbox One. I've been playing Battlefield games for over a decade and this is, by far, the worst launched BF game I've ever experienced.

    This is what a game looks like when it looses it's soul. Sad that this franchise has fallen so far from it's roots and what made the game unique. Now it's just like any other copypaste hero shooter but just worse.

    Hopefully some day there are wise and passionate people in the decision making department of this frachise who knows what fans of the series wants and how to deliver it

Some reason if you tap fire your gun on full auto it recoiless like crazy but if you put your gun on single fire and shoot it super fast there's no recoil it makes no sense. The specialist are lame their quips are cringe worthy and not having team uniforms takes away from reaction time, takes away from immersion and just makes the game look like a worse call of duty. The graphics are awful. Maps are bad little detail and no cover. Everything is to speed apart all you do is run around to die by a tank or helicopter. The helis are super op by the way with infinite flares. Nvehicles no longer need to repair themselves and they no longer run out of ammo. There's no leaderboard no scoreboard no clans nothing from previous games. Even after a third update the game still resets your classes.     Frame rate issues, weapon bloom is horrible, revive glitches, glitchy spawn menu, a host of in game glitches, on top of that they removed sooo many features from this game it’s ridiculous. I was excited for it, but it turns out they just wanted to push out a turd that feels like too much like COD to get those players instead of making it for BF fans. Sooo many missing features, only 7 maps at launch, and way too many bugs. Only consider this if there is a discount in like 4 months when they fix this.

    I have seen games run better on a toaster, this series is going backwards and is an alpha state and that's a stretch, no amount of update can save it, so many core problems the devs don't know what they are doing or EA is forcing them to make this poor "game" just to milk monitization from kids who don't know any better.     Crashes Xbox Series X frequently. Squads and loadouts don’t matter. Few guns and poor map design. MTX business model in an unfinished full price game. Have been playing all of the battlefield games since bf2 and have been an avid fan of the franchise. Wasn’t a huge fan of 1 or V, but I had high hopes for this game. Hugely disappointed, save your money.

If u want to waste your money and be mad at you - go ahead --> buy battlefield 2042. As XSX player - usually i cannot finish even one round. All the time crashes, freezes, slide shows. Its totally unplayable.

    First the cross-platform ruins the game ( for console players ) and that i can't be disabled.
    The amount of cheaters and hackers ecountered in game is just crazy. Only 5 maps in the game ?     Absolute trash. Worst BF game I’ve ever played. Highly recommend not to buy. If you did, ask for your money back. The fact that publishers and developers can get away with releasing an unfinished game is pathetic. They’re following in the footsteps of Medal Of Honor. I’d be surprised if this doesn’t kill the franchise.

As a longtime battlefield player (original bad company) I have always loved their multiplayer experiences. HELL, i even enjoyed Hardline for a bit! However, this game an abomination to the series. Let me first state that YES - this game is soooo fun. I have a blast playing it especially with my buddies on PC where i just use discord to communicate. Thats about the only positive thing i have to say. Where do i begin? Lack of guns, lack of customization, NO SCOREBOARD ?? Console players cannot even see the simple stats that PC players can like kills and deaths while in game. Ridiculous. The Hit registration and TTK are extremely unpredictable, theres only 6 maps and it feels like you only play Manifest 24/7. I cannot believe what kind of state this game was released in. DICE and EA should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. The game industry HAS to stop letting games release in states like this. We paid money for a working, finished product.… Expand

    For now I will the game a generous 4 but there is still work to be done. As of the most recent patch they fixed you not being able to revive teammates and increased server stability. However there are some glaring bugs and issues such as the character hit box's, almost no destruction, game crashes trying to pull up pause or leaderboard menu's, and also when you revive a teammate theFor now I will the game a generous 4 but there is still work to be done.     Destruction is still cool, and in the end I have to give the creators credit for the fact that the much marketing-washed akedo has its moments. Everything else that made a good Battlefield is completely missing, and that chase for record-breaking size or player count is really a poor substitute for well-designed maps, rich content in the form of game modes, and certainly no substitute for the original class system that the gameplay has always relied on in the first place.     Battlefield 2042 is a huge disappointment for gamers and the Battlefield franchise. Had this been the product of an indie developer, then this might be a different story as it would be understandable how a game like this could be the product of an independent studio that doesn’t have enormous corporate backing. Instead, EA pumped more resources into creating a CGI film that acts as the only real source of storyline context than ensuring the game was going to live up to the enormous amount of hype they were trying to create. I hate saying such negative things in my reviews, but when a game developer can’t be bothered to even try and live up to it’s own legacy, then I have to call it as I see it and for that very reason, I don’t recommend this game. Not even the nostalgia or temptation of ‘Battlefield Portal’ is enough to save this game from itself.

    Battlefield 2042 absolutely should have been pushed back by EA and DICE to some point in 2022. Instead, the version of this game that is currently available has been virtually unplayable for me at times since first releasing. Even beyond this, though, some of the key design changes that DICE has made in Battlefield 2042 don't feel for the better. Rather than improving on the core Battlefield experience that fans loved with Battlefield 3, 4, or Bad Company 2, 2042 is a bloated husk of its former self that is trying to recapture some semblance of its previous glory. As a fan that has been playing this series for well over a decade, Battlefield 2042 is a massive disappointment that I struggle to think is even worth saving.
