May 24, 2023After Us is a wonderful, dream-like journey through the evils of the world, an epic with a profound storyline and setting that makes us reflect on the path of humanity and everything around it. An excellent platformer, with a respectable duration and plenty of collectables to gather. A must-buy for fans of the genre.

May 23, 2023After Us is a grim yet hopeful tale of what the future of humanity and our planet looks like, given our current actions. Within its dark moments shine a fantastic platformer that shouldn’t be missed. It not only carries a strong message, but it also shows what is possible for the platformer genre on modern consoles.

May 31, 2023There’s a chance that you may find After Us a bit too depressing, and it has to be said that the combat is highly repetitive. But the scale of the level design, visuals, and soundscore found here are outstanding.

May 24, 2023After Us is a 3D game that offers us a different and hard story. Feelings will be on the surface and reaching the end will be difficult due to the great level design.

Oct 16, 2023After Us is, in every sense of the word, an independent game in its production, gameplay and narrative. It’s a title with a powerful message that everyone will be able to play and understand, but not necessarily enjoy. After Us wants (and actually succeeds) to convey a very concrete message about the calamities of the modern world, our disconnection with nature and primal energies. However, this powerful message partly hinders the experience and fun of the game, which suits it well, but it can take a while to capture attention.

Jul 30, 2023After Us features a sprawling, desolate world painstakingly crafted to show the destruction wrought by human greed, but its camera controls and level design make the platforming awkward and often frustrating.
-
Jun 5, 2023After Us had some lofty goals and it shows but sadly, they didn’t quite reach those highs. Incredible art direction and a dope soundtrack sadly don’t make up for the ‘tacked’ on combat and the very floaty platforming controls. The design choice to make it open world is also a head scratcher because the game absolutely does a poor job of telling players where to go next. I’m left wondering what could have been with After Us, had the combat been taken out I think this would have been a much better adventure.

May 23, 2023With After Us, the Piccolo studio once again flexes its ability to make video games go beyond mere entertainment. Despite a simple gameplay, the title manages to surprise the player with each new environment. Its clever level design manages to break the corridor effect inherent to the genre. Even if the camera system could be improved, nothing hinders the player's progressive awareness. After the ten hours or so spent with the controller in hand, we came back to reality with a different perspective. This title undoubtedly deserves its place among the nominees at the next Game Awards.
