    Zero Strain on Xbox One is a high quality top down shooter that has all the essentials that a game from the genre needs - the replayability, the challenge, and the engaging gameplay. Besides some minor setbacks, this can satisfy even the most white knuckled gamer and for the price that’s asked, it’s more than a good deal for the fun that it can offer.

    Zero Strain is game is an arena shooter of sorts. The levels come in three flavors. Descent levels see you clearing out small areas full ofZero Strain is game is an arena shooter of sorts. The levels come in three flavors. Descent levels see you clearing out small areas full of enemies and Boss levels have you facing off against a single, larger enemy. These two level types alternate but are occasionally punctuated with Protect levels where you have to defend a target from waves of enemies. Eastasiasoft’s not so famous even can be called notorious in someways but when we are talking about shoot 'em up they are the developers that you would look for. They even put some moba mechancis in to it. The controls are a little strange though. Viewed from above, you’d expect to aim with the right stick but instead you fire with the X button and you auto-lock onto the nearest target. There's some ship choices you can make and no matter which of the many ships you choose, you’ll have one main gun, three special moves, and a special passive ability, as if you were playing a character from a MOBA. With the exception of your main gun, which is also your weakest attack, all of your other abilities need to be charged before being used. You can charge each of their individual meters byut you guessed it, blowing up tons of enemy ships. It might be a confusing control scheme, but it’s a simple and entertaining gameplay loop at least.… Expand
