    A simple implementation game but one that will keep you strangely hooked on it with the goal of breaking our own records, reaching the highest wave with our friends.

    With this game originally releasing on February 3, 2010, you can see that the years haven't been kind. With less content than a Chinese fortune cookie, and less entertaining as well, I'd personally save the $4.99 and spend it on something else, unless you just have to try the game, but you've been warned.

    There is no doubt that Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is more crisp and graphically pleasing than the first, but where the game could have had more distinct zombies, different backgrounds, and more customization, it stayed with the same ole’ boring. For four bucks you can have a decent time with the game, just don’t expect it to be a regular pull on game night.

    This is a game with a fairly simple graphic design. Its characters contribute nothing, and its only scenario is very basic. Its greatest achievement is the number of zombies on screen. It is a good shooter although more destructive power in the weapons would be nice. The game is enjoyable in company, while in single player mode it gets boring in the first hour.

    YAZDHD isn’t an expensive game, so I am not too fussed about the value prospect. It may not look pretty, but it handles well and if it wasn’t for the online bugs and the lack of player base, I would probably recommend this more. But if you regularly have friends over, then this wouldn’t be the worst way to spend some time.

    Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is a bog-standard game that doesn’t particularly do much to stand out. Sure, there’s support for both local and online play across three game modes in total, but its lack of innovation and depth does little to elevate the experience above its peers. In fairness, the game is fun in short bursts and comes with a decent gameplay foundation. Just don’t expect to be blown away.

    With no shortage of zombie games to purchase or browse through in the store, it's hard to understand what void Yet Another Zombie Defense HD is trying to fill. It's a top-down twin-stick shooter that doubles as a base-defence zombie game... however it doesn't do anything to push the boundaries that other titles have already established. It is fun to play in short bursts, and its longevity is only extended by finding some local or online people to play with, but even still, the many shortcomings are impossible to ignore. While Yet Another Zombie Defense HD didn't have to bring anything new to the table, it still needed to be a zombie-stew worth eating and unfortunately, despite having some potential, it's still missing quite a few ingredients to make this experience worth anyone's while.

    It may come in on the cheap side which is always a positive, but if you’re after a meaningful zombie experience, this is definitely one you can afford to leave behind.

    It's possible to have fun playing this game, but only for one short burst during your very first game. After that, you'll be questioning why you ever spent your time with this one in the first place.

    Everyone has probably played some type of zombie game at some point in in the past. There’s so many of the zombie type game’s have definitelyEveryone has probably played some type of zombie game at some point in in the past. There’s so many of the zombie type game’s have definitely grown stale over recent year’s so sometimes it’s hard to get excited when a new zombie game is released. The newest zombie game to recently arrived on Xbox is called Yet Another Zombie Defense HD which falls in as a parody of pun on the number zombie games on the market. Unfortunately this game fails to offer anything new that we’ve not already seen before and while it can be fun at times it just has too many let downs. Without a doubt the best way to enjoy this game is when played with other people because it could actually be quite fun when played co-op. When it comes to playing on your own though you start to notice very quickly how repetetive the gameplay is and if you haven’t got anybody to play with then gameplay is only only goos to play in short bursts. If you haven’t got a local friend to play along with you then the game does offer online play but at the moment the online doesn’t work well and it’s very difficult to get into an online game. Even though the online doesn’t work well I was pleased to see it included and in terms of content this game has quite a lot for you to be getting on with and when you factor in the game’s low price you do get very good value for your money. Unfortunately though as you progress through this content you will bump into quite a few technichal issues along the way and some of these issues can be frustrating. Another aspect of the game I found rustrating were the in game combat elements. The combat in the game feels very awkward and never seems to get better throughout your time with the game and when you combine this shortcoming with the high difficulty curve the game has you do end up having quite a lot of frustrating moments to tackle. The presentation side of the game may not be to everybody’s liking but I actually found it to be quite pleasing. Visually the game captures the zombie-vibe quite well and when you combine the creepy and eerie sound design you do end up becoming a little bit more immersed in the gameplay. At the end of the day as far as zombie game’s go Yet Another Zombie Defense HD isn’t the greatest example. There are quite a few superior game’s out there for you to try and any fun the game gives you is quickly forgotten due to the game’s shortcomings and for that reason I can’t fully recommend this game for everyone, but the price tag may work it worth a look for a little fun.… Full Review »
