WRC 9’s incredible stages make it easy to recommend to series first-timers, although it's not a huge leap from WRC 8.

With the addition of the new Clubs mode, this is the most competitive entry in the series yet, and it’s also the biggest thanks to the three new rallies that have been introduced. But more importantly, it’s the best-playing WRC game to date, going toe-to-toe with the DiRT Rally series. At this moment in time, WRC 9 is the closest thing to a perfect rally game we’ve got.

Publisher Nacon and developer KT Racing have built a very solid Rally title with WRC 9, even though there aren’t many improvements over the last edition. It’s definitely a worthy investment for Rally fans, especially if you skipped last year’s WRC 8, though I’m not sure it’s worth upgrading straight away if you’re still plugging away at that title. At least not until a good sale comes along. While it does have some multiplayer modes, at the time of this writing I was unable to find any open lobbies. But to be fair most people probably prefer the career mode, because you really aren’t racing head to head anyway.

WRC 9 is a little bit continuous from the previous edition, but it is undoubtedly overflowing with quality for another year.

WRC 9 is a logical evolution. It offers the same rally experience with the official license of WRC, giving a simulation experience, and it is not a game for novice racers. Improved physics, dynamic weather, and the career mode offers more to fans, but without important changes.

Despite some technical issues, WRC 9 delivers on its core mechanics, offering a deep and rewarding off-road racing game.

WRC 9 is definitely the best WRC game yet, and one of the best racing games of this generation. It's not perfect though, as rather shallow career mode and absence of some big cars are noticeable; but its solid physics and handling of cars and diverse environments are enough to make it worth every racing fan's while.

WRC 9 is the best chapter produced so far by the French team Kylotonn Racing, improving a very solid career mode and innovating the multiplayer.

WRC 9 pushes forward KT Racing's series with a deeper and satisfying managerial aspect, a great car feeling and top-notch audio. It only gets dragged down by not too satisfying graphics and lack of meaningful visual damage, aspects we hope will be improved in the future.

KT Racing has excelled itself with this one. WRC 9 is the French studio's best rallying effort to date, with a superb Career Mode, licensed cars and tracks out the wazoo, slick, responsive handling, and a surfeit of options.

WRC 9 does not stand out from its predecessor.

For fans of the genre, WRC 9 is a very good facsimile of what it must be like to run a WRC team, but for those of you who want their rally driving to be more enjoyable and less like being mugged, then DiRT Rally 2.0 is where the smart money goes.

WRC 9 is yet the next installment in my long time enjoyable rally series. Let's make one thing clear, this isn't a leap forward in the sameWRC 9 is yet the next installment in my long time enjoyable rally series. Let's make one thing clear, this isn't a leap forward in the same sense that WRC 8 was however the net generation is right around the corner and it will be interesting to see what enhancements await with games like dirt 6 Irving soon.. The racing in WRC 9 is surely fantastic. It's still accessible enough that people of all ages can set up and enjoy they game at their desired skill set. It manages this through its improved physics, and just the general feel of the cars handling, as well as how they react to the varying challenges the game brings your way. Fortunately, KT Racing seems to have finally fixed a long-running issue where, even after the slightest of bumps, my car would go flying off like the wright brothers on an early flight attempt. I'm not going to say the car sticks to the road, you'll get some air when needed as this is a rally game after all, but all this is part of the racing and your car responding to the track is a great improvement. About responding to the track, you'll find the game offers great reactions to different surface types and weather conditions. From dirt to gravel, a dry surface, to a soaked surface, or snow, you'll find it genuinely feels different with a change of course or a change of car. When it comes to the awe striking weather effects in WRC 9. You'll find it a lot more challenging and a struggle to stay on course and not find yourself wrapped around the scenery as frequently. Well, you may find yourself wrapping yourself around a surprising obstacle every now and then, particularly when you find a tree for example that's just chilling in the middle of the course? One thorn still there and if I've complained, you're allowed to go a bit off track and if you crash, the game needs to give you more time to recover. By the time I'm recovering myself the game is transporting me back on the track with a stern look on its face and a sharp penalty to my time. WRC 9 is a genuinely beautiful game. From the great shots of light filtering through the lush trees, to the impossibly dark extreme weather events you can find in the campaign. If you turn your lights off, all you can hear is the thunder of the torrential rain on your roof and the crash as you hit the wall you couldn't see after spinning out after aquaplaning. The only issue you may find is if you look too closely at the spectators or some backgrounds, the same quality isn't always apparent. However, you're not meant to be focusing on them, you're meant to be zipping past at 200 miles per hour to the winners cup. At least that's how the engines sound, well, if you're going that fast. The audio is on the same level as the visuals. WRC 9 is yet another step ahead for the WRC series from previous installments. However, unlike last year's outing which was a massive leap, this seems to be content to simply refine. In keeping with that the visuals , audio, general racing improvement, as well as improved physics. There are a few bugs but nothing game breaking in the least. There's no doubt that WRC 9 is a strong contender and should certainly be on the list for anybody who wants a great rally game for their Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X in a few months time. no such weight feel. it feels like a boat sailing on an ice track. Controller tried too.
The controller cannot play at all. Being the worst rally game I have ever played, the same is the case with other wrc games The PS2 wrc extreme was the last decent wrc game. Even in a V-Rally 4 arcade game, a better driving feel than in this rubbish pile. WRC should take the model of Dirt / 2.0 model of how the driving feel is made good for both steering wheels as well as the controller
Career is practically the same as WRC 8.
The performance is poor on the
Xbox one x How hard it is to get 1080p at 60fps. Why other game makers succeed
but it is very difficult for this company to optimize the game.
