    World of One is far more frustrating than it is fun. Don’t be fooled by its decent Limbo-esque design, because for the most part, you’re either subject to cheap deaths, sluggish combat, or bugs that are seemingly game-breaking. There’s a few exciting moments and some interesting ideas thrown into the mix later in, but nothing that can be considered particularly redeeming.

    I really enjoyed the style they went with when it came to both the visuals and sound design because this style hasn’t been done very often andI really enjoyed the style they went with when it came to both the visuals and sound design because this style hasn’t been done very often and feels unique. The story that’s present in the game doesn’t have much in terms of depth what was available to me kept me interested during my time with the game. Some puzzles in the game have a decent amount of creativity in them and completing these said puzzles felt rewarding. Unfortunately, the game has far too many bugs and technical issues which frustrate you a lot along the way to truly enjoy it. The combat never seems to get going and in the end nothing much really stands out here. If you don’t like game’s where you die a lot then this game isn’t for you because at times all you ever seem to do is die. I found the boss battles to be dull and annoying for the most part. The controls didn’t always feel as tight and responsive as they should have been which caused me to experience even more deaths. Limbo is one of my favourite game’s I’ve ever played so if a game has a style that’s similar to Limbo then it pretty much has my interest straight away. Unfortunately though whilst World of One has a similar visual style to that of Limbo that’s where the goodness pretty much stops and in the end and you’re left with what results in a less satisfying experience. The issues rvary but one issue that really stands out is the bugs the game suffers with. These bugs aren’t few and far between either so you’ll bump into them quite a lot during your time with the game, which is very frustrating to say the least. This added frustration isn’t a good thing either because there’s already a lot of frustrating moments present thanks to the constant dying and the awkward and finnicky combat. This then means that the things the game gets right like the story and creative puzzles are quickly forgotten because there’s just too much wrong with the game. At the end of the day then World of One doesn’t do enough to get a recommendation from me and even though it isn’t the worst game I’ve ever played before it can’t be classed as a good game either and in the end there are much better games for you to try out in this genre.… Full Review »
