    What a great game. I love it!!! Total fun with a Tarantino esque story, what more could you want? This game definitely deserves better scores across the board! Hands down beats what is out there right now for a offline shooter. We don't always need a online aspect to a game for it to be great.

    Just buy it. It's quite fun. The perk system is an extension that is welcomed. The story is nice. It's got some nudity so watch out. I hope Doom is as good. The weapons are smooth. I'm rocking a silenced piston for this play through. "choose"!

    I love it, GREAT story, When you have a nightmare (sleep on a bed) you get the old school 8 bit wolf game..Funny..Game play feels responsive and it is fun killing NAZI's...Feels like inglorious Bastards. I have been waiting for a decent game on the XBOX One and finally it is here. Price is OK, 59.99 and at target you get a 10 dollars gift card so 49.99... Feels like bio shock in Nazi times.

    I was rather sketchy about this game for 2 reasons, It was not developed by ID Software and it would be too dumbed down for casual players such as health regenerating, Quick Time Events (QTE) cut scenes and pretty much anything you see in modern shooters but thank fully, I was no longer sketchy when I played this game.

    The game itself is a great and fun experience, You can just be a ultimate Nazi killing machine or be a complete stealthy ninja either way the game gives you the option on how you want to play it. To me the best feature of the game is NO HEALTH REGEN, The way it should be for all shooters. It gives you a challenging experience by keeping your head low and thinking smart (If you're playing on the 2nd hardest difficulty) and keeping you on your toes as well.

    Admittedly the graphics looks ok certainly not next-gen standard but thanks to the amazing ID Tech 5 engine, The game runs at a constant 60FPS at 1080p! There were times where I would be shooting everything and destroy random stuff just to purposely make it drop but I failed to do so, Great job to the guys at Machine Games for optimizing the engine so well for both Xbox One and PS4!

    If I am honest, The only con I can think of for the game itself is the fact that is is single player only, This may not be an issue to some players but I do like to play online every now and then, Also the price tag (£44.99) might be off putting to some players considering it is a single player only title but however there is replay value to the game itself!    … Expand

    Loving this game, It is a great fun experience. The story is cheesey and doesn't take it's self too seriously. It is a great refreshing change to the over saturated grey modern war games they are flooding the market.

    Dual machine guns ftw!

    Due to the amount of fun I'm having playing this I have no choice but to rate it a 10. There are some small glitches like drones flying through walls but these are far and few between and by no means affect the experience or are worth the point dock. It looks good. It has some of the smoothest controls I've ever seen and the story actually has merit. The 'upgrades' which enhance the abilities of the limited set of weapons nicely prevent them from becoming boring as does the dual-wield option. Tepid games like Titanfall should take notes on how to make weapons feel good to fire from this game. You can taste obvious Rage flavors throughout but they have managed to breathe life into this that Rage never had. Easily one of the best shooters ever not just on this console. Buy it.… Expand

    You'll only know the meaning for BADASS after play this game.
    Its a incredible shooter with significant characters and amazing combat scenes, the gameplay is outstanding with a lot of collectibles and secrets, the graphics may be the only thing that disappointed me.

Wolfenstein's story may not be the new benchmark for first person shooters, but it does do story very well, with some emotional scenes thrown in, with very VERY good voice acting.

    The characters of the game keep you going, it makes you feel like they matter in some way and thats amazing.
    The gameplay is the usual take cover, peak out and shoot, or run, slide throw a knife and repeat. There are however some stealth elements to this game, which work very well and when done right can be extremely enjoyable.
    Graphics are very good, I mean they don't scream out next gen like a few others but hey its pretty damn close.
    Replay value is also there, from dozens of collectables, to getting all the perks and so forth and also making a certain decision can alter the story.
    This game is by far the best FPS this year (so far)
    Its not a game you'd regret purchasing.

The game really transports you to an alternate past in history while giving you that over the top crazy action straight out of a Tarintino movie.     FWIW, I've never felt the need to review anything for Metacritic until now. This game was enough to make me want to write it up, because it's. really. good.

    For these folks that are complaining that it's not like CoD or Halo...that's because it's NOT. It's an entirely different game -- it's an FPS in the classic sense. It has a great storyline, plenty of weapons, a decent perk &    FWIW, I've never felt the need to review anything for Metacritic until now. This game was enough to make me want to write it up, because it's. really. good.

    Looks and sound, fantastic. My soundbar w/subwoofer makes it sound great; headphones, just as great. They did a bang-up job with the sound, no pun intended.

    Graphics? Excellent. They're not attempting "Heavy Rain" with facial scanning, but it's more "real" than cartoony when it comes to the cut-scenes.

    Yeah, you could wait until someone sells a used copy back to GameStop and buy it slightly discounted, or wait for years until it drops significantly in price. I get that, and I do that myself sometimes. However, this really has been worth the price so far. Really, REALLY happy I snagged it.    … Expand

    I gotta sayi was sceptic about this game but i remembered id and bethesda look over their projects well.     What a fantastic game. Downloaded it from the marketplace, as i wanted a good single player game. Thats exactly what i got, but not good- extreamly good! What a truly fantastic story, with great voice acting. Not only that, but coupled with lots of collectibles, secret rooms, crazy weapons, and a crazy but effective twist on the ww2 setting- makes for an excellent game everybody shouldWhat a fantastic game.     Ok, with these style of games, being a classic style first person shooter, you either love them or you hate them, rarely do they have a middle ground. That said, this game walks that fine line where I can expect new comers to pick up the game and have just the same amount of over the top, blood gushing fun that a die hard fan could have. The guns are a treat to use and dual-wielding is a blast with all the different weapon combos that you can create with them which only accelerates the high end action that you'd expect from a Wolfenstein game. With great amounts of gore, insane action, crazy boss battles with more guns than Sly Stallone, I cant recommend this game enough.… Expand

    The maps are expansive and not claustrophobic like the on-rail shooters (BF,COD) muricans love so much.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Okay, Metacritic, I am so sick of people giving games 0 or 1 when they don't deserve it, okay some games isn't that great, but don't deserve that score at all. Let us jump into the game.

    No Multiplayer. Thank you Machine Games!, there are so few titles left on the market who avoid MP which still leads them to great success (Metro 2033 and Light Light and many other titles, but I need to focus on this game) We can see what happend to the last Wolfenstein game which had MP in it, it was garbage, no one played it, and it was unbalanced. But this Wolfenstein focus on the old games. Wolfenstein 3D and Return to the castle, people complain about the graphic. The graphic is smooth and nice, I must say, perfect for this game. The story is really a interested game, where Machine Games, made a crazy theory, about how the Nazis won world war 2. And they delivered it perfect with showing how the Nazis was in World War 2. (killing people for fun)

    The stealth is awful. Enemy got their back against you all the time, or if they are to far away throw a dagger into on of the enemies toes and they die, I prefer if they were avoiding Stealth, but again you could also stealth in Return to the Castle and if I remember correct Wolfenstein 3D, but you can't stop using stealth if you are going after perks (which is introduced in this game) the perks let you reload faster while you using 2 guns and so on. Which I think it's pretty nice, and of course the old treasure hunting from Return to Castle is back, secret corridors. So Machine Games really delivered a re-visit to the old famous shooter Wolfenstein 3D.

    Will I recommend the game for you?

    YES! If you love Serious Sam or just old shooters, where you are the hero with a lot of power, this game is for you. MP, you won't even notice that the MP is missing with over 20 hours of SP. I must say this a pick!

    It isn't worth the pricetag. It's not as bad as say the latest duke nukem, but sure as hell isn't a Halo combat evolved. That is I definitely won't be playing it through more than twice. I loved Halo CE, and beat it's single player campaign at least 12 times at varying difficulties--this is no Halo CE. If you do get it, I recommend that you buy it used from gamestop later on down theIt isn't worth the pricetag. It has a metallic environment and a dark atmosphere, and both really create a true tension. Model and level design are very interesting, since they really give life to the fiction.

    The soundtrack is fine too, very appropriate. They give a true sense of power to the weapons; and musics are accompanying the action well, but somewhat discrete. Voice acting is brilliant.

    Now for the gameplay, it is marvellous. You have a full control over your character, thanks to lying down and leaning options. And the possibility to dual-wield every weapon brings a whole lot of fun. And the best part is that you can go all guns blazing like a walking tank; or you can chose the shadow way, and going stealth all the way. The commanders can call for reinforcements in case of alert, and this really deserves the gameplay, strategizing it a lot, and I must not forget to mention the huge diversity of enemies. However, even on its hardest difficulty level, the AI somewhat fails sometimes (but very little). The choice you are given to make in the very first chapter, is minor, but it is interesting to see how the designers created every level, giving you different progress opportunities depending on that choice. Its replay value is huge.

    But where my heart found its pleasure, is in the fan service. True Wolfenstein fans will find a lot of easter eggs, in reference to the past episodes. And the different cliches are really enjoyable and very well implemented.

    This game is one of the best you can find, if you are looking for a strong solo experience. And the history this licence carries, with its one of a kind feel in atmosphere and gameplay will keep you entertained for long long hours.    … Expand

    Fans of Wolfenstein of old will appreciate how it has grown and matured, and newcomers will enjoy playing in this horrific alternate history. Not to mention, every day is a great day to shoot Nazis.

    Ultimately you have to scrape to find a substantive problem with Wolfenstein: The New Order. If you mandate profound innovation in the games you play, it’s possible that New Order may be too traditional for your tastes. Regardless, it’s a well-made, extremely create, and fun ass game. If you want to sit down and just have fun, you can’t ask for more than that.
