The game is not fun, the controls are sluggish, framerate dropped to about 5FPS in one mission. Even though it is free, I see no reason to play more that the two hours I have just played.

I'd rate this game much lower if it costed any money, but it's free so I'll give it something.

Don't be fooled by the fanboys (I used to be one). This game is Free-To-Grind, not Free-to-Play. It is a well disguised money pit. Every aspect of this game is designed to irritate players and drive them into MTX purchases, although there's nothing small about Warframes "Micro-transactions".

Let me say first, that Warframe just as a game was phenomenal. An outstanding game. Warframe as a business model to make money is disgustingly greedy. I played this game from 2014 - 2017. The first 2 years were amazing. Then DE was bought by the Chinese and its gone downhill ever since.

Literally every update since they sold out, every step, every iteration has only increased the grind and the cheap tactics DE uses to empty your wallet. You must have Platinum (the games premium currency bought with real $) to play this game, anyone who says otherwise is lying to you.

More Warframes = more slots needed = $$$
Weapons need Orokin Catalysts to be fully maxed = $$$ ($1.50 per weapon- 3 weapons per loadout)
Warframes need Orokin Reactors to be maxed out = $$$ ($1.50 per warframe)
Change your Warframes color? $$$ ($5 per color palette)
Add cosmetics/armor? $$$ (can range between $10-$30 real money!)
    Decorate your ship? $$$
    Customize the operator? $$$
Want a rug for your animal companion? $$$
    Change animal companion colors? $$$
    Companion armor? $$$
    Sentinel (robot companion) customization? $$$
(Admittedly cool looking) "Delux" character skins? $10-$20
    Weapon skins? $$$
    Affinity (xp) Boosters = $$$
Credit Boosters = $$$ LOL! Get more in game money by draining your real wallet xD

Virtually NONE of what is listed above is available through gameplay (they offer cosmetic helmets from time to time and THATS IT).

That's assuming you're willing to grind your butt off for weapons and warframes. Want to skip that grind?

    Prime Access = $80
    Prime Accessories = $60
    Warframes (characters/classes) = $5-$15
    Weapons? $5-$10

Moderators, on both the chat channel and on their forums are abusive beyond belief. Often politically motivated when they ban people, they have no problem slinging accusations/libel AT THEIR OWN FANS, while banning people they claim are doing that very thing.

They're also locking forum threads that are even slightly critical of Warframe. Bungie has thicker skin than these guys. Also, if your game glitches during trading, they may lock your account and KEEP the Platinum you've purchased. It happens to people so beware (the devs are snakes).

Devs also like to wine and dine Youtubers for free marketing. Just FYI (ever notice all the glowing praise for Warframe lately? Yeah, there's a reason for that...)

This game isn't just a monumental time sink. It isn't just the grindiest game on the market. It is the most shockingly greedy money pit disguised as a game I have ever seen. EA/Activision/Bungie aren't allowed to get away with this; why is Warframe any different?

Time and money are better spent elsewhere. I wish I could get both back from this greedy dev.

Came back after walking away for about 6 months. I think they're making the game harder to push MTX's. Either that or they genuinely have no clue how to balance this absurdly complicated game. Can't tell any more. The same problems from release are still problems today. If this game were a car, it would have the exterior of a Ferrari and the interior of an abused Gremlin with duct tape everywhere and dirty clothes sticking to the roof. Youtubers recently posted video of being wined, dined and receiving free gifts from DE in exchange for all the "Warframe is amazing!" videos. Mystery solved ;)

Sneaky snakes, these devs at Digital Extremes. Moderators are bridge trolls, I won't even go into the damage they're doing to their own brand right now.

New quest sucks. Takes place in common levels/tile sets that players have already seen a million times. Once again, they force players to use that wonderful (re: awful) Operator combat. Pew pew pew with your crappy wrist laser (better fight that stupid- er I mean amazing Eidolon boss... that barely 1% of players even have the achievement for). And be careful, don't get stagger locked! Just kidding, you will absolutely get stagger locked. Because enemy encounters and overall game design was, is and continues to be absolute trash.

What do I know? Those YouTubers, their opinions aren't compromised by free gifts or anything...

I understand this is a free to play game, but there has never, in the history of video games, been a clearer example of "Pay to win". IF you are unlucky enough to live on Earth, then be prepared to lose countless hours or progress because you spilled a drink, or are sitting funny or absolutely anything that requires you to take your eyes off this game for more than 2 seconds. Well, I was banned for no reason at all just because a chat moderator apparently hated me for reasons I was never aware of. After 3000 hours in game and free publicity, they're so petty they can't even tell me what I did wrong,

I even had the proof and reported everything to support but they never seem to help at all.

When it comes to take your money, the developers are the best...

But when it comes to game support, it's an absolute joke... Not only they aren't doing anything to fix problems (a 5 minute issues need at least 3 months to get resolved), they are making things worst and are attacking players. In-game cosmetics cost is such a shame : for the cost of every armor in the game, you

    Gameplay was good, but repetitive,
    Story was original.

No endgame and the devs pander to the players that play once a year as opposed to the players that play everyday, there’s only about 2 updates a year that add new content, and the reset is just selling skins. Example:
Even for the most recent update people were saying it didn’t add anything besides a quest and the devs then promised they would add stuff, they proceeded to add $400 worth of cosmetics and made is so we could replay the quest 3 months later.

Our time with the game has in no way been brief, yet so much remains to be explored. Community events, an evolving storyline, clans, and the sheer number of missions and locations will keep us returning to this space opera on a regular basis for months, maybe even years to come.
  3. A bit broken, quite derivative and short on narrative appeal - but rich with customisation possibilities and enjoyable at the level of the firefight.
