This game has lots of potential but certain game mechanic problems I feel will hold it back. The game is fast paced and fun but the spawning and unbalanced nature create rage inducing problems. After me playing the PC version for so many years i'm pretty disappointed on how Warface came to the console market pretty unprepared. Since My.Com took publisher rights the game went downhill, horrible server instability, Horrible Pay-2-Win System, and hell not even stable 60fps experience (and this is a 2014 F2P jeez), even worse when you play COOP or Spec Ops, and the game gets updatesAfter me playing the PC version for so many years i'm pretty disappointed on how Warface came to the console market pretty unprepared. Since My.Com took publisher rights the game went downhill, horrible server instability, Horrible Pay-2-Win System, and hell not even stable 60fps experience (and this is a 2014 F2P jeez), even worse when you play COOP or Spec Ops, and the game gets updates only months prior to the content already released on PC as PS4 is getting updates first and then Xbox is getting them last! This is completely outrageous coming from developers who have such a quality team when it comes to developing games. At last, the Pay To Win aspect doesn't go out as this is the same thing as it is on PC. Overall i'm pretty disappointed on how this game came to the consoles, should've come more polished, with more content and probably a team 100% dedicated to the consoles to bridge this horrible content gap. i'll be leaving a Score of 7 simply because even afterall these problems, Warface still manages to feel like a Triple A game when it comes to overall gameplay. And for one last thing i hope i don't have to say how DISGUSTING is having to pay Early Access for a game that's going to be free anyway, jeez Crytek, please change your game's publisher it's only going to look bad for you as people still think you're publishing the game and there's a bunch of Youtubers misleading people to believe the same.

    Sincerely,
    Amy

While I am glad that Warface is back after being discontinued on the Xbox 360, it still feels like it hasn't changed much. The graphics and frame rate are pretty decent and the variety of guns is good compared to some games, and the fact that updates are fairly frequent and keeps a flow of new content arriving in the game. The gameplay isn't to bad when you have a few friends, but that's where the good ends. The game severely lacks weapon balance and map design as well as a near impossibility of being able to get new weapons, and even when you do it's usually only a rental. The sliding mechanic is abused severely since almost every enemy you encounter slides at you and one-taps you. The maps only have one fixed spawn point making it easy to spawn camp but is hard to do with the brief spawn invincibility. The weapons are also extremely unbalanced since the poor spas that shell out money to get better stuff are awarded with a near god like advantage since the burst fire rifles have a one hit kill potential and sniper rifles like the Barrett and CheyTac have a one hit kill no matter where it hits or it knocks you down to be finished off. Once you get queued into the professional player lobbies, you'll run into people using ridiculously overpowered and unfair weapons almost 80% of the time and gets annoying to deal with after playing for a while. Then there's the PvP. The PvP, to say the least, is flawed. The maps need redesigning since many players will camp in corners or on top of things. The sliding mechanic is abused. There's also the frequent rubber band lag that will set you back or get instantly killed due to it. The poorly hit detection sets you back even more as every shot you take is a game of luck as shots that should kill your enemy quick only do minimal damage. Though it is slightly entertaining, it gets boring, frustrating and repetitive after a while. The PvE is decent in its own right but can be improved upon with a better enemy spawn system and a more forgiving loss scenario so you can restart at a checkpoint rather than restarting the whole thing. The microtransactions are to be expected since, like Fortnite, it needs to rely on them for a money source. Overall, the game has some good things about it and could have been so much more if they put more time into improving it and making it more balanced, stable, and easier for people to get new things. Its the poor man's C.O.D. Expand

This is a substandard FPS with a pretty coat of paint. The PVE is as bland as a 3 ingredient salad for dinner. The PvP balancing is a joke with servers that lag and Pay to win guns. It would be fine if there were PvP bots because then you might win for a change and get some enjoyment from being a casual looking for some fun over lunch time. I hope this dies soon. Expand

The game is free and not a pay to win. Having said that, the graphics are surprisingly good whilst the online experience is not the worst i ever had on a game but doesnt feel premium by any means. Most importantly the AI feels like it doesnt pose any threat and AI missions with other players are quite boring.

Content: I've been playing Warface since 2019. In the span of almost 2 years, they only managed to add one game mode (Battle Royale). One. Game. Mode. Not only that, but adding new weapons or armors, just overall variety in these categories was and still is rare. We would get too excited whenever my friend and I would see that there were some cool new stuff in the shop. Only 2 decent mapsContent: I've been playing Warface since 2019. Not only that, but adding new weapons or armors, just overall variety in these categories was and still is rare. We would get too excited whenever my friend and I would see that there were some cool new stuff in the shop. Only 2 decent maps have been added in the 2 years, with the reset being trash.

Monetization: You can buy weapons. You can buy armors. You can literally pay for advantage. I woulda been fine if it was cosmetic, it's expected as a free to play game. But no. They JUST HAD to add prices to 2/3 of the items. While you can earn weapons, armor, attachments, eventually, it just takes sooooo long to get all that stuff and ooooooooooOOOOoooo. You see that you can buy a booster for that. You can pay for boosters (with real world money) to decrease the time to level up, increase the amount of cash you get, crowns you get, and the decrease the amount of time required to get the earnable items. Right now, pretty much all of the weapons as of May 21, 2021, (I have no clue how long it's been like this), you can't purchase weapons with the in game cash. You can rent them with in game money you get from using your mom's credit card, but that's about it. Even better, they have loot boxes, where you have a chance at getting permeant weapons or temporary weapons to use :].

Variety: There are tons of stuff you can get in this game. with a few fun modes. Ranked is pretty neat, you can earn free things from it. Overall, the PvP part of the game is done pretty well. Now about the PvE. The co-op missions are normally kinda fun, some cool stuff in there, sometimes reach a annoying parts, with there not being that many missions in co- op, it's still semi-enjoyable. Now about the Spec-ops. Imagine Modern-Warfare (2019) when it first released with spec-ops. Not in terms of the amount of missions, but the everything else. It is absolutely horrid and infuriating. There are so many enemies that you KNOW you are going to need revive tokens (which you can pay for with real world moneeeeyyyy). Missions take long and are not fun (except for the horde defending ones with zombies, but even then, they're still not all that great). You are also going to need at least one of every class in your team, so if you have a class slot that hasn't been filled by another player, you're team is destined to fail.

Extras: The graphics on consoles aren't really good (it would at least be understandable for Switch, but can't say the same for Xbox and Playstation). The settings and customization is fun to mess around with, so that's something good.

Overall: This game is mediocre. Basically, this is what you have whenever you ask your mom if you can get CoD and she says you have CoD at home. The multiplayer is fun, the Co-Op is okay, along with the gameplay being okay, and everything else just kinda sucks. I would love to see this game do better, but if they keep up with this monetization and little content and don't fix their Spec-ops, I have a funny feeling their player base is going to diminish. Is this game worth your time? Personally, I think so if you're just looking for a fun casual multiplayer and cooperative experience with some buds and don't mind all the monetization. But if you have CoD, or (personally I consider better) Battlefield, you would probably have a better time playing those.

Inside the poor polished Warface there is a good core game, with plenty of options for hardcore gamers.

The return of Warface is one that gamers should be happy with. With plenty of game modes to get stuck into, a great variety of weapons to master and no obligation to spend any real money to prove competitive, this is one F2P title that is truly free-to-play, all whilst providing highly enjoyable online focused gameplay.
