    I really enjoyed where the story took me throughout my time with the game and the characters within the story were brilliant and made the story stand out.The presentation side of the game isn’t the best I’ve ever seen I still liked what both the visuals and sound design had to offer. There is a decent amount of variety present in the gameplay and the classic approach they’ve implemented keeps you coming back for more time and time again. The combat is thoroughly enjoyable because each battle feels very creative which in turn kept the combat fresh and interesting throughout. In terms of content the game has a decent amount for you to be getting on with and this content takes place in a fantastic world which means you never get bored. This series is known for its difficulty and there’s no change here so expect to get frustrated every now and then. There isn’t really anything different and you do get the conclusion that the developers played it really safe. it’s been a long time since the last Valkyria Chronicles and I must admit that I didn’t think that a new game was coming to the series, but I’m glad Valkyria Chronicles 4 did finally make it because it was without a doubt worth the wait. If you like a charming and immersive story full of interesting and unique characters then you will love what Valkyria Chronicles 4 has to offer because it really does deliver a tale that’s absolutely brilliant. This isn’t the only brilliant thing either and if you’re a fan of the series then I’ve no doubt that you’ll be more than satisfied with the gameplay. There are a variety of missions for you to get to grips with and the combat that’s present in these missions is very creative which makes it stay fresh and interesting throughout. You will however have to deal with a challenge when it comes to the gameplay though and you will suffer with a few frustrating moments because the difficulty can be a little overbearing at times. That being said I enjoyed the challenge and when it’s all said and done I enjoyed Valkyria Chronicles 4 a lot on the whole and it definitely gets a big thumbs up from me.… Expand

    Solid game, all the mechanics from the earlier entries are improved upon and the new ones feel very useful. Story is fun and thematically darker compared to 1 and 2. I ended up playing through this whole game within two days so it gets a big recommendation from me

    Uno de mis JRPG de estrategia favoritos, gameplay adictivo, hermosos graficos estilo anime, la historia aunque su modo de presentacion es mas parecida a una novela grafica que a un videojuego es muy buena y atrapante. Las cinematicas aunque no son tantas como me gustaria son visualmente epicas.

    Basically an anime you can play every once a while. Sometimes the playable parts are painfully few and far between. If you have trouble enjoying the story, you're probably not going to enjoy the strategy either. Worth checking out for fans of light strategy if you enjoy the backstory and lots and lots of dialogue.

    A solid piece of T-RPG, and still that original gameplay from the previous episodes going along with some improvements to make it even better.
    Besides, the characters are not the most charismatic i've ever seen in the saga and the story is a little bit of a classic one.

I really think that the game had a lot of fun features and it definitely had a great story, however the pacing was really slow and some of the characters were bland. Now by no means does this mean the game is bad, I am just pointing out the short comings of the game. Now for the great things. I really enjoy the new features. The grenadiers were really useful and when you got later into the game if you customized them to use the right mortar launchers for your play-style you'd be set. I really think the dlc missions were also really fun, even the one that kind of breaks the game, but none the less you still get a really good challenge in that. The end of the story is really moving, seeing Raz do what he did and how it affected the main characters was really interesting and moving. I also think the squad-stories and the different units involved in the story are really fun and interesting. Overall its a really good game, despite the really slow pacing and the bland-ish characters. At the end of the day if you can be patient and don't mind dealing with that type of game-play, this game is definitely for you.… Expand

    It’s a very slow paced game overall, so whether Valkyria Chronicles 4 is for you depends on how patient you are and whether the deep story can cover over the gameplay drawbacks.

    If you’re after a strategy game that’s not as stressful as others in the genre, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a great choice. Its beautiful art, story and characters are the icing on a well balanced game that rewards the time and effort you put into it. Keeping on top of some of the nitty gritty can be a bit much at times, but thankfully this doesn’t entirely negatively impact the overall experience.
