V-Rally 4

The tracks are expertly designed to ensure you're always on your toes and always challenged when driving any track, and those tracks themselves are absolutely beautiful and a refreshing experience after years of the same locations from the FIA rally championship tour. There are sore spots, namely the lackluster career mode and an issue with pace notes, but overall this is an unrivaled experience in the rally genre. V-Rally 4 is a game worth experiencing and Kylotonn Games should be on every racing fan's radar after this release.

V-Rally 4 offers wonderful design tracks and delivers some intense races. Unfortunately there is a limited amount of modes and the campaign isn't worth your time.

Every time it takes a step forward in its production value, it seems like something happens resulting in the game taking two steps backwards, and you're left feeling a sense of disappointment. Limited car selection, poor audio, challenging driving mechanics that that feel like a blind folded staffer was the model, really hit this game hard. There seems to be more focus on trying to make the tracks look pretty rather than make a great driving experience, and this is why I would pass on the $59.99 price tag. Saying that breaks my heart, but in reality, V-Rally 4 maybe shouldn't have come back yet?

If V-Rally 4 had a more structured career, I really feel like it would have been a great game. As it is, however, it’s fun until you feel like you’re completing the same events over and over again.

Despite some nice tracks and gameplay features, V-Rally 4 disappoints due to an underdeveloped and chaotic Campaign mode, some driving problems and a somewhat messy interface.

V-Rally 4 transforms the franchise experience into something globally pleasant, gameplaywise, but is way too light on content and environnements. Plus, the AI is catastrophic.

V-Rally 4 is an ambitious and diverse game, but it is ruined with a control that there is nowhere to catch it and a gameplay that deflates every hour we play it.

Weak and a transparent attempt to cash-grab on a forgotten brand. Do not let the nostalgia get to you, basically anything else is a better choice. [Issue#289]

There’s not enough here to keep the V-Rally mode from feeling like a chore rather than an enjoyable and fulfilling career mode, and unfortunately that feeling drips down to the overall V-Rally 4 experience. It’s an unfulfilling experience with no clear idea of what it’s trying to achieve.
