Simply put, Typoman is a superb indie title that I had a brilliant time with. The main campaign may be over in around four hours, but there are a couple of mini games that test your creating skills to the max. The world, the story and gameplay it creates are stunning, with real deep moments of sadness quickly switching to those of hope.

Typoman: Revised has to be one of the biggest surprises of 2017 so far.

I really liked the novelty Typoman: Revised. I can’t speak to any changes made to the game for its Xbox One debut because this was my first time playing it. Even though most of the word puzzles make me feel like I wasted my time as an undergrad, the challenge is unique and I enjoy seeing how the words interact with the word around my player character. Though the three chapter game can be easily finished in a day, the experience is a fascinating and entertaining one.

In a sea of ID@Xbox games, Typoman: Revised stands on its own thanks to its solid gameplay and unique use of words and puzzles. The platforming simply feels good and the usage of letters, words and antonyms add another layer to it.

If you get mad at touchy jumps that require perfection, you might want to stay away.

Overall I did enjoy Typoman for what it is; a fun, short 2D platform puzzler. It may not have a long gameplay length or much replayability, aside from achievement hunting, but I enjoyed the majority of my time with HERO. Well, at least the times I wasn’t dying repeatedly or standing around trying to figure out what word I needed to create to get the opposite word, so I could construct a different word, and the opposite of that, to solve a puzzle. Its biggest downfall is that you’re essentially shoehorned into solving the puzzles in a way they were specifically designed, not allowing much freedom or the ability for your own creative solutions. Typoman may be a short one-off adventure, but its best parts are fun and work well, making up for its those sections that bring frustration.

Typoman: Revised creates a unique and clever experience that ends just in time to salvage a positive experience. The game may not be perfect, like Limbo, but it still looks and plays great, has a message that resonates, and is a genuine surprise in its own right.

A nice "word building" Limbo-like platform game, with great art style and intriguing puzzles, but with imprecise and frustrating platform controls.

Typoman: Revised is an interesting title. It is humble but with some other technical problems. However it has an artistic design that integrates the scenarios in a great way.

I loved the idea behind Typoman, but sadly the the actual implementation didn't play out as I hoped. The graphics are stunning, but the gameplay itself doesn't hold up. It's also extremely short and worse still when you consider the 3 hour runtime is being padded out with lengthy cutscenes and having to repeat sections due to unfair instant deaths. On the other-hand, The Antonymizer mini game was a real hit, but not quite enough to save the game and warrant a purchase.

It isn’t much longer though only taking around 3 hours to complete
This is a story of good vs evil,
A 2d platformer where you play as hero trying to get through to the end of each hour long chapter
This is no ordinary 2d platformer though..
This is a bit of a 2d platformer meets scrabble game…
It will definitely test your wits as your trying to come up with words you can use with the letters around you to activate switches reach higher places and activate a reaction in the games environment..
Thankfully none of the solutions are too hard…
Though some solutions will seem out of place for example a hanging letter in one chapter I needed to use cut to make it drop... while the game spent the other parts of the game teaching me to swing on these letters…
So the game does contradict itself at times…
but these moments are few and far between…
You never feel frustrated even when youre stumped…
its genuinely satisfying solving these word puzzles to continue through these charming and interactive worlds…
    Bringing words to life...
The game eventually even adds a lie creature…
A lie will turn words into their opposites,
giving you more letters to work with and more opportunity for more challenging puzzles...
and that’s exactly what you get before the final boss…
An insane difficulty spike near the end that will have you switching words, making new words, and then switching them, to make even more new words.. And so on…
But like every other challenge the game throws at you... it felt good once that section was finally passed… and I never got angry at the game.. Only at myself...
Typoman offers an enjoyably 3 hour brain teaser worth the run through.
    I give Typoman Revised
    a 7.5/10
