This sequel to the popular TY the Tasmanian Tiger is a game on a grander scale. In addition to classic platforming elements, you'll fight Aussie bush fires from a helicopter, drive around Southern Rivers while hanging on to the back of a four-wheel drive and use the bots to defeat enemies and solve puzzles - all while trying to find a variety of different collectables.

Throw boomerangs, bite, smash and glide your way around the Australian Outback and stop the evil plans of the wicked Boss Cass and help the good folk of the little country town of BURRAMUDGEE.

TY the Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD may not hold a candle to a Ratchet, Crash or Spyro, but this is a little ripper that’s worth a Captain Cook.

You can still see the developer passion for the Ty series even in todays gaming market. This game is an example of how sequels use to be made, usually each game takes what was successful in the previous game and improving on that gameplay, content and overall successes. This game might not impress those that missed it the 1st time or for the newer generations of gamers, but for those that an enjoy the nostalgia will surely be pleased with this release for Xbox. Compared to the first game in the series which was a lot more straight forward, this one takes a different approach for the series. It is still a hub based plat-formng game, but the hub itself is very large and contains numerous sections. This can be somewhat confusing at first as you are not sure if you're actually playing an actual level, or if the whole game is an open-world style game affair. It gives the game a bit of an unusual feel at first, so be sure to give the game its fair chance before jumping to conclusions. As for the remaster itself, it is done fans of the series justice. I would say even better than the first TY remaster. It looks sharper, runs smoother and it's very colorful on the OLED display I played on and the sounds is vibrant on the ear drums. The controls also have been improved like in the first remaster as well. Let's be honest, Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD isn't a Mario 64 contender, however the first game was a bit lacking in comparison to this game in its original form, and felt a bit more clumsy overall. What didn't help was the poor controls, bad camera, average graphics and low frame rate. This has all been fixed in the remasters of both games fortunately for fans and newcomers alike. If you unfortunately missed Ty's games the first time around then do yourself a favor and pick up the 1st game and Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD for your Xbox One. The price isn’t too steep so if you’re a fan of the platforming genre head on over to the digital Xbox games store and give it a download and don’t forget to check out the first game in the series as well.
