Tunic is my favorite game of 2022. In addition to what I’ve discussed above, the graphics are always great to look at and the audio is so good. The soundtrack is on Spotify and I highly recommend giving it a listen. It’s even more mind blowing when you find out that this game was mostly made by one man. Going to give Tunic a 7. Why? Let me explain..

The visual and music in this game are beautuful, I adore both. The main character looks good. The presentation as a whole is great, but I'm tired of these hard for the sake of hard games. Tunic is a very difficult and the devs know this as they put a "No fail mode" option in the options, which is invincibilty. A lot of these indie games are

The visual and music in this game are beautuful, I adore both. The main character looks good. The presentation as a whole is great, but I'm tired of these hard for the sake of hard games. Tunic is a very difficult and the devs know this as they put a "No fail mode" option in the options, which is invincibilty. A lot of these indie games are putting this option in nowadays.

But I'm going to talk about this without acknowledging that no fail mode. Enemies can hit hard and relentlessly. Near the end of the game enemies can drain your maximum HP to nothing with some sort of poison or something. The bosses are difficult also and the combat can be a little sluggish. It does try to be Dark Souls in a way, but it's a bit....Slow.

I like the in game language, but don't like how you can't eventyally get something to translate it, which means you get items, but you have no idea what they d until you use them. Some you can tell what they are like bombs, but the items, which are sort of like the rings from the souls games, you have no idea what they do or what their effects are. I think the dev should have makde it slightly easier to tell what things are and even where to go, as the game never really gives you any direction.

Like I said, the visuals and music are great and I've only given it the 7 due to the invincibility option. In truth, I would have scored this lower if it was non-existant as it is just too hard, even for a souls vet.

Slightly disappointing as I was so hyped for this when I first saw it years ag at E3. It's on Game Pass, so try it yourself any way. It's not a bad game, just unbalanced.

Solid game, if you’re into Zelda: Link’s Awakening on the Switch then you’ll love this game. It’s essentially the XBOX’s version of it in spirit. Great gameplay and the music was phenomenal.

Challenging but fair, the game takes a lot of patience as it organically guides you from point to point with little hand holding. Difficulty isn't terrible, it does take some learning to defeat some of the tougher foes, but rewards you for doing so.

The game is an absolute garbage. A lot of backtracking during the second part, the unbeatable last boss, and mediocre style and graphics. Don't waste your time.

A beautiful-looking Zelda-like game and the best indie game. A game filled with creatures in the lost land with secrets and ancient powers.

I’m play on Xbox One Fat and the graphics fails, but it is a indie game, and ok. Very hard and fun game, by surprise. It’s like a Souls game. Nice!

Just a boring game if I'm being honest. The 3 points it got were from it's inspiration from Zelda. Thought that was nice. If you like games that are way too difficult and not the fun kind of difficult, you'll love this game. Go buy Elden Ring instead.

Best game of the year 10/10 must play, dismiss these people rating it lowly as they are just review bombing the game because they can't play it and are jealous.

Apparently people are review-bombing the game because it's a "ripoff" of Zelda which is ridiculous. Should all FPS games be ridiculed because they're ripoffs of Wolfenstein 3D? Give me a break. This game is also being criticized for being too hard by people who apparently totally missed that it even has a built-in god mode for people who struggle with it.

An immersive indie that captivates with it's wordless story telling. Simplistic but still well designed. Boss battles are challenging and even overworld enemies can become a battle for your life. Highly recommended to scratch the adventuring itch

Tunic is such a wonderful game with pretty visuals, a great sound track, fun gameplay loop and an amazing sense of exploration and world discovery and story all conveyed with little to no text. (Or at least untranslated at the moment) Performance wise I did have a couple laggy moments on the original Xbox One, but it did not keep me from enjoying the game as much as possible. Excellent game by a solo developer. Often achieves the quality you’d find in a legend of Zelda game made by a team of hundreds of people. The challenges are tough but meaningful and the progression elements and puzzle solving is interesting and reward exploration. The art style is great, clean, readable, cute, and overall I had an outstanding time playing this game.

    One point for the artstyle.
On the otherside, everything is terrible: dodging, locking, sprinting. All of them are broken, especially in boss fights, which are one of the most unfair battles I've ever seen.
Decrypting the guide book is rather annoying than enjoyable.
I had high hopes, but to be honest...this is the worst game I have ever played.

Love this game, love, love, love it. It's not going to be for most, given that it's more challenging, and doesn't exactly have a "tutorial", or difficulty setting, but it's definitely a worthwhile and interesting game.

Don't listen to those negatives. These are the ones that want everything handed to them on a silver platter, and can't imagine working for things.

Although there are good qualities, the game was overhyped due to exclusive content drought. The description of it is false and unless you are aware of where to go at the start, you will never progress. It tried is best to be unique but failed at every attempt with graphical issues in your as well. Overall I am very disappointed in the result

Giving this a 10 to balance out the review bombing by salty angry dorito munchers. It's a fun game that gives you a lot to think about and take in at first in trying to figure out what your items to or where to go, but there's very clear clues strewn about to get your started. Especially being free on gamepass it's a great game to play for free.

Excelente videojuego.

Totalmente recomendado

But it's such a pain to play.

Controls feel super sluggish, walk speed is incredibly slow. Inputs feel laggy, attacking and rolling, even walking feels unresponsive. I'm controlling a fox for chrissakes, he should be running circles around everyone. Enemies hit like tanks, the windows for dodging and attacking are super tight. Some enemies track mid-swing so you can't really dodge around them to counter, just away from them. Coupled with the anemic striking range, battles often stretch out.

I don't know where I'm supposed to go, and it takes forever to get there because of the walking speed. Getting items doesn't feel all that satisfying. The items aren't that original, I never felt like I had just discovered something exciting. Compare this to Ori, where lobbing fireballs can help me jump higher; that's interesting skill design.

It's just incredibly frustrating, and there's not much payoff. I've given up on games before, but rarely as quickly as I have with Tunic. 100% honest here, I full on ragequit after a very short amount of time. I like the concept, but I hate the execution.

Tunic had a lot to live up to after years of built up expectation, and it doesn’t just meet them, it shatters them and stands out as one of the most joyous gaming experiences I’ve had in years. It takes a little while to feel at home in Tunic’s gorgeously rendered world, but once it clicks and the secrets of the masterfully constructed in-game manual start to reveal themselves, the resulting game is up there with the likes of Zelda in terms of exploration and discoveries.
