The original Division was a games you either embraced or possibly looked by until you found a great sale. Initially it still had a few too many issues which many were resolved during the lifespan of the game or I grew to love over time. Despite the previous game I was still an optimist of The Division 2, and I was confident they corrected some of the problems the first game had early on. After completing the main content it became quite clear that they did just that and whilst it isn’t perfect I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my journey my only complaint is the glitch that exists for the rare weapons that can be obtained thru the glitch which I would expect should be corrected shortly. One of the biggest improvements I found this time around then was definitely the AI and controls because without a doubt these both feel more intelligent and realistic, and quite frankly I felt I was battling my best even early in the game while I got the feel for the new game. The gunplay does feel more realistic and smooth this time around, as well and whenever I took down an enemy opponents it felt rewarding and and very exciting. In terms of mission content the game has a lot for you to explore the activities you can do within this content to keep things fresh and interesting. The loot you get keeps things fun and interesting as well and this aspect will keep your interest peaked for a long while to come. Even though the presentation doesn’t feel improved over the predecessor along with the absence of an offline component again, I feel that the improvements have been made The Division 2 a better game overall and definitely a worth addition to your library, especially If your a fan of shooters. Well done UBISoft, hope to see your software continue to improve and bring us the long time classics we have enjoyed for years. Two Thumbs up! Expand

They can't stand for people to just pay for their game once and then play it by themselves. For Ubisoft, that just pisses them off. This should be free-to-play because that's exactly how it's designed but Ubisoft is way too greedy to do that. Disappointed. I like Tom Clancy's games for their immersion and realism. This one killed realism. It takes me out of the game every time I have to empty a full magazine to take down some dude with a hoodie and a golf club.
I understand this game is some kind of RPG-shooter, but I think those two elements don't mix very well.

If you like games to have substance, intrigue, and some variability in gameplay, this isn't for you.

I don't think i've ever played a worse ubisoft game... Its just a grind in a big open world you have to slowly walk around in.

This game definitely started out as a fun 10. That is, until the first expansion. The first expansion was delivered broken, barring progression for a lot of players. The bugs and failure to respond to the bugs has really hurt the experience playing this game. It's gone from something playable to a slog fest. If you like walking around your house picking up pennies, this is the game for you.

I bought the unlimited edition on April 8th I’ve played for 12 hours since then. It is now April 11th and the reason I say it needs to get better is because I tried to take my game back today and GameStop told me I would get $29 for my $128 game. With that said I want to start with I loved division 1, possibly my favorite game of all time if not #1 then top 3 for sure. With that being said I was stupid excited for this game. 12 hours in and I am learning that I am playing Destiny 2 all over again. By that I mean Bungie made D1 and love it hate it, right wrong whatever by the end they had a very solid game (same as division 1) but then they made D2 and it was completely everything that wasn’t D1 and they spent the next year changing everything back to the way it was in D1. I feel like that’s what is going on with the Division 2. Division 1 launched so f’d up even the devs said it sucked. And they worked their ass off over the next 2.5 years earning our trust back...so what do they do? Make a game that’s completely different and completely lazy.

The mod system is a total ball of poop. It’s the lazy mans version of the lazy mans version of the easy to do mod system. Literally you can get hammered drunk run around get some SHD Tech and fully upgrade things. I could teach a monkey to do that. So that’s cool

The enemies in Division 1 were tanks inside a tank...ok they aren’t tanks anymore for the most part but you run into 2+ enemies you better hide because theys gonna kill you. If for some reason they don’t kill you you need to use an “armor kit” to repair your armor not health (because massive is too good for the industry standard of med kit that’s been around for 18r93u59 years) and while doing that you better take cover because it takes a few seconds to apply instead of the way it used to be which was great...also forget about your health box, it’s gone. So that’s cool too

Weapons suck, multiple version of the same weapon, marksman rifles no longer have a zoom feature. It’s either all zoom or hip fire. Also a very cool feature. A lot of guns you get are semi...this is a video game we don’t need a license, give me full auto and an extended mag.

TL;DR - massive did to the Division what Bungie did to destiny. Division 2 it’s a completely different game all together. The mod system is terrible, the weapons are terrible, and the game as a whole if you really like division 1 well the division 2 is trash.

If I could get my money back I would, I actually tried. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME YET!!! I have faith in massive to get their head off of wherever it is and fix this **** but **** they messed up worse than any other developer on division 1 now this crap...might be heading back to D2 and filing a report with the BBB

This is a great. Missions are interesting. AI is good and enemies will try and flank you. Requires thought and strategy (cover in most paces is essential or you’ll be taken down quickly). Lots of quests and side missions. Being able to have a stat page to see load out and power is great. Smooth tranisitions from world to missions to cut scenes.

The gun-play is superb, there's so much to do there's literally no grind until after the end-game (when grinding for loot to use in PVP is part of the fun), and all the small annoyances that something like Anthem is riddled with have just been dealt with. It's never going to soar the way Anthem does in its finest momentd, but at the moment it's a far superior game, and incredibly satisfying to play. I'd rate it a 10 if the story was better, but I predict I'll be playing this for months to come, maybe years.

Content, Content, Content. There are so many more missions, strongholds, side quests, world events, etc. When I play Division 2 I feel like there is always something for me to do. In similar looter shooters I feel like I run out of things to do.

The story. Well the story is lacking, and while I wish it was better, I appreciate that so much more effort went into the gameplay as that is the main reason I play this style of game. If the game had a gripping story it would likely be closer to a 10.

The Endgame. I have played some endgame by now and I have to say I have been having tons of fun. They have a good layout, but admittedly there are some balancing issues. The few issues have not ruined the gameplay for me as I still have tons of fun, and I don't think there is really a better looter shooter that exists right now.

The Division 2 is another story completely though:
    - The mood of the first game is 100 percent gone. Washington DC in the middle of the summer just isn't the same thing.
    - The game is super laggy on X-Box One. If your game can't run 60 fps in 4K, it shouldn't have 4K at all
    - Aiming absolutely sucks compared to PC. Combined with the lagginess it makes the game barely playable. The small autoaim they've put in there is really random and stupid
    - Graphics look like garbage. They are detailed, but they look like last gen compared to a game like RE2.
    - Tried refunding but I've played barely more than 2 hours, and there is of course no way checking my in game play time.
    - There is barely any story at all compared to the first game. Super lazy for an AAA game. Where there was so much character and backstory in the first game that played in to the atmosphere, there is almost none here? Makes the game feel more like an expansion of the first one.

If you have to play this game, buy it for PC and play it on a good gaming rig.

Whether you're playing solo or with friends there's something here for everybody. Even if you don't touch all the high tier endgame content there's still an enjoyable campaign to get through and a rewarding loot-progression system to accompany it. Game looks to be on the right direction on to where content > loot, so we don't have to grind for an specific weapon or armor type but rather -at this point- focus on enjoying the game.
Leveling up to 30 was challenging but felt rewarding.

It tells a lot from what Massive have learned from Div1 where most of the launch issues on Div1 didn't happen on Div2. i.e.: Deltas.
Maintenance events -server side- have fixed most of the current issues on a very short response time from Devs. I'm positive this game will have a lot to offer down the road.

IMHO, this is a must play game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm going to be honest upfront. This game has some issues. The story is boring and having a player character that's mute just doesn't help. And while the story maybe delivered poorly (very poorly at some points) it still brings you to memorable places in Washington D.C. The game play feels good and snappy. The bullet sponginess is visually fixed and while you still need to pump a few bullets into your enemies it's a lot less tedious. The world is beautiful and feels far more alive than The Division 1's world did. There's a lot of content both during the main campaign as well as after completing it. When you finish the main campaign, A new enemy faction called the Black Tusk invades and resets almost the entire map. You also get to choose one of three specializations. These specializations can be further expanded on by leveling passive abilities, gaining access to new skill variants or weapon and attachment blueprints. After completing all 3 strongholds during the Black Tusk invasion you can level up the alert level of a control point by doing events attached to it. The higher the level the better the reward. I myself don't really like the PvP-side of the division in general. And while I hear opinions about the conflict and dark zone mode, I don't want to include them in my own review.
There are a few bugs in the end game side on XONE. For one I cannot see my XP bar for the field proficiency caches. While this one isn't game breaking it does bother me at times.
There is a bug where the skill power stat doesn't scale or scale properly with your abilities and there's the bug that the Black Tusk aren't actually doing what they're supposed to be doing in World Tier 4.
This game is not The Division 1 Remastered or The Division 1.5.
And I advice people to stick clear of people that give this game a low score for it's repetitive nature. This game is based around loot and with every looter you will find repetitiveness. If that's not what you like that's your taste but it's not a flaw of the game.

Now that I got the anti-Microsoft reviewer out of the way. The game runs great on Xbox One X, and it looks great as well. It definitely runs over 30 fps, upwards to 60. Just watch the digital foundry video. Gameplay is amazing. Gun fights are nothing less than engaging and fun, and there are so many ways to dive into combat. There are so many skills and perks to increase the combat experience, and this is no easy game, so you will have to use your own skill and abilities and weapons to defeat the harder foes. Speaking of skills and weapons, this game acts like a full fledged RPG in the fact that you get skills, perks, and an amazing amount of loot upgrades, which makes you always want to progress further, as in other loot based games. This looter shooter is done right, because there is always a sense of satisfaction when you find something new, and the missions and side quests are very fun, and if something is too challenging you can even request the aid of a real life player by calling for assist! Now this is where you need Xbox Live; the multiplayer....otherwise you can absolutely play the game solo as long as you have an internet connection, just like Diablo 3. This game is the Diablo of shooters and it is done RIGHT this time! There is so much customization here from skills to perks to character creation to safe zone improvements, it just all comes together so well. However, I do highly recommend getting Xbox Live for the multiplayer experience, because it is super fun to be able to respond to someone's call for aid on a mission they are having trouble with. This is an EXCELLENT feature, and matchmaking works wonderfully so far. This game is also fun as a single player game, like Diablo 3, BUT the best experience is on Xbox Live. If you like loot games or great multiplayer or 3rd person shooters then you should enjoy this game.

For now I can only give it a 8.5 because we have yet to see what the end game completely has to offer, and it's still too early, but if Ubisoft can deliver some amazing end game content, on top of the great leveling experience, then we surely can have one of the best 3rd party online shooter experiences ever.

This game was never my favourite because of the stupid jack-in-a-box cover mechanics that have you try to hide behind a wall but nothing happens so you hit the button again and you get into cover and out again then back in as you press again and then a drone explodes and you are out of cover again. Up, down, up, down... it’s nuts (especially as some walls refuse to let you take coverThis game was never my favourite because of the stupid jack-in-a-box cover mechanics that have you try to hide behind a wall but nothing happens so you hit the button again and you get into cover and out again then back in as you press again and then a drone explodes and you are out of cover again. Up, down, up, down... it’s nuts (especially as some walls refuse to let you take cover behind leaving you standing for every enemy to see).

Now Ghost Recon Wildlands by comparison is perfect in my mind. It lets you crouch where and whenever you want. If Ubi had used the same control system in Division game as in Wildlands, well, imho I think it would have made this game a 9.

But what had me throwing my controller in rage was stupid AI, crazy one-hit-kills and the annoying and glitchy audio that leave huge helicopters making no sound whatsoever while enemy footsteps can sound like the are running right behind you only to find they are quite a distance away or even on the surface when you are deep underground.

I usually love Ubisoft’s audio but The Division 2 is, by far, The worst game from UBI that I have ever played (audio wise).

Another thing that confuses me are the difficulty settings. In games like Destiny I feel like my character is getting stronger. In the Division 2 I feel like my character is actually getting WEAKER. At Tier 5 with a gear score of 488 I cannot even complete Tidal Basin on the normal difficulty where before I found it easy on hard difficulty.

One main problem is the escort mission... the friendly AI runs around like a headless chicken, running away from my friendly healing and towards explosive enemy drones or groups of enemies.in

In the end I deleted my copy off my Xbox because it was driving me nuts. I don’t mind losing when it’s my bad skill. I usually laugh it off in Destiny 1/2. In Division 2 I threw my controller at the wall when two bomb drones flew through my turret firing on them and me firing on them and no damage occurred to them even when they got really close. They stayed at full health right until they exploded and I died even though I was at full health and full 488 armour. Total, utter, rubbish.

So now I know I will never get another Division game even though the story is what drew me. Why players are giving this awful game a 10 is beyond my comprehension. They are obviously blind, deaf or have no clue about what a good game is. Ghost Recon Wildlands is a good game. Division 2 is just a glitchfest (at least for me) with poor design decisions (cover mechanics suck) and bad quality control.

So farewell Division. I would have like to follow the next part of the story but I will never purchase a bad joke like this ever again. 7/10 Does anyone want my stuff!

Having said that, to be honest The Division 2's day one launch wasn't anywhere near as bad as I was expecting considering the first game's day one problems as well as Destiny, Destiny 2, Anthem, Fallout 76, etc. So far my experience with The Division 2 has been smooth and fun. If you have played any of the first game I think you will be right at home when it comes to this installment. A few new things have been added like semi-auto rifles that aren't just designated marksman rifles. Armor now has manufacturers. Like in the first games signature gear. They work similar as well. The more pieces of gear that have the same manufacturer the more stats you unlock with that gear set. Except now its with all tiers of gear. Now even green gear has these same mechanics, Not just the signatures, There are a TON of quality of life changes. Load outs are easier to produce, apparel is easier to sort through, and mission structure, as well as matchmaking have been improved drastically. It's also much easier for private parties I really like the changes to the Dark Zone which I won't go into because I don't want to give too much away. Honestly if you are one of those people that even had fun playing the early days of the first game you will love TD2. The little grips I have are minor. Like, now you unlock weapon mods like front grips, sights, scopes, magazines, etc instead of looting them. The upside is that you don't have to have multiple mods to attach to more than one weapon. For example if you have the front grip perk unlocked you can put said front grip on every gun it is qualified to fit. So it is nice not having to sort through 400 mods in your inventory, and they also don''t take up space in the stash box. I just miss being able to fine tune ever weapon to my needs. With all of that said I think it important to mention that if the first game never got you interested or invested then this game won't win you over by any means imo. Expand

Firstly, the story is still somewhat mediocre, but the structure is fantastic for how the game works. The map is the real star here as it is layered in fantastic detail and hidden areas to explore. The progression here is addicting and the looting factor feels spot on with weapon drops.

The pvp aspects could use some work but the Dark Zone is really where the game packs a unique punch. I won't drone on here, but if you are into looter shooters or just love gaming in general, The Division 2 is worth every penny...

And claiming Anthem is better? You should seek some help for that...
Im about 180 hours in, GS 500 many nice bits to play with, loot being the big focus in this game and it is done really well, enough shiny bits but not to much to keep you engaged and chasing more.I mostly play solo and have no problem at all, normal difficulty is a cake walk ive moved up to hard with no dramas, i do play higher tiers but one is better to group up for them. The end game is really where this game shines,so much to do once you have hit the level cap it really is amazing, i still yearn to log in every day and do challenges, bounties, projects or just run around having some fun or grouping up with others who need help, never a dull moment! One thing is that there i so much to do that often when you set out to do something in particular you get sidetracked by something else! Building your character is fun and very variable with skills to suit every play style, you can be whatever you want especially when you re-work items with the desired stats to suit your play style.Sure the NPC's do get a bit spongy on higher difficulties but its hardly game breaking and part of the parcel for a game of this style, cant be one hitting everything! I play this on the onex running 1440p and i think it looks fantastic for the type of game it is.I have had the odd bug and lock-up,seems nothing is immune to that these days! Still nothing like the dramas Anthem has, that's for sure.Overall this is well worth picking up,i see myself easily doubling my play time if not more,i haven't even delved into pvp yet as im having so much fun with pve!
I do wish the devs would enable native kb&m support on the consoles, this game needs it, especially the raid.Controllers have always been a handicap, this game magnifies that with requirement to hit weak points with accuracy, something a controller simply can never do with the precision a mouse can, FACTS! All console owners should stop clinging to the pathetic input device that are these controllers and demand that m&kb is enabled and stop sooking that people using it are cheating! Its not cheating its just a superior input device, get with the times! You cant deny it (probably try blaming the game still..) when the raid takes many many hours on console and at the time of posting this is down to well under 20 mins on pc.

A thing I find very overrated and boring in today's games, so that doesn't help this game for me either. The only games that make finding stuff actually fun are games like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. The only good thing about this game for me is the ability to skip cutscenes. I couldn't care less about the story in these modern games that try to depict an overly realistic storyline and are filled with forgettable and boring-looking characters. So at least the game lets you focus on the gameplay and forget about everything else. I just like my games with fun and unique gameplay...and badass storylines with iconic-looking characters. But I doubt you can expect that from mentally impaired developers who even seem to think that gender is simply a body type lol. Expand

    The Division 2 (Review 06.04.2019)

"Played through", I have reached the endgame and can definitely rate the way there. I liked it very much, Part 1 was still a failure for me, I didn't play it again later. Part 2 actually makes everything better and after a day and 19 hours I had done all the side and story missions. The story itself is not worth mentioning, but I personally don't

"Played through", I have reached the endgame and can definitely rate the way there.

I liked it very much, Part 1 was still a failure for me, I didn't play it again later. Part 2 actually makes everything better and after a day and 19 hours I had done all the side and story missions.

The story itself is not worth mentioning, but I personally don't care.

The gameplay feels phenomenally good and has seen some really coherent improvements. Loot addiction is huge here.

Technically, it runs almost flawlessly on the One X and looks incredibly great. Only sometimes textures pop up here and there. In addition, the facial expressions bothered me a bit in the cutscenes and some non-mountable objects (e.g. curbs, etc.). It is also very annoying that your own agent does not have a flashlight and again does not speak.

I actually still have a lot of content in front of me that I will look at gradually. Division is now my game.

The game is getting 8/10 tech boxes, at least for now. In addition to the final content, which I have yet to discover, I also have to try out the Dark Zones and PvP. There is a lot to this game.

Mais um jogo genérico da Ubisoft, poderia ter sido bem melhor, não vi nada de diferente que me faça gostar dele, nem consegui me divertir com o cooperativo, melhora na próxima Ubisoft!

I used to love this game. I would have given it a 7 or 8 during its heyday but now it is almost unplayable. Ubisoft has abandoned it and it being an always online game spells trouble. You can't go 20 minutes without being disconnected from the server. Very frustrating. This game was great but now I cannot recommend. I wish they'd make a third one instead of this BR Hearltand game.

A step ahead for two steps back

They made things worse every time they patched, and eventually they passed on their responsibility to the player.

Update after update, Ubisoft and Massive continue to take one step forward and three steps back. The number of broken promises is unable to be counted at this point.

I'm not sure when it occurred but theres a sense of resentment from the developers towards its player base. The game has been out for a year. They have changed the game too many times to count and players have had to restart their builds every couple of months. Its almost as if all the changes and complete overhauls to the game are a marketing ploy by the developers. The core game is enjoyable enough. The "cover" system and "loot" make the game very addictive. It seems the developers are aware of this and instead of adding to the game to make players happy they decid to completely reset the game every few months and make their player base start all over again. It really is like a cruel joke. Instead of creativity and finding solutions to the problems the developers give up and start from scratch along with their players punishing everyone. I could go on but the last thing I will say is the world is currently facing a health crisis. There is a pandemic currently and everyone has been told to stay home. You would assume that video games would be on many peoples list of things they are doing to pass time. Ubisoft and Massive BAN their players for using a glitch in their game. IF that isn't resentment towards your player base I'm not sure what is. Expand

This game is pure trash. Massive will just take your money & then without any warning decide to do a blanket ban & just randomly pick peoples names out of a hat & ban innocent people meanwhile leaving the actual cheaters & hackers still in game to gloat how they got away with cheating & nothing happened to them. F*** this game & f*** massive!

The game play itself is awful, constantly doing the same missions over and over for crappy loot and the balance is no where to be found with NPCs that can one shoot you, yet you have to spend damn near all your ammo to kill one of them. Preodered the game, bought the DLC, and dank hours into the game. The game was great pre DLC, sure content was lacking at endgame after you sank the hours and grind to build sets and playstyles. The DLC was nice to finish a story but leave it open for more which is great but with it, it brought bugs out in full force. We had bugs for immortality and talents and damage. I get it's wrong for people to use cheats but exploiting a bug that wasnt tested for I don't consider it the same especially when it's a PVE stance. Completely wrong for the pvp side though. Massive and Ubisoft decided it was best to ban 1.5 million players during a global quarantine. Softer bans with warnings would have done the job better. They rolled the banned players back 2 weeks and this included players that didn't even exploit. All you had to do was matchmake and boom. Behind this they changed their agreement terms right before hand and no one knew because no one had to acknowledge the new agreement. That's shady business. I get this is a raging mainly for Ubisoft and massive over the game but it's their fault they dragged this game into the ground and drastic measures must be taken for drastic measures. Expand

Game developers treat players extremely unfairly and will ban players on any account. Do not buy any game product from massive or Ubisoft they handle any glitches with a straight slap in the face ban. Even if you matchmake with someone glitching or just play the game in general you most likely will get banned.

The Division 2 may be making a mess on Tom Clancy's grave by betraying his highly conservative values, but what is here is a very competent and polished third-person open-world action game with a big emphasis on co-op. The value in this package is seemingly nigh on endless with the amount of things to do and see. Even the core gameplay loop, though simplistic, is satisfying enough to keep things stimulating, even when they feel monotonous at times. Just when things feel the most tedious, the end game content really mixes things up in a big way to reinvigorate the formula.

For what it’s worth, The Division 2 is a fine game. It’s finely tuned, looks gorgeous in 4K, plays like I would have hoped, and just takes a great idea and improves on it. Co-op is the way to go, and solo players will still have some fun with it, but it will be a more difficult romp. Massive has shown they listened to their fans and wanted to make a game that the players wanted to see and they did just that. It’s a great shooter, great RPG, and well worth the time for anyone looking for a rewarding adventure.

Not only is The Division 2 a solid gaming experience, but it's one that Ubisoft plans to continually support over time. We've already seen the beginning of that support, and there is no indication that it'll let up. Whether you are a solo player or someone ready to jump in with a squad of friends, The Division 2 is a game you don't want to miss.
