    Retro platformers might not be to everyone’s taste, but the gameplay on display in Thy Sword is strong enough to warrant giving it a go, especially with three difficulty levels to have a go at. Don’t just think of this as an excuse to grab easy achievements… it is much more than that.

    Thy Sword is in every sense a simple a retro platformer. It has many nods to the past and has fine-tuned the experience to make the game fairly challenging. The controls are slick and pulling off a special move to finish an enemy is a joy. However, the game is fairly short and could be completed in 1 or 2 sittings. This is a fun game for those looking for a quick platformer to conquer.

    Thy Sword is a 2D 8bit Hack and Slash Action-Adventure Single-Screen Paltformer. You can play as the Barbarian, who starts with a broadsword,Thy Sword is a 2D 8bit Hack and Slash Action-Adventure Single-Screen Paltformer. You can play as the Barbarian, who starts with a broadsword, or the Valkyrie who has a Longsword and a Bow. Short but tricky levels await you with a fun and simple combat system. using the right bumper you attack, and using the left bumper blocks. As long as you block well you're nearly invulnerable! Pressing the X button unleashes a devastating spin attack that will kill nearly any standard enemy with one hit. If you have a bow the B button will release an arrow. If you have a magical charge, indicated by the sword icon in the bottom of your screen, you can unleash a level wiping attack, but be careful went youbuse it as the crystals to regenerate the magic are rare. You have a limited supply of arrows, but they are dropped by the enemies quite frequently. You keep your health from stage to stage, and every few stages you get to return to town and resupply if you have the gold. Gold is slim in supply and it takes a while to save up for the better equipment. Unless you can take out the ravens, and claim the golden key. Doing this will pop open the treasure chest and pour loot onto the stage. The Boss battles are tough, and the bosses are huge. Learn their patterns and you should do fine though.This is an amazing little game and fans of Hack and Slash Platformers will have a blast!… Expand
