More of the great writing and acting, more weapons, more levels, more and more and more – it’s all great. With my super-critical head on, the story is a tad cliched, and the twist isn’t a shock to anyone who’s been paying attention, but as an expansion to an already stunning game, I can overlook those things.

The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon DLC is a truly enjoyable return to this franchise and given the cost, it’s good value for your money. So if you have a hankering of returning to the universe of Halycon, this DLC is your panacea and is probably a nice distraction in this COVID-19 world. All in all, a well-written and carefully crafted DLC that works from the get go!

Peril on Gorgon is a good addition to the original adventure of The Outer Worlds, it could be one of the best subplots in the game, but it is not the additional content we expected. It falls short in duration and originality, and barely offers playable news. In case there are new expansions, we hope they will follow the lead of the classic Fallout New Vegas and each one improves on the previous one.

Without being frankly unavoidable, as much because of its rather poor ancillary content as the low contribution of new features that it brings to the original game, Peril on Gorgon nevertheless remains solid in the story it tells.

Peril on Gorgon is The Outer Worlds' expansion, and all all it's a solid execution for the game. Your Captain and their crew find themselvesPeril on Gorgon is The Outer Worlds' expansion, and all all it's a solid execution for the game. Your Captain and their crew find themselves travelling to the hell that is Gorgon asteroid which is basically a baron testing site for space drugs. You're contracted to investigate Gorgon by the heiress to a once great and prestigious family who's desperately seeking to rekindle her once noble status. In Outer Worlds style you are free to accomplish your journey in the manner of your choosing and it's not long before you're chest deep in all of Gorgon's secrets. If you're already familiar with The Outer Worlds, you'll know somewhat to expect. Abandoned facilities filled with many marauders and man-eating monsters galore, you’ll spend your time shooting them down and stashing the loot. There’s also several side quests available with rewards worth obtaining and dark humor based story. Your choices are as important here as it in the original game. Peril on Gorgon is more of the existing game but that is not a bad thing, I found the expansion a bit on the predictable side and it doesn't do much in terms of expanding the experience of the gameplay that was already present. Gorgon is definitely a big area, and there are many different locations within to explore and also raises your max level to 33 which introduces a few new perks. The Outer Worlds feels more like a plentiful role-playing experience , and existing fans will absolutely enjoy the expansion without question. I like that the expansion provides a great deal of new dialogue for Peril on Gorgon. Allies will chime in throughout the expansions main quest which will alone provide approximately 7 hours additional gameplay. If you’re a fan definitely carve out some time to explore this expansion for The Outer Worlds on Xbox One. Full Review »

Review extends to all consoles, since the big problem isn't the platform. To quote Cohh Carnage's review "Hmm. That was a DLC." Agreed withReview extends to all consoles, since the big problem isn't the platform. To quote Cohh Carnage's review "Hmm. That was a DLC." Agreed with him that the story was bland and underwhelming and easily predicted. Hopefully next DLC is better, but not sure I'm going to play it. Full Review »

Not even M$ cash can hype this one. Story's even weaker than the core game, humor has long since worn thin. True of all systems.
