All in all, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is an amazing experience, and more than just a 'game'. It's well written, well performed and something that I will be recommending for quite a while. It's not your typical video game. It gives you a unique perspective that even most television shows can't provide you. The acting, as I've said, is phenomenal. The actors don't miss a beat. For gamers that like to sit for a few hours and analyze every single question, it's my opinion that they should find this game enjoyable.

I have really enjoyed my time with this thoughtful, well written and brilliantly performed FMV game, but the deciding factor in that enjoyment comes from whether you want to watch characters deliver a strange story for 8 hours, without too much in the way of actual gameplay. For me though, that’s what makes The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker what it is.

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is in no way a bad game and indeed worth playing through even if only once, just for the experience alone if the subject matter interests you.

I quite like the FMV genre and I’m always eager to try out another FMV game because there isn’t that many of them about on the Xbox One. NotI quite like the FMV genre and I’m always eager to try out another FMV game because there isn’t that many of them about on the Xbox One. Not everybody likes the FMV genre and I can understand that because after a while they can become boring, but thankfully that’s not the case when it comes to the Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker. I very rarely found myself getting bored with this game and the main reason for that is because the story is so good. You can tell that a lot of thought and effort has gone into the script and this made the story remain interesting throughout my time with the game. The characters are also intriguing and questioning each one was very thrilling because they all add something to the mix. Speaking about questioning there are lots of questions you can ask each character and this at times actually made me think I was a real detective, which is great. I would recommend though that you ask the questions that are provided for you because it can be frustrating typing in a question and in the end they don’t give a proper response. Thankfully though the FMV responses do make you forget about this slight frustration, and I must admit that I was surprised by how many FMV responses there were. In fact I was surprised by the amount of content there was on the whole actually and without a doubt you definitely get great value for your money. There is also quite a bit of replayability present thanks to the different endings in the game and the best thing is that I never got bored when reaching these different conclusions. If you’re a fan of lots of gameplay then this game isn’t for you because there isn’t much when it comes to the gameplay side of things. I however didn’t see this as much of a problem though because the questions and feeling in control all of the time kept me satisfied throughout my time with the game and in the end I didn’t miss not having much in terms of the gameplay. The presentation side of the game has been done extremely well and at times the immersion levels are off the charts. Sometimes you think that you’re actually sitting in the same room as the characters your questioning and this without a doubt draws you into the story even more. I also have to applaud the actors and actresses because they did a marvellous job in bringing the story to life and in the end it was a pleasure to watch all the FMV sequences because of that. At the end of the day as far as FMV game’s go The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is probably the most enjoyable one I’ve experienced so far and if you’re a fan of these types of game’s then I fully recommend that you give this game a try because it will deliver a lot if not all what you want from an FMV game.
