    There’s plenty of fun to be had here for fans of the show. It’s a AUD $20 interactive puzzle game that expands The Grand Tour beyond the confines of an hour of television each week. It isn’t trying to be a fully fledged racing game, and it isn’t priced like one. Just as The Grand Tour show isn’t really about the cars, The Grand Tour Game isn’t really about the gameplay.

    If you like The Grand Tour, then this is an easy sell. It puts you pretty much in the show, doing what the presenters have just done and allows the chance to drive the very expensive cars in a stupid way. If you hate the show, or aren’t a fan of Clarkson et al, then this isn’t strong enough to make sense as a standalone purchase.

    Purely as a game, it is mediocre at best, but for fans of the show, there is something quite entertaining and quite enjoyable about the title. Fans will have a smile on their faces as they work through all of the content and events, and if that is what the title is aiming for, then that is probably more than enough.

    The Grand Tour Game sports a unique content delivery system, but it’s one that goes in and against the game’s favor. That being said, this all means very little in the face of its undefined framework. Whilst the game does a good job of representing the show’s stylish character and imitating its format in fun ways, it predictably falls short where it really matters. This is, at very best, a mixed bag of pros and cons.

    The only saving grace is that The Grand Tour Game has a strong fun element that keeps it in line with the show’s humor and that on its own should be enough to keep me playing, but unfortunately, it doesn’t. I feel like the game lets itself down after a few episodes and ends up not having any replayability. For Amazon Game Studios’ first console title, it’s not half bad, but it’s certainly not enough to entice me to pick up Amazon Prime to watch the show outside of the game.

    Fans of The Grand Tour will no doubt enjoy this game because it does a good job of recreating the TV formula into a game formula that’s fun.Fans of The Grand Tour will no doubt enjoy this game because it does a good job of recreating the TV formula into a game formula that’s fun. While the presentation side of the game isn’t going to win any awards any time soon I actually enjoyed both the visuals and sound design that were present. Each car in the game is very fun to race with and that’s mainly because each car feels unique and has a nice amount of variety packed within them. Racing against friends is very fun and I can only see the racing getting even more fun if they bring online components like they said they were going to do. In terms of realism the game doesn’t excel very much and if you’re looking for a Forza-style experience then this will probably disappoint. There isn’t a great deal of content available yet but that should hopefully change in the coming months. The controls feel a little fiddly and don’t always remain as responsive as they should which was a little annoying. I’m not going to lie from the moment it was first announced I was really looking forward to The Grand Tour Game and if it had half the humor as the TV program then I was sure to enjoy it. Thankfully I have no doubt that fans of the TV series will enjoy the game version and even though it has a few shortcomings It still manages to deliver quite a lot of fun and enjoyable moments. I will say straight off the bat though that if you’re looking for a realistic Forza-style experience then you won’t find it here but The Grand Tour Game doesn’t try to be that. Instead the game tries to be funny and it succeeds at that which meant trying each car was definitely something I wanted to do. I’m glad I did as well because even though the controls aren’t as good as they should be at times each car feels unique and makes you want to carry on despite this small issue. In terms of content there isn’t a huge amount for you to get to grips with yet but there is expected to be much more as well as online, so without a doubt I’m prepared to wait for this. At the end of the day then for me The Grand Tour Game is off to a good start and if you’ve got a couple of friends who like fun and arcade style racing then you can do much worse than this game, which means that I’m definitely excited to see what comes next because of this. 10 episodes to go but 2 thumbs up for sure for the 1st few seasons!     Stay away from this crap. It may have the best dialogues ever seen in a racing game (Jeremy Clarkson plays major role here after all), but itStay away from this crap.     Just subscribe to Amazon Prime Video and watch Grand Tour in pure form. It's better looking at cars on screen than drving them in this 'Game' (it's more like interactive movie actually... with emphasis on 'movie').    … Full Review »
