The Count Lucanor hides behind its classic curtains, one of the best and most enjoyable adventures you'll ever enjoy. Highly recommended and enjoyable for players of all levels.

It is an interesting little indie game that deserves attention. Sure, it may be flawed in places, but its issues do not have a greatly negative effect on what is, a neat and intriguing game. It is a game that is quite good as is, but could've been very good with more time in the proverbial oven.

The Count Lucanor wonderfully blends together survival and puzzle gameplay, ultimately producing an experience that’s tense and enticing. The tedious controls and the frequent framerate issues hold it back to some degree, but even with these problems, The Count Lucanor is a worthy investment.

The Count Lucanor is a game that is packed full of charm and weirdness and its little quirks made my time with the game a very enjoyable and memorable experience. I must admit that I didn’t expect much of a story in The Count Lucanor but I was pleasantly surprised throughout because the story that is present is not only interesting but it also has a mysterious and unique side to it as well. This mysterious feel is also present in the characters and without a doubt the characters bring the game alive and make things even more immersive, which is great. In terms of the gameplay I was very surprised by how much variety is present and this makes playing the game very fun and enjoyable. There are multiple puzzles for you to get to grips with and each puzzle has been cleverly designed and relates to the story you’re taking part in, which is great. It wasn’t all plain sailing though because I did have some trouble with the controls on certain puzzles and unfortunately the controls feel awkward throughout, which can be very annoying at times. The movement also doesn’t always feel on point as well so expect a few deaths here and there because of this. In terms of content the game has quite a bit for you to sink your teeth into and if you like game’s of this ilk then it will keep you satisfied for quite a few hours. The game also has a bit of replayability because there are multiple endings for you to achieve and I did enjoy getting to the different endings. During your time with the game you will notice a few technichal issues present and some of these can be pretty frustrating and in my opinion they shouldn’t be present in a game as minamilist as this. As you already know I love the presentation side of the game. Visually the pixel art is fantastic and when you combine that with the fantastic eerie sound design you end up getting sucked into the game even more, which is awesome. At the end of the day for such a small game The Count Lucanor has a lot going on and the best thing is that it gets a lot of the elements spot on. It has a style that will tick a lot of boxes for some and as an overall package it’s a game that in my opinion will surprise quite a few people, and without a doubt it gets a massive thumbs up from me.
