    This isn't the best game of it's type, but it's not the worst... Graphically, it's not great - it seems the devs didn't learn from CDPR's mishaps with developing their new games for last-gen consoles - it looks about the same graphical fidelity.
    Don't get me wrong, it's a BEAUTIFUL game with a GREAT soundtrack and stunning visuals, but the graphics and gameplay aren't there and there are    This isn't the best game of it's type, but it's not the worst...     Want a fun cyberpunk twin-stick shooter with excellent combat? Play Ruiner.
    Want a fun cyberpunk shooter with look at augment mechanics and shotty but still stunning visuals? Play Cyberpunk 2077.
    The Ascent just makes me want to play those games instead, which isn't a good sign for a game.
    I'll give it a 7/10 for the visuals and because it's a smaller dev team.    … Expand

    Fun but has its repetitive bits. Enemies turn into bullet sponges later in the game & gets very grindy at the end. It has its bugs but the game only crashed on me a couple times during my play through. Good twin stick shooter. All in all, I really liked it but I wish it was less grindy.

    There are plenty of things I wish were different. The loot system, the map, the small text, gear being underwhelming, the damage types being confusing, lack of bosses, and lots and lots of running in the wrong direction while following the trail. That’s a lot of major stuff. Yet it’s still an awesome game, but unfortunately the bad is always louder than the good. While I think of these as negative, others may like it and disagree entirely. I believe it is indeed a pleasure to play but I also wish certain things were different.

    Overall, The Ascent is a great addition to the cyberpunk genre. The graphics are stunning, the characters and story entertaining, and it’s available right now on Gamepass.

    Although there are some minor issues here and there, The Ascent's great atmosphere and breathtaking action-packed gameplay are more than enough to convince almost any gamer to give it a try.
