    The Adventure Pals may look like a thousand other games just like it, but it stands out among the crowd. It is fun, whimsical, and just a joy to play solo or with a friend. For those that enjoy the genre it is a must own. Add that to the fact that it is available on absolutely everything and there is no reason to let this game pass by.

    Before I played The Adventure Pals, I expected a cheap imitation of the popular Cartoon Network show, when in fact it’s a damn good platforming adventure.

    The Adventure Pals is a solid indie platformer and nothing about the level difficulty felt unfair, as the movements were quick and snappy. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a laid back type of game. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to collect some more cupcakes!

    Even despite a few combat issues and no reward for complete perfection, The Adventure Pals is definitely a game worth experiencing!

    For the most part, The Adventure Pals is an absolute joy to play. The graphics make it instantly appealing and have a nostalgic feel that doesn't let you down. The gameplay is simple and cute but never feels too easy or too hard, making it enjoyable to play through, despite a few issues here and there. As far as platformers go, it is a gleeful and well executed adventure and well worth jumping into.

    The ramped-up difficulty towards the end of the game may be off-putting for some, considering its very much kid-friendly exterior, but if you don’t mind a bit of a challenge, The Adventure Pals is very much a worthwhile romp.

    A solid and humor-filled platformer 2D with lots of memorable moments and a good gameplay variety: definitely one to watch for lovers of the genre.

    Between the art style, the core gameplay and the humor that lands, there’s a lot of fun to be had here. It’s a little too heavy handed on the in-jokes and references at times, undermining the successes elsewhere. The lack of enemy variety and the world level layouts hurt this the most, but overall, the game is well deserving of your time.

    I love games that allow you to have enjoyable moments as a family and in my opinion there isn’t enough of these types of games. The Adventure Pals is a game that people of all ages can enjoy and whilst it suffers with a few shortcomings me and my children still had a lot of fun with it, which is obviously what you want from a game. There are a few levels for you to get to grips with and I must admit that I was very impressed with the level design because each level is packed with a great deal of variety. I would however have liked a bit more content because there isn’t a vast amount for you to get to grips with, but thankfully the content that is here is very enjoyable. There are a few different elements in play at the same time and most of them hold up really well. The combat is something that I especially enjoyed and the simplicity of it means that you never get frustrated which is great considering if you die you have to start from the beginning of the level again. Thankfully I didn’t die that often but when I did die it was a bit of a nuisance returning back to the start of the level again. I will say though that dying is completely your fault and not the game’s fault because the game doesn’t suffer with any technichal issues and the controls that have been implemented remain tight and responsive throughout, which is great. I would however have liked the platforming side of the game to have had a bit more work put into it because jumping and traversing can feel a little floaty and awkward which can be a bit off-putting at times. If you like silly stories then The Adventure Pals will definitely put a smile on your face. It without a doubt made me and my children laugh out loud a few times and this made us to be able to connect with the characters quite a lot. The presentation side of the game also made us connect with the characters as well and that was mainly down to how much charm the visuals and sound design had and without a doubt the colourful visuals and nice sound design add to your overall experience and in some ways they make the gameplay even more fun. At the end of the day The Adventure Pals is a game that I thoroughly enjoyed and they definitely got more right than they got wrong. It may not be the best game of its type I’ve played but it does what it sets out to do and that is create a fun and enjoyable experience for the whole family and for that reason it gets a thumbs up from me.… Full Review »

    This is a true gem, one of the best platformers that I played ... ever.
    If you like Mario then make sure you don't miss The Adventure Pals.

    the adventure pals is a 2d platformer where you play as a boy named wilton who’s mom and dad are snatched up on his birthday, and you set out to collect rubies and get them back from the evil mr b
    This game consist of 5 different worlds, 21 different quests and took me around 9 hours to complete…
    The is a really charming game visually...
    it feels very cartoon network style with its goofy animations and characters...
    The characters and art of this game save this what otherwise is a pretty bland experience..
    There were some funny moments sprinkled in here with different npcs, but the dialog quickly just becomes nonsense that I had no interest in reading...
    And the levels are decently fun to get through... but the get stale fairly quickly…
    The objective of a quest is go to a section marked on your map and get from checkpoint to checkpoint 5 times, and at the end of the final checkpoint in an area is the gem to move on..
    However there are no checkpoints in between these mini levels within the levels you have to get from your well to the next will without dying or the current mini level you’re in will reset itself..
    Which honestly isn’t a big deal... it can actually be really helpful at times as there is an xp system here...
    you have a sword for combat, and you’re accompanied by your birthday giraffe and a rock to help you with platforming and mild combat help as well.. Enemies drop xp which allows you to pick one of 3 upgrades... all of which you’ll have by the end of the game, but these upgrades can give you health by doing damage, it can make the xp drops and coins magnetic to your, make enemies drop pickups... all the way to the max level of 21 which is easily reached before the games end…
    these item drops are useful in combat and range from health pickups, invincibility potions, and bombs..
    There are moments you can skip over enemies and some moments where you’ll have to defeat enemies in an area to move on, and you’ll basically be throwing switches, pulling levels... searching for cupcakes to turn in for a random cosmetic item, searching for sticker packs, and collecting cash to unlock chests throughout levels that also contain consumable items and you can buy these items at shops
    all of this looks and sounds great.. And at first it actually is great...
    The gameplay is smooth and fluent... the combat is engaging, you’ll have to dodge spongier enemies... you’ll later have to deal with enemies that heal during battle and some that have ranged attacks..
    However unfortunately all 9 hours of this game feels exactly the same
    And that could come down to the nature of these types of games where the platforming is a mix of vertical and horizontal, it’s much harder to tell a story and change things up in every level like a Mario game does for example.. And this game suffers by this fact...
    there are a few neat moments here with its switches and simple puzzles... but these moments are so rare…
    The only change up is that each of the world end in a super simple boss battle to take you to a new world and complete another 25 mini levels that all feel the same..
    They tried… there’s new enemies and picks ups as the game goes on... there’s even a water world…
    But nothing mixes the gameplay up enough…
    The Adventure Pals is an enjoyable and cute looking game.. But it’s a monotonous game that overstays its welcome.
