Best Tekken game yet in my opinion. i love the addition of Akuma as this allows me to get my Street Fighter fix as well. My only concern is Geese Howard as i feel that characters based off of countering only serve to slow down the pace of fighting games. Hopefully they will at least allow us to chicken his counter moves.

A chic game for those who like to play with friends on one monitor and with two gamepads. As a fan of the Tekken Tag Tournament 2, I see improvements and constant interest in the characters and the battles between them. The first game in the series was Tekken 3, and then only TTT 2. I am satisfied with the game, the fighting game is excellent, the plot is very strange :)

This game is so amazing, we couldnt expect less than this.
2 years ago this game was release on Arcades in Japan, and for this reason, the company had a great time for balance the game completly, before release in consoles. Anyways, this tekken like others tekken. The game was release with many characteres, a great story mode, with a great netcode and etc. Buy it!

Tekken is back! Love the rage art system. Graphics and sound are excellent. Love new comers like lucky chloe, giga. Character customization is deep. Only downer would be short amount of modes but not enough to being my score down. Lookin forward to seeing the pass content coming.

A return to Tekken's 4 roots of more precise and less unrealistic moves. Add in the speed and the "frames of action" 2d logic and you start to understand what makes Tekken 7's gameplay so fun.

Dont buy this game. Its unplayable.

    1. Online is crap as hell, even after patch, you cannot connect, waiting few times more than playing to find an opponent (disconnecting and lost connection - typical issues). 2. Even when you find opponent, there is 1/3 chance you will lag, sometimes you will have 4-5 games in a row that you will have heavy lags. You can easily lose to someone

    2. Even when you find opponent, there is 1/3 chance you will lag, sometimes you will have 4-5 games in a row that you will have heavy lags. You can easily lose to someone spamming one combination, and there is no fun even if you win, since no skill is involved.

    3. Game has horrible code, it is loading all the time. Character screen? I need to load it. Choosing which side of the screen you want? I need to load it? Finding opponent? I need to load it? Accepting rematch with same opponent and map? I need to load it. For a game with so little textures and objects, this **** is constantly loading - you get old in this game, waiting for anything to happen.

Bottom line, if you are a billionaire who burns money and just want to waste time by waiting for something to load and then lag to death... still dont buy it, donate to charity. It is the only online game I play that has so many, basic problems. It is as if Harada and his team, spend this 3 years on designing hats and tshirts for characters (which are still ugly ) instead of making online works, online which is the only thing making this game worth any penny. Its a waste of time and money, run, switch franschise, as clearly there is no future in Tekken. If in 2017 they cannot figurate out online gameplay, then really something is wrong with dev team.

Not a bad game, but the online mode sucks, i can't actually play a single match without lag and the lack of content doesn't help either, only practice mode, treasure mode, a very short and boring arcade mode and the story which is cool but again way to short, you can finish it in like two hours no to mention the characters episodes which are a joke.

For me, the Tekken franchise is like a friend I’ve known since grade school – you have to look at the titles side by side to realize just how much has changed in their appearance year after year. Looking at a number of the returning characters, they may be a bit more polished, but they look and act the same as they did years ago.

The backgrounds are much more detailed than in previous iterations of the game, each featuring great amounts of detail that really make you feel as if you’re fighting on a roof in a busy city or in a thick jungle region. Unfortunately, the same level of detail was not implemented in the design of the characters, which varies depending on the character. While some have never looked better, others appear to have static, often ugly faces made of glossy wax. The same applies to certain textures, especially the characters’ hair; while some look like you could reach your hand out and touch them, others look like they were ripped from the cartoonish cel-shaded world of Borderlands.

The game still controls as well as the previous entries in the series, with each face button corresponding to a specific limb of the body, while pulling away serves as a block. The only new addition to the tried and true formula is the rage state – after taking a set amount of damage, your fighter will glow red and allow you to unleash a devastating attack, which can quickly turn the tide of a battle.

Tekken 7 does feel a bit barebones in the area of game modes. Previous entries have a time attack and survival mode, while this version includes a fairly short story mode, arcade mode, a treasure hunt mode, and practice. Adding insult to injury, the Tekken Bowl mode is locked behind a paywall or requires the games season pass. While I am not opposed to paying for content, when something used to be included as a fun diversion, having to pay for it is downright sad. The online modes are limited to unranked player matches, ranked fights, and a tournament option. The story mode clocks in around an hour for the main gambit. The treasure mode quickly became my go to, as it allowed me to level up each character in addition to earning items and currency to purchase visual upgrades for the characters.

The 35 fighter roster is respectable, with a season pass being offered for additional fighters in the future. The most noteworthy addition is Akuma from the Street Fighter series. While he is a joy to play, his addition of ranged moves in a game that is ruled by close quarter combat does break the game a bit. In the online community, you will see a number of players who abuse the fireball ability.

Featuring a pretty robust customization option, you are able to earn and apply a number of items to each character and save your custom loadouts. These are strictly cosmetic changes and do not offer buffs in any way; they simply give you something to spend your hard earned coin on. While I wasn’t able to create my own version of super heroes or fighters from other games, which was my go to on the Soulcalibur franchise, it is a nice distraction.

Tekken 7 isn’t going to rewrite or set the standard for what a fighting game is, but it is a worthy addition to any fighting fan’s collection. Hopefully, we’ll see some new modes added in the future (that you don’t have to pay for) to offer more variety; or at the very least, see the mainstays return for the inevitable sequel.

Tekken 7 is a fighting game with seemingly a bunch to do, but just can’t stand up to today’s competition...
There is a story mode here complete with cut scenes which is probably the best part of the game...
Its tells the father son struggle of Heihachi and kazuya... as Kazuya sets out to kill his father for killing his mother…
The story mode goes a bit all over the place, so it’s hard to follow at times, but there’s definitely some emotion here, and I did find the story mode to be intriguing..
However this story mode is only 2 hours long…
There are character specific chapters to do after you complete the story mode that all tell a silly conflict between 2 fighters and end in a nice short cut scene at the end of the battle, and gives every character in the roster some personality...
To add even more personality to your characters... there’s a treasure battle mode here where you can earn fight money and clothing items to customize your entire roster…
However there are few unique outfits for each character
A lot of customizable options are shared... and even worse… you have to rebuy the exact same article of clothing even if you already own it for another character…
This is a decent feature though and you can even change the color of most items here…
    The actual gameplay though…
    Its stiff..
Tekken 7 feels extremely slow stiff and annoying compared to the competition like injustice 2…
Enemies feel spammy at times with their constant spam blocking and spam dodge attack from behind combos...
This can to lead to many frustrating feeling moments.. Where you’ll feel you need to get lucky to progress rather than breathe and go back in with a new approach…
This game is not newcomer friendly at all, as all of the cool moves are hidden behind ridiculous combinations of buttons…
Feeling like a pro will take a lot of time and dedication to this game…
Not recommend for the casual fighting game fan at all…
Though there is a more casual addition to tekken 7 called a rage art…
When you’re down on health and your back is against the wall, you can release a powerful attack like a super move from the injustice games, just with the touch of a button if you’d like as this move along with other button combinations are mappable on your controller…
    And onto the online mode..
It’s completely broken for me on the PlayStation 4…
I couldn’t connect to any matches... so my fun with this game ended when the 2 hour campaign ended…
Tekken fans I’m sure will love Tekken 7
    But fighting fans in general…
Tekken 7 is miles behind the competition and needs to catch up…
Content feels lacking with the likes of Injustice 2 out there now
And the button mashy memorize a million button sequences get lucky combat is just not enjoyable to me anymore…
    I give Tekken 7
    a 6/10

So disappointed with this game, in my favorite fighting franchise. The reason is for the rage mode. Is so damn molest when a noob wins you with a few punches and the rage mode, because you didn't cover at time. It´s a same because, the game has a so nice playability and ost, but in my opinion the rage mode ruins all the game.

Expand
