    Tannenberg is a squad-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game set during World War I. It is a standalone expansion to Verdun.Tannenberg has authenticity in spades: middling animations, unreliable AI, and uninspiring combat sully what could've been a remarkable experience. I myself don't enjoy or playing World War like shooter games because real persons died in those battles andTannenberg is a squad-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game set during World War I. I myself don't enjoy or playing World War like shooter games because real persons died in those battles and I'm finding "making fun" out of this wrong but If I need to talk about the game as a budget multiplayer shooter there's some satisfaction to be had, but overall this is a far too limited and sluggish experience overall. It's like there's a game already dominating the market with with being able to “buy” your way along the journey. If you really watching your financials then you might try the game and see how you find the guilty please hidden in what could have been an even greater experience with more finish to the final game.… Expand

    It’s a buggy and glitchy mess. When you die sometimes your character starts glitching and screaming and sometimes he just disappears. You’re are constantly getting stuck on the terrain and the fact that pretty much everything is one shot kill makes it even more frustrating. Also the game is simply not fun.

    I'm not good at keeping secrets and hiding my excitement, so I'm probably going to spoil the games score and it's impression left on me early. I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't do it in the next sentence. I just had a blast with this one that I haven't had in a really long time. It really took me back to playing the original "Call of Duty" series. It really took me back to playing the original "Call of Duty" series. Back when the series was more about the weapons of the era, and about history. Tannenberg reminded me just how much i was missing a realistic FPS experience set in this War. I thought I was over it After the recent Call of Duty and Battlefield versions it just didn't feel the same. It all just felt the same as their modern titles. Run and Gunning with SMGs, and winners and losers being decided by Ping. Tannenberg takes it back to when it was about team work and rifle play. The team that plans and communicates better wins. The guys that know how to use their weapon are kings of the battlefield. That's what i was missing. Tannenberg delivers that feeling. You meet a different type of gamer in the lobbies,a calmer more strategic gamer. Gamers that enjoy talking about the actual history. I actually made a few friends playing in online lobbies, and it's good because you need that to really win in Tannenberg. You have to have people that play well together. We actually ran off about 10 wins in a row, and I was hooked. I can't wait to finish typing this out to go and play some more.

    The main game type Maneuver really takes me back to the days of a young age and playing the board game "Risk" might be why I have had such a good time with it. It's 40 players some can be bots all trying to take points on a map. As you take these points it takes away from the enemies resources. The game ends when time expires and you have more points, or if you completely drain their resources to zero. You take these points your able to use them against the enemy as well. There are over 50 weapons, and they all feel really realistic . They all feel exactly how they would if you picked them up and fired them yourself, and that has a lot of importance to who gets the victory in the end. How well you understand your weapon,and how well you work as a unit. Another point is how well you know your maps. There are 9 Huge maps that really emulate the areas of this time period. It is so exciting starting the matches of maneuver you run out as a team to some really epic music. It's a excellent way to a match.

    There is also a Death match that is a lot of fun , because it's just rifle play. Just two different armies trying to finish the game with more kills. It's more like the standard FPS you are probably used to it, but slowed down a lot. You can run and gun, but you have to make sure you are reloading at the right times, because you can get caught doing so at the wrong time. It's reload times are more realistic, so you are thinking about what you are doing a lot more. You can hear the shots and bullets flying by you and it just feels so real. The gore is realistic as well, but it can be turned off for younger gamers, but you lovers of WW1 history will appreciate all the violence and accuracy.

    The sounds are amazing as I said earlier. the weapons all sound real as do the explosions. The music is outstanding as well. It really hypes you up, but the narration is pure brilliance as well. The narrator really explains the game so well, and it just feels really exciting. I kind of wish there was more of it in the game.I could sit here for hours just talking about how much I loved this game. It was the FPS I had been waiting for. Now I wish some one would deliver a really excellent Vietnam experience something else I been waiting on. I know I'll be playing this for a very long time in between my reviews. I haven't felt this way about a FPS since Siege, and I hope it's fan base grows. There was about 800 people playing it the last time i was searching for games. It really is a amazing experience with very little flaws. Only issue I really had with it was the menus being kind of hard to use at times, and sometimes being hard to distinguish between your team and the enemy. I saw a lot of friendly fire my few days playing it. Everyone really expected it, and joked about it though. It actually added to a lot of the fun and put a dose of humor into the experience. So if you been looking for a more realistic FPS I highly recommend checking out "Tannenberg Eastern Front"    … Expand

    Very good game!!!!!! The only WW1 game that has Bulgaria. I recommend it!!!!

    Ill start by saying what Tannenberg is not. It is not a "Triple A", latest graphics, big bang boom shoot em up where you can take a series of bullets, spin around and bunny hop to no scope kill the guy who tactically saw you first. Nope.

    This is an ultra realistic and unforgiving WW1 tactical FPS shooter made by an indie staff of roughly 10 people. What this small group has done is    Ill start by saying what Tannenberg is not. It is not a "Triple A", latest graphics, big bang boom shoot em up where you can take a series of bullets, spin around and bunny hop to no scope kill the guy who tactically saw you first. Nope.

    This is an ultra realistic and unforgiving WW1 tactical FPS shooter made by an indie staff of roughly 10 people. What this small group has done is make an insanely authentic WW1 game that offers a very different experience than other shooters with just enough pieces from other games that you will be able to pick it up and know "how to play" despite the multiple layers of meta under the hood you may or may not discover later (psst, you should!).

    These gents are the ones that made Verdun (also on console and pc) and with both games they painstakingly made sure every rifle, grenade, bayonet, shovel, uniforms etc are authentic to the time, country and squad that used it. I cant imagine the amount of wonderfully appreciated nerd time that took! Instead of BF1 where you might have a machine gun, some grenades, a pistol, mortar launcher, melee weapon with an exploding crossbow on your back...in this game, you just might end up being the guy in the sqaud who only gets 3 grenades and a shovel...yeah, thats right, a freegin shovel! lol. It doesnt tell you you are a one man army, it tells you you might want to stick to your squad and try to be invisible until you get to a cap zone or trench near it. What I love about Tanneberg over Verdun is the map is now a big tactical chess board where a good NCO and squad can move from point to point with the care and teamwork you thought you would see more of in BF1. Sometimes you will still have that choatic feel where everyone looks like theyre just running around and dying, but the higher level potential is there in this one and it shows and shines when it happens. Every step and move must be much more calculated or you WILL end up shot to the ground and be faced with a "killed by" screen where they wont let you see where you were even shot from. Teamwork and communication is huge with this one.

    Overall, id say this, if you played BF1 (which i loved and still do mind you) and always wanted things to lean more on the real side (and enjoyed "back to basics" game mode with iron sights) ill go out on a limb and say you will enjoy the hell out of Tannenberg.

    Theres a few reasons I didnt give it 10/10. One reason is a lack of spectator mode (which is on the PC versions). The lack of the ability to change the controls to make the right stick crouch (which i solved with my Elite controller setup, but). Strangely absent also is the ability to invite a friend to join you easily via a button. You can still do it via joining same game or squad, or squad up first, but no invite from a match etc. Seems a quick easy patch for all these things, but im reviewing it as is, the day after release. They also have some general engine improvements and tweaking needs (that they have improved on for years with this engine). For me, if these things were addressed, 10/10.

    Overall the game is much more than I expected and im enjoying it more that I hoped which is excellelent! Its getting addicting to hear my gear jostle again while I try to survive from point A to B with very different things to consider than Verdun.

    The crisp clear sounds of clean iron sight one shot rifle kills have never been more satisfying in a game. ;)    … Expand

    the game is very good its 1 of the best ww1 games. the is not easy and you shouldn"t run into the enemy army.

    Tannenberg isn’t trying to compete with the Battlefields and Call of Duty’s, as it’s a completely different experience; one much slower paced, deliberate and brutal. Some will be turned off by is clunkyness and sluggish gameplay, but the realism and recreation of WWI battles is on a whole other level. If you’re looking for realistic trench warfare, Tannenberg will pit you in 40 player WWI battles that history buffs will relish in.

    Tannenberg provides a realistic historical reproduction of one of the big battles of WW1, but the gameplay is still largely perfectible and battles feel too flat, with few tactical options ad too many campers which, historical accuracy or not, isn't pleasant in a multiplayer shooter.
