This game, in my opinion, could be compared to Cuphead and Super Meat Boy in respect to the each games difficulty. Every move you make could mean you move forward, or you die and have to start all over. The other beauty of this game is its unlimited deaths. You could die twenty times in a row if you wanted to and you'd still go back to the level you're on. I'd recommend this game to anyone who's up for a hardcore puzzle challenge.

Switch – Or Die Trying is for those who look for a real challenge in their platformers. It can be likened to Super Meat Boy in that respect. Switch – Or Die Trying is truly a platformer that was made for the diehard fans of the genre.

With no clear indication as to the audience it is ideally designed for, with the difficulty clearly too high for children and design points proving too childish for adults, monotonous gameplay throughout, and overly basic mechanics making up its key aspects, Switch – Or Die Trying is likely to be a title many will quickly forget.

Switch – Or Die Trying is a simply designed, yet polished game. It can hold its own and be an enjoyable experience for the right player. It's mostly for those who find pleasure in speed running levels and those who are avid platformer fans. For everyone else, maybe skip this one.

Switch: Or Die Trying is a game for those who relish a challenge, though oftentimes the challenge comes not through design, but lack of polish. If you are looking for something to scratch that Meat Boy itch, you’ll find some fun here, but be prepared for that to quickly give way to frustration.

Switch: Or Die Trying is a game that’s right up my alley and it’s also a game that I’ve heard a lot of good things about especially from a fewSwitch: Or Die Trying is a game that’s right up my alley and it’s also a game that I’ve heard a lot of good things about especially from a few friends that have played it on PC. Thankfully its made its way to console and I now understand why my friends loved it so much. The gameplay that’s present in the game works ever so well with a number of different mechanics in play at the same time. It may be a little bit too difficult for some but I found the challenge to be just right and it kept me coming back for more time and time again. The controls which are obviously very important in a game like this feel great and most important of all they remain responsive at all times, which in turn allows you to focus on the puzzles at hand. The puzzles range in variety and do a great job of breaking up the normal gameplay and I must admit that I enjoyed the thought process that has gone into some of them. In terms of content the game has a decent amount for you to sink your teeth into. Each level feels completely different from the other and I appreciated how cleverly designed they were because by doing this it keeps the game both fresh and interesting throughout. There wasn’t many gripes that I had with the game really and the only thing that really disappointed me was its lack of a story. There is a story present in the game but it’s not blessed with much to get to grips with and I think more of a story would have benefited the game’s style greatly, which is charming to say the least. The presentation side of the game is one of my favourite parts about Switch: Or Die Trying because you can tell a lot of effort has gone in here. Visually the game looks beautiful and has a lot of little details included and when you accompany this with the charming music that’s present you find that they both enhance the gameplay quite considerably. At the end of the day as far as puzzle platformers go this is without a doubt up there with some of the best I’ve ever played. They get every little element in the game spot on and whilst it can be difficult at times it still didn’t stop me from wanting to carry on. If you’re a fan of this specific genre then Switch: Or Die Trying is an absolute must buy and I would even recommend it to newcomers of the genre as well.
