  • Summary: Super Volley Blast brings back the spirit of the old-school super-fun sport games. Set your friends at the court with the powerful character editor and play with or against them in the story mode or in custom matches and tournaments.

It’s competitive, it’s fun, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously, and so if you’re a fan of local multiplayer titles, enjoy sports games, or simply want something to play with family and friends, then Super Volley Blast is a title you should consider grabbing with both hands.

Super Volley Blast hardly goes above and beyond, but it does indeed offer a fun, colorful, and accessible arcade experience nevertheless. I take issue with its lack of depth and its somewhat incompetent AI when playing solo. However, with that in mind, the game just about manages to meet expectations through both its local multiplayer component and its quirky, play-it-safe concept.

Designing my character wasWhen played in local co-op this game is very fun and enjoyable and with this comes a great deal of replaybility. Designing my character was really fun and there’s a number of different options meaning you can customise your character’s to your heart’s content. The simple to pick up and play style that’s been implemented in the game works well and this means gamers of all ages can enjoy and play this.
Whilst the presentation side of the game isn’t anything amazing I still enjoyed what both the visuals and sound design delivered to me. When played on your own the gameplay does get boring quite quickly and it’s nowhere near as fun compared to when playing with friends. In terms of content the game doesn’t have much for you to get to grips with and a few extra modes would’ve been a welcome addition. I appreciated the inclusion of a story I just felt that the story was a little too basic and this did mean I wasn’t interested in it very much. I actually like a good game of volleyball every now and then so I did have a little bit of interest when it came to Super Volley Blast. Thankfully on the whole the game is actually pretty decent and whilst it has a few shortcomings here and there when played with friends you end up having a very fun and enjoyable experience. You can also play this game on your own as well but when played this way you do end up getting a little bored because it does get repetetive quite quickly. I would also have liked to have seen a little more in terms of content as well because that would’ve given the game a little more in terms of replaybility. Thankfully though the game does at least have some form of replayability and that comes in the form of it’s character creator. You can literally chop and change everything you want when it comes to your character and this did make me and my children enjoy the game more. At the end of the day then Super Vollley Blast is one of them game that is perfect to pass some time every now and then and whilst it isn’t perfect the easy to pick up and play style means anybody can play this which results in a small recommendation from me.
