Stones of the Revenant on Xbox One is a fun way to get a blast from the past and kill some time. It presents a challenge that can be enjoyed solo or with a friend in local co-op. I enjoyed my run through the game and trying out all the characters, and even with a few issues here and there Stones of the Revenant is still a good time for platforming fans.

Stones of the revenant - So I start off saying this game has so much damn promise and i was greatly looking forward to this retro sideStones of the revenant - So I start off saying this game has so much damn promise and i was greatly looking forward to this retro side scrolling RPG genre game. However this game did not live up to the promise I saw at the onset. There are zero options to change the sound settings or anything for that matter. The sound volume is insanely high to where i had to all but turn off my headset because the audio was way to high hut you can't adjust it. Then the graphics are slow and for a side scroller you expect it move quickly or at least keep up with your movements but the game did not. And the shooting offered was limited to jumping up and placing well timed shots, and even at that where you could be up against multiple enemies you still take about 2 seconds between attacks. And then you have to charge up moves or wait for a cooldown. But yet they can attack faster than you it felt like. The graphics were retro but i still felt like they could have more detail but this is an extremely small studio. The cool part was at least they had various classes to pick from so the game is definitely not the worst and priced well. I had hoped for more detail mechanics but it didnt offer much outside of basic play and there was no customization and it kept score but it disnt really offer any rewards for scoring high. All in all i dont like the game and though the 1st release has promise it failed to live up to the hype I generated from watching the trailer. Low price of entry and great for all the achievement hunters out there. Expand
