The first time I played it I actually was only planning to play it for maybe an hour just to try it out, and ended up stuck in it for 6. I think I spent about 50 hours in about two weeks on this game. It's very addictive, colorful, and I love the characters when you get them to open up and build relationships with them. The game has a few minor stutters and occasionally issues with the cursor feature on the Xbox One, but nothing that ruins the game. The colorful Super Nintendo like graphics, casual game play, rewarding selling system, variety of activities to engage in, and beautiful music (especially the fall music) make this game easy to enjoy and lose a lot of time in. The crops and animals can get a tad repetitive, but there is always something to do or work towards in the game. Expand

A great surprise. A very cute and addictive farm sim with tons to do. If you loved Harvest Moon you should love this. I have had no issues as others reported. I have not had a crash and neither have any family members. So they must have patched it. This game will have INCREDIBLY long legs and be played by many people for many years. It has a vibrant community and a lot of depth and challenge for people wanting to do everything. Me, my wife, and my daughter all love this game!

As someone who spent many hours playing Harvest Moon and Animal Crossing, I really enjoyed my time spent in Stardew Valley. At the beginning, you have 5 different locations to choose from ‒I picked up Hill Top map‒ and, from there on, my journey started.

The game lets you start off with your own house, tools required for your labor and money to spend on seeds. It will gradually teach you how everything works, even though most gamers will just skip right through the tutorial information and focus on the actual gameplay.

Experienced gamers will probably find the beginning little bit slow and boring, when day after day you feel like you are doing nothing but pickaxing rocks, axing trees and slashing grass; but the further you progress in the game, the more enticing it becomes ‒crafting mechanics, such as sprinklers for your soil or better weapons. Yes! You will at one point get your hands on a sword and from there on progress in the game's "dungeon crawl" style mechanic, where you will go into a cave, fight different monsters ‒everything from a zombie to a normal bat‒ and find ladders to advance further down into the cave to come across newer materials to use for your crafting.

Also, you can take a break from being a dungeon explorer and a farmer by exploring the game's sims like mechanics, where you can talk to people, like a blacksmith who will let you upgrade your tools and weapons, or you can crack open geodes for a small amount of money, or even attend the seasonal festivals they have, like the Flower Dance festival, Stardew Valley Fair or the Feast of the Winterstar and many many more... There is a library where you can go and return artifacts you have found for small rewards. There is also a relationship meter for each NPC in the town that you can build up, find someone to marry and eventually have a kid with.

Both sound design and music are fine. I did enjoy the music, it was nice for what it was and fitted with the game's style and design, not something i would look up on Youtube to re-listen except for maybe one or two tracks that did stand out to me, but it is a nice and relaxing background tunes for those countless hours in the night spent in front of the TV screen getting hooked on farming, interacting with the town's NPCs or going to their seasonal festivals which there is 2 festivals for each season and, of course, killing monsters in the dungeon.

I found myself plenty of times being more addicted to Stardew Valley than i have been in years playing video games. It is really a relaxing fun piece of gem that really have done a great job at making the three completely different gameplay elements that is farming, dungeon crawling and relationship building with the towns npcs feel unique and good. I strongly recommend it for gamers out there wanting something with a feel good quality and where everything you do is building up to something but at your own pace.

This is my first review. I hope you, the reader, enjoyed my review and found it helpful.

Continue to have a good day, my fellow gamer.

This is a crazy fun game, THAT DOES NOTHING BUT CRASH!!! I have lost sooo much progress on crashes when I sleep and save, to just a random crash when I am walking around. I want to play the game so much, but I know that I will loose all my progress. It is absolutely outrageous that this game was released in the unstable condition that it is in. And what is worse, this has been in issue since the game released and there has not been a hot fix yet. The developer, or whoever is responsible, should be staying up through the night fixing this bug to get a hot fix out the the public. But to my knowledge, a patch is "in the works with no release date". FIX IT NOW or don't sell games!!!

amazing sense of progression of seeing your farm getting bigger and bigger and earning more and more money
interesting npc,s that can rival even the best AAA games out their and you can even marry some of them if you want to (by constantly giving them gift,s like gold diggers pretty much)
you can go fishing and either sell them eat them or use them later on in the game to make fertilizer
you also can go mining for ores like copper steel gold and iridium which you can use to upgrade your tolls and also make other stuff for your farm as like kegs so you can make wine and coffee
on top off the progression off your farm and upgrading your tools theirs also the ability to fill up the local museum /library with unique artifacts and ores you can find in the world for rewards
and theirs also the community center which tasks you with collecting specific items and bringing them back to the community center like certain plants you can find in the world fruit veg flowers animal products fish and also ores if you collecting everything the community center ask you to collect it is massively rewarding in every single way possible and if you don,t want to go on a massive collectathon to get these same rewards you can just simply pay with the the in game currency to get those same rewards if you want as well but going the community center route and completing it will give you a massive sense of pride and accomplishment (the real you not the EA one lol) the complaints for the most stuff are pretty small but i say the 3 main gripes i have for the game that i will cover for this is
the controls they fell awkward at first and unfortunately no you can,t change the controls at least that,s been my experience with the Xbox 1 it might be different for the pc version though
i also felt like dying in the mines is to punishing for a game that,s as chill and mellow as stardew valley is so always bring food with you when you go mining so that you can replenish your health and lastly while the tutorial at the beginning was great i did fell like the game could off done a better job explaining how the mid to end game stuff worked i found at least for me the best thing to do was to look up the stuff i needed information for either on the star dew valley wiki or on YouTube
overall this is a amazing game that i would definitely anyone that into any sort off farming game
