This game didn't age as well as Mario games, especially platforming sections are not that great.

+ The sense of humour in this game is childish, but I enjoyed the jokes and game references a lot.
+ The graphics are fine. They really shine with the dragons: the designs are great and they work perfectly with the new art direction. They struggle with any fur creatures though (they look ugly, which hits the hardest the second game).
+ The puzzles and exploration (starting from the second game) are quite enjoyable.

    Pros:
    - Controls are awful. Even after playing 30+ hours I wasn't able to make Spyro to do what I want. Always bumping into things and missing the ledges. They game has just never felt right for me.
    - Due to awful controls any flying sections are even worse (and in the third game they add vehicles sections that also suck). These sections just drain all the fun from the game and just prohibit to get all the achievements.
    - And the boss fights are even worse than flying sections. They are unfair and not fun at all. Each game fails in its own way. The first one feels like a bad version of Ori bosses, but with lame controls. The second one is the worst of the bunch with Gulp telepathically predicting which direction you're running at. The third one is more annoying and boring than tough with camera being your biggest enemy.

Good game with good atmosphere. Long loading times spoil the experience. Could have been better.

Can't get anything more than 30fps even on my Xbox One X. The dash direction controls are very frustrating, the platforms designs can get very frustrating. Parts of platforms that clearly look like you can land your glide one, aren't actually part of the platform and you will often bounce off things that visually look like they can be landed on. Jumping is a painful experience, especiallyCan't get anything more than 30fps even on my Xbox One X. The dash direction controls are very frustrating, the platforms designs can get very frustrating. Jumping is a painful experience, especially jumping up steps. So slow and flow sapping. Most of the gameplay is fluid, until you need to jump up steps. Just painful. The only people who will enjoy this game are people who enjoy collectathons, ticking off every jewel and challenge for each level.

If you're not interested in that mind numbing monotonous gameplay style that was acceptable back when hardware was limiting, you will complete most levels in less than 4/5 minutes each

The only saving grace you could give this trilogy, is that in a generation of lazy remasters, you get full fledged remakes, with a beautiful art style. Does get a little bit jarring hearing most character voices being done by Tom Kenny (SpongeBob) but with an ever so slightly difference accent. I paid £12 for it and for that price, I am happy with what I got. All things considering, I am even more happy I didn't pay full price

Most impressively, each of the dozens of levels has been thoughtfully recreated with impressive attention to visual and audio detail, bringing the magical feel of the series to life once more. Fans of the originals will find almost nothing to dislike, and I can see Spyro delighting a new generation of players with the quality of this collection.

If nothing else, the studio’s excellent work on Spyro: Reignited Trilogy shows the franchise in good hands, and a new game could address some of the poorly-aged elements and other fan complaints, like the the Reignited Trilogy‘s lack of subtitles.

There is something magical about this trilogy. Sure Crash had more fanfare, but Spyro feels like a piece of history lost. Going back to these games was a pure joyful experience. Whether it was my fatigue of current titles or just that I crave colorful platformers, I cannot recommend this game enough. Even with its blemishes it was a title that I spent the most time smiling while playing.
